• Apply css to AREA MAP

  I'm created a very large map with many poly areas (over 20 coordinates each) for regions within the map. However, you can't add css to the AREA tag as I was told it's not a visible element. What I want to do is when the user hovers over an area on the map, I want it to be "highlighted" by applying a 1px border to the specific AREA element. Is there a way of doing this? No, I'm not going to resort using rectangles.

  Any clues why my programmatically defined UIScrollView (using the application frame) always leaves an empty space at the top (below the navigationBar) of 20 pixels. How can I close that?   In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository. Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this? (I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)

  A friend wrote a query with the following condition: AND ( SELECT count(1) FROM users_alerts_status uas WHERE uas.alert_id = context_alert.alert_id AND uas.user_id = 18309 AND uas.status = 'read' ) = 0 Seeing this, I suggested we change it to: AND NOT EXISTS ( SELECT 1 FROM users_alerts_status uas WHERE uas.alert_id = context_alert.alert_id AND uas.user_id = 18309 AND uas.status = 'read' ) But in testing, the first version of the query is consistently between 20 and 30ms faster (we tested after restarting the server). Conceptually, what am I missing?
