    i'm having some troubles compiling my work, i'm using ubuntu with g++! i get a lot of these messages: undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::directory_entry::m_get_status(boost::system::error_code*) const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::extension() const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::filename() const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::filename() const' (etc...) I've searched and found maaany answers but none of those work for me.     I'm learning Node.js and looking forward to create a simple web application which will be based on Express and I was thinking of something like creating user groups and each group has its own users and each group has its own permissions (Just like ACL in Cakephp) So can anyone recommend a good module or whatever to do so ?     If I am using a block cipher such as AES which has a block size of 128 bits, what do I do if my data is not an even multiple of 128 bits? I am working with packets of data and do not want to change the size of my packet when encrypting it, yet my data is not an even multiple of 128? Does the AES block cipher allow handling of a final block that is short without changing the size of my message once encrypted?

I see that StackOverflow ignore FormsAuthentication and instead implemented a different strategy to persist a login cookie. Pros Out of the box implementation for persistent login feature. Cons The login feature depends on the machine key which mean that I need to make sure that the machine key is the same on all the servers in the farm. The cookie contains wired encrypted values that don't really make sense to store in the cookie.

  • iOS6: do we have to set rootViewController in App delegate in order to support different orientations?

    The app was perfectly fine working in iOS5 in landscape orientation. However in iOS6, it started to use portrait orientation in all view controllers. The methods shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation are not called anymore. I read the new stuff about changed rotation mechanism in iOS6 and I was able to fix that by adding a line in my AppDelegate: self.window.rootViewController = _viewController _viewControler is the starting screen (Home-menu). All other view controllers implement shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method and returns YES for landscape orientations only. So, it's perfectly working solution for the app that needs to support only one orientation. However, the problem is I need one view controller (lets call it phone-VC) to be presented in portrait orientation. Now, if I want this view controller would be rotated then I need to return YES in Home-menu controller that is assigned to rootViewControler in appDelegate. However, I can't do that because this rootViewController is starting window that need to presented in landscape only, otherwise the layout with graphics in this window will break. But if I don't return YES from its shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation (Home-menu) then the same method is not called in my view phone-VC that needs to be presented in portrait. Any ideas? Does the assignation of rootViewController is mandatory in AppDelegate? UPDATE: the problem exists on device (at least on iPhone4).

  • Jquery animate negative top and back to 0 - starts messing up after 3rd click

    The site in question is this one: http://www.pickmixmagazine.com/wordpress/ When you click on one of the posts (any of the boxes) an iframe will slide down from the top with the content in it. Once the "Home" button in the top left hand corner of the iframe is clicked, the iframe slides back up. This works perfectly the first 2 times, on the 3rd click on of a post, the content will slide down, but when the home button is clicked, the content slides back up normally but once it has slid all the way up to the position it should be in, the iframe drops straight back down to where it was before the home button was clicked, I click it again and then it works.     I have a simple website where I establish a connection to a Mysql server using PDO. $dbh = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=DB;port=3306', 'USER', 'SECRET',array(PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_INIT_COMMAND => "SET NAMES utf8")); I had some traffic on my site and the servers connection limit was reached, and the website throw this error, with my PLAIN password in it! Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections' in /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php:64 Stack trace: #0 /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php(64): PDO-__construct('mysql:host=loca...', 'USER', 'SECRET', Array) #1 {main} thrown in /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php on line 64 Ironically I switched to PDO for security reasons, this really shocked me. Because this exact error is something you can provoke very easily on most sites using simple http flooding. I now wrapped my conenction into a try/catch clause, but still. I think this is catastrophic! So I am new to PDO and my questino is: What do I have to consider to be safe! How to I establish a connection in a secure way? Are there other known security holes like this one that I have to be aware of?

  • Authenticating users in iPhone app

    I'm developing an HTTP api for our web application. Initially, the primary consumer of the API will be an iPhone app we're developing, but I'm designing this with future uses in mind (such as mobile apps for other platforms). I'm trying to decide on the best way to authenticate users so they can access their accounts from the iPhone. I've got a design that I think works well, but I'm no security expert, so I figured it would be good to ask for feedback here. The design of the user authentication has 3 primary goals: Good user experience: We want to allow users to enter their credentials once, and remain logged in indefinitely, until they explicitly log out. I would have considered OAuth if not for the fact that the experience from an iPhone app is pretty awful, from what I've heard (i.e. it launches the login form in Safari, then tells the user to return to the app when authentication succeeds). No need to store the user creds with the app: I always hate the idea of having the user's password stored in either plain text or symmetrically encrypted anywhere, so I don't want the app to have to store the password to pass it to the API for future API requests. Security: We definitely don't need the intense security of a banking app, but I'd obviously like this to be secure. Overall, the API is REST-inspired (i.e. treating URLs as resources, and using the HTTP methods and status codes semantically). Each request to the API must include two custom HTTP headers: an API Key (unique to each client app) and a unique device ID. The API requires all requests to be made using HTTPS, so that the headers and body are encrypted. My plan is to have an api_sessions table in my database. It has a unique constraint on the API key and unique device ID (so that a device may only be logged into a single user account through a given app) as well as a foreign key to the users table. The API will have a login endpoint, which receives the username/password and, if they match an account, logs the user in, creating an api_sessions record for the given API key and device id. Future API requests will look up the api_session using the API key and device id, and, if a record is found, treat the request as being logged in under the user account referenced by the api_session record. There will also be a logout API endpoint, which deletes the record from the api_sessions table. Does anyone see any obvious security holes in this?

    I want to store a specific part of a matched result as a variable to be used for replacement later. I would like to keep this in a one liner instead of finding the variable I need before hand. when configuring apache, and use mod_rewrite, you can specificy specific parts of patterns to be used as variables,like this: RewriteRule ^www.example.com/page/(.*)$ http://www.example.com/page.php?page=$1 [R=301,L] the part of the pattern match that's contained inside the parenthesis is stored as $1 for use later. So if the url was www.example.com/page/home, it would be replaced with www.example.com/page.php?page=home. So the "home" part of the match was saved in $1 because it was the part of the pattern inside the parenthesis. I want something like this functionality with a sed command, I need to automatically replace many strings in a SQL dump file, to add drop table if exist commands before each create table, but I need to know the table name to do this, so if the dump file contains something like: ... CREATE TABLE `orders` ... I need to run something like: cat dump.sql | sed "s/CREATE TABLE `(.*)`/DROP TABLE IF EXISTS $1\N CREATE TABLE `$1`/g" to get the result of: ... DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `orders` CREATE TABLE `orders` ... I'm using the mod_rewrite syntax in the sed command as a logical example of what I'm trying to do. Any suggestions?

As I understand it, the cookie is encrypted and used to identify a user on each request. I'm curious whether it should affect the design of the primary key on my Users table in my database, eg. Guid vs int or a unique username string.

    I have a piece of code that generates soccer/football fixtures. The idea is that for every round of fixtures, the date will be 4 days further than the last round. So round one will be 3rd may, round two will be 7th may, round three 11th may, etc. I am not sure how to do this? The code that currently makes the fixtures are as follows: $totalRounds = $teams - 1; $matchesPerRound = $teams / 2; $rounds = array(); for ($i = 0; $i < $totalRounds; $i++) { $rounds[$i] = array(); } for ($round = 0; $round < $totalRounds; $round++) { for ($match = 0; $match < $matchesPerRound; $match++) { $home = ($round + $match) % ($teams - 1); $away = ($teams - 1 - $match + $round) % ($teams - 1); // Last team stays in the same place while the others // rotate around it. if ($match == 0) { $away = $teams - 1; } $rounds[$round][$match] = "$user[$home]~$team[$home]@$user[$away]~$team[$away]"; } } The teams would be the total users in the league. So if there are 8 teams, there will be 7 rounds. And i will want each round 4 days apart. And that date will be within each fixture within each round. Any further information needed just ask!
