• Toshiba Laptop Problem - Black Screen on Startup [using Win Vista]

  Hi guys, can anyone help me on my problem? I only see black screen after the startup.. It just shows the logo and the status bar upon start, then it goes black screen with moveable cursor. I tried alt+ctrl+del, but it doesn't work. I pressed shift 5 times and it makes a sound. I already removed battery and restarted it, but still the same. I can go to safe mode and scanned thru there. Still, desktop won't show up. Don't know what else to check? Been searching the net for solutions. Please help? :(

• XAMPP MySQL stops running after ~1.5 seconds

  I have tried installing it as a service. Nothing seems to work! I have checked the status page and MySQL is listed as "Deactivated".   I'm working with Hosted SharePoint 2007 with Forms Server. I need to allow client access to submit HTML forms designed in Infopath. Problem is, I need to make sure the clients don't see the library. There is sensitive data that will be on these forms. I also need to have a repeated library that is based on the Internal Admin records and requirements. Outside of making a seperate library per customer, does anyone have any suggestions? My Goal: 1: Customers enter their requests through a link or provided page 2: Internally address the requests and perform required arrangements, add billing and payment fields 3: Have SharePoint metrics, reports, etc... based on the provided intormation and status. • Error with Internationalization extension while compiling php 5.4.8

  I downloaded latest php version from php.net i.e. PHP 5.4.8 I configured it with following command ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql --enable-intl --with-libdir=lib64 --with-pear --with-mcrypt --with-mhash --enable-mbstring --with-iconv --with-icu-dir=/usr --with-gettext --with-curl --with-mysqli --with-freetype --with-gd --with-curlwrappers --with-jpeg-dir=/usr --with-png-dir=/usr After this I run 'make' which start building / compiling PHP. After some time It throws me error ext/intl/.libs/php_intl.o: In function `zm_startup_intl': php-5.4.8/ext/intl/php_intl.c:651: undefined reference to `spoofchecker_register_Spoofchecker_class' php-5.4.8/ext/intl/php_intl.c:654: undefined reference to `spoofchecker_register_constants' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [sapi/cli/php] Error 1 Spent lots of hours finding solutions. I can't come out of any. Does anyone know what this error exactly means? How to get rid of this error?

• IBM x226 server with Windows 2003 freezing and showing one HDD degraded

  We have an IBM x226 server with Windows 2003 running on it. For weeks it's been very slow and it freezes at least once each day. At the boot it show message "degraded" for one HDD and optimal for other HDDs. We have 4 HDDs in it set up in Raid 1. HDD 1 - HDD 2, HDD 3 - HDD4. It seems that HDD2 is the one who is causing problems (showing degraded status). There's an amber led blinking on it together with the green one. We installed ServerRAID manager downloaded from IBM and it gave us option for "rebuild". But the server froze at some point and now it's rebuilding from start again. I've done some Googling and it says that it could be to failing HDD or some cache battery. How can we verify what is the cause of this?

• timeout with apache & php w/ each virtual host has his own user process

  I have 10 unix users in /home/. Each user is for a specific subdomain for example user www in /home/www/public_html is for www.mywebsite. blog in /home/blog/public_html is for blog.mywebsite. 90% is php and 10% ror for the moment i use apache + fastcgi that use SuexecUserGroup to setup the process with the good user. it seems to works but i have a strange behavior where after a few hours/days, the server stop answering (timeout) but the cpu load is still very low (it's a big server), the apache status display lot of "W" Sending Reply states but there's still 50 idle workers so it should be able to answer. in the older server (lot of slower) we add only one user and using mod_php and we never had this issue. is there another way to do that without fastcgi and SuexecUserGroup or do you know what's going wrong?

  I've been sent here by the people at stackoverflow OK so I know I'm using the right code becuase I have it working on another server but when I try to send an email from a webpage on this particular server using php I get a success message back but the email never gets through. • IIS: Content-Length 0 for CSS, Javascript and Images

  After a clean re-installation of my Windows 7 system, I can't get IIS 7 to properly deliver any static content. Dynmic content (ASPX pages and content served by ASP.NET MVC controllers) works fine, but static files such as CSS, Javascript and Images give me a 200 OK status code and a Content-Length of 0. The problem occurs with all web sites on my server, even a brandnew ASP:NET MVC template project with no changes. It also occurs with both Firefox and IE 8. What could possibly be the problem? Note that I also installed the latest Windows Azure SDK, perhaps that messed up some settings. But I don't know how to proceed with for troubleshooting this.

• Ubuntu hang, and cannot be soft-reset after resuming from stand by mode

  I have downgrade my xorg drivers, so I can hibernate and stand by my ubuntu smoothly. However, in some case, there's a problem. My ubuntu get hang. When I tried to switch to console mode (Ctrl+Alt+F1), then I cannot login. The system always reply with an error whenever I tried to press a key. When I press Ctrl+Alt+Del to perform a softreset, here what's it said: [80141.320122] end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 193687181 init: control-alt-delete main process (5660) terminated with status 2. This error is not even recorded in syslog. I guess this should be a problem with my hard disk since it said something about a bad sector. Exactly, what kind of error is this?

CPU2 Status: Processor sensors for CPU2, IERR was deasserted I've Googled it, random forum posts aren't providing me with a clear answer. It's also apparently not a word: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/deassert?s=t I can guess the meaning. Assert: to state with assurance, confidence, or force Okay. So the negative of that. The state of lack-of-confidence? What is this error message trying to tell me? Memory errors were grouped with this one: is it trying to say that IERR for CPU2 should be set, but is not? That the current system state is SNAFU but CPU2 sees everything as fine?

  We have our company website hosted on a Linux machine. It is sending mail via postfix. The emails are working and being sent to all email clients like Gmail. However, we are not receiving the emails on our exchange server. • Ubuntu firefox: some web-pages stuck on loading

  Just installed Ubuntu 10.04 beta, installation went fine and all programs are working smooth. Just this one weird network problem. Some sites simply are not opening and loading forever. For example, google.com and youtube are working well, but ubuntu.com and many other are not opening at all, or are loaded partly. One thing i noticed is that on all of those pages on firefox status bar is message "Looking up for www.google-analytics.com" (or similar remote resources) message appearing all the time (even on this page, but it somehow has loaded and working). I should mention that i tried those pages to open on windows OS on this same machine, and they opened without problems. So i am guessing that it has to be some sort of network configuration problems on Ubuntu. What could cause such problem?

• Website hosted on IIS is not accessbile

  I have two sites set up in IIS on a remote machine RM; one on regular port 80, and the other on port 5773. From my local machine LM, I can access the site on 80, but I cannot access the one on 5773; I get a status code of 502 and an error code of 10060 (A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond) when I try to do this. I can access the 5773 site via IIS when I am logged into RM (i.e. by right clicking on a page on the site and going 'Browse'). I can also access pages on the 5773 site via a browser, again when I am logged into RM. I just can't do the same via a browser when I am logged into LM. I have ensured that port 5773 is open for outgoing traffic on LM. Could the problem be that I also need to ensure that port 5773 is open for inbound traffic on RM?

• TFTP PUT Failing Across Hosts

  I have a TFTP server installed on a CentOS host. /etc/xinetd.d/tftp: service tftp { disable = no socket_type = dgram protocol = udp wait = yes user = root server = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd server_args = -c -s /var/lib/tftpboot per_source = 11 cps = 100 2 flags = IPv4 } If I try to PUT a file from a remote host to the host running the TFTP server, I get Transfer Timed Out - however, it does create the file in /var/lib/tftpboot but the file is empty. If I tftp from the tftp server to itself (localhost) and PUT a file, it works fine. I have verified that SELinux is disabled and IPTables are turned off. I can connect from the remote hosts with no issue - just seems to be the PUT I have issue with: [root@SVR01 TEST]# tftp 10.100.2.15 tftp> status Connected to 10.100.2.15. • Mercurial says hgrc is untrusted in Emacs, but works fine from the command line

  I've got some Mercurial checkouts in a directory that was mounted by root. Mercurial is usually suspicious of files that aren't mine, but I'm the only user here, so I put: [trusted] users = root groups = root in my ~/.hgrc, and now I can use hg from the command line with no warnings or errors about anything being untrusted. So far, great. But when I try to run, say, vc-annotate in Emacs, I get an Annotate buffer that says: abort: unknown revision 'Not trusting file /home/me/.../working-copy/.hg/hgrc from untrusted user root, group root Not trusting file /home/me/.../working-copy/.hg/hgrc from untrusted user root, group root 7648'! The message area says: Running hg annotate -d -n --follow -r... my-file.c...FAILED (status 255) I don't have anything in my .emacs related to vc or hg. Other commands, like vc-diff, work fine. What am I missing here?

• How to debug high memory usage by registry?

  I have a windows 2008 r2 server running ADFS2 and some web apps that is having issues with low memory. Digging around I found that the 5.5 GB were being used under Kernel Memory (paged). Further digging with Poolmon, I discovered that the majority of that (5GB+) was being used by CM - configuration manager. Also known as the registry. I'm really now sure how to tell why the registry is using so much memory however, or how to release it? Looking at the physical registry files they don't appear that large. I would like to know if there is any user interface which allows me to choose a specific package/version and deploy and any user interface i can already use which allows me to show the deployments history and their status. (I saw that glu has a nice user interface i'm looking for something like it, http://linkedin.github.com/glu/docs/latest/html/tutorial.html ) I wondered if i could use glu (so that i can get their deployment history gui if they have a good one...) with mcollective but from what i understand they are parallel frameworks.
