  • Why my computer working without harddisc with livecd, but with hardisk not working - computer not response to any signals?

    Hi, History of problem: I formated computer (HP Pavalion Desktop). When I restart computer - computer come to first screen before boot and not response to any signals (f2, f10, ESC, etc..) I take out motherboad battery return after time back and power computer - result : as before I disconnect wires of hard-disk and insert livecd UBUNTU to cd and power coputer: result: works without hard-disk. What is the root of problem: hard-disk broken? hard-disk wires not working well? BIOS? other reason How can I fix the problem?(Buy new hard disk etc...) Thanks, Yosef

    I'm implementing a RESTful web service using WCF and the WebHttpBinding. Currently I'm working on the error handling logic, implementing a custom error handler (IErrorHandler); the aim is to have it catch any uncaught exceptions thrown by operations and then return a JSON error object (including say an error code and error message - e.g. { "errorCode": 123, "errorMessage": "bla" }) back to the browser user along with an an HTTP code such as BadRequest, InteralServerError or whatever (anything other than 'OK' really).   • Crash: iPhone Threading with Blocks

    I have some convenience methods set up for threading with blocks (using PLBlocks). Then in the main portion of my code, I call the method -fetchArrivalsForLocationIDs:callback:errback:, which runs some web API calls in the background. Here's the problem: when I comment out the 2 NSAutoreleasePool-related lines in JTBlockThreading.m, of course I get lots of Object 0x6b31280 of class __NSArrayM autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking errors. However, if I uncomment them, the app frequently crashes on the [pool release]; line, sometimes saying malloc: *** error for object 0x6e3ae10: pointer being freed was not allocated" *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug.   • Spring MVC annotation config problem

    I'm trying to improve my spring mvc configuration so as to not require a new config file for every servlet I add, but I'm running into problems. I've tried using this tutorial as a starting point, but I'm running into an issue that I can't figure out. The problem is that when I do a GET to my servlet, I get back a 404 error.     I've set-up FileZilla server a Windows 2008 Machine, I then created the user, password and added a share folder which I set to Home Directory. I then connect to the server from the client computer Status: Connecting to {IP} Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220-Welcome To {NAME} FTP Response: 220 {DOMAIN} Command: USER {USER} Response: 331 Password required for {USER} Command: PASS ********* Response: 230 Logged on Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is current directory. Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Type set to I Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode ({}DATA) Command: MLSD The connection works fine, however no remote directory is selected, it shows as "/" however uploading any file fails. Any suggestions on how to debug this more?

    I have a form being AJAX'd in by jQuery on a page with multiple forms. I'm performing the following function, which is a wrapper for the $.ajax function: function do_json_get(uri){ var ret = ''; var url = AJAX_URL + uri; $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: url, async: false, success: function(data) { ret = data.html; }, dataType: 'json' }); return ret; } When I go to the AJAX server directly (which is rendering the form in PHP), I get the raw JSON response - so I know the server is outputting to the browser, and the AJAX server is doing other things like setting the proper cookies, so I know that the connection is good (I get a 200 response code). Yet the data object is coming back null. What else could I be missing?

  • IE Mixed Content Warining when using https URLs and http:443 URLs?

    I'm getting the good ole' "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items." dialog in IE when connecting to an HTTPS site. No big deal... I've just got something coming in over a non-secure connection so that should be an easy fix, right? So I go into "View Web Page Privacy Policy..." to look to see where I've included an HTTP file, and this is what I see... https://blah/path/to/file.htm https://blah/path/to/file.js http://blah:443/path/to/file.css Um... ok... so... there is an HTTP only URL being requested, but it is going over port 443 ("https://blah/" is shorthand for "http://blah:443/") so... What is the deal with this!? IE 7.0.5730.13 can't possibly be THAT stupid, can it? Is there an IIS setting that needs to be tweaked?

  • Can iptables allow Squid to process a request, then redirect the response packets to another port?

    I'm trying to test a fancy traffic analyzer app, which I have running on port 8890. My current plan is to let any HTTP request come into Squid, on port 3128, and let it process the request, and then just before it sends the response back, use iptables to redirect the response packets (leaving port 3128) to port 8890. I've researched this all night, and tried many iptables commands, but I'm missing something and my hair is falling out. Is this even possible? If so, what iptables incantation could do it? If not, any idea what might work on a single host, given multiple remote browser clients?

In order to access each of these apps (whether be it from the local network or the Internet), I have to enter a different port, e.g., http:// server:8085 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8085 for Apache, http:// server:90 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:90 for FDM, http:// server:8081 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8081 for JDownloader. I would like to be able to access them using sub-domains, e.g, http:// apache.server or http:// apache.xxxx.dyndns.org for Apache, http:// fdm.server or http:// fdm.xxxx.dyndns.org for FDM, http:// jdownloader.server or http:// jdownloader.xxxx.dyndns.org for JDownloader. First of all, would it be possible like I want it, i.e., both from LAN and Internet, and if yes, how?   • Reporting Services as PDF through WebRequest in C# 3.5 "Not Supported File Type"

    I've inherited a legacy application that is supposed to grab an on the fly pdf from a reporting services server. Everything works fine up until the point where you try to open the pdf being returned and adobe acrobat tells you: Adobe Reader could not open 'thisStoopidReport'.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). I've done some initial troubleshooting on this. If I replace the url in the WebRequest.Create() call with a valid pdf file on my local machine ie: @"C:temp/validpdf.pdf") then I get a valid PDF. The report itself seems to work fine. If I manually type the URL to the reporting services report that should generate the pdf file I am prompted for user authentication. But after supplying it I get a valid pdf file. I've replace the actual url,username,userpass and domain strings in the code below with bogus values for obvious reasons.   • Jquery getJSON cross domain problems

    I cant seem to get my JSON file to work when pulling it in from another domain using JQuerys getJSON. I have placed the callback part at the end of the url but still have no joy. Firebug tells me its a cross domain issue, which seems to make sense as if I place the json file locally the below code (excluding the ?jsoncallback=? works fine) Heres the Jquery part     So it looks like on RoR, when Ajax (using form_remote_tag) returns a success code, Javascript is also returned to handle the visual effects. Is there any other ways to use static Javascript already loaded with the page? Must it be just raw Javascript and use the Prototype's Ajax success response to call the static Javascript code, or can it be some Rails mechanism related to RJS?

  • Classic ASP, ASP.NET, IFrames and response.redirect issue....

    A client has an asp page with an iframe. The Iframe loads an asp.net page inside the asp classic page. The ASP.NET page is responsible for connecting to a webservice, displaying some data, and then when the user clicks a button it does a response.redirect another classic asp page. Since the asp.net page is in an iframe, the asp page loads inside the iframe when ideally it should be taking over the entire page. I have tried putting javascript in the final asp page to break out of iframes but it does not seem to fire. I tried doing onClientCLick() on the asp.net page and making it break out of the iframe using the following javascript top.location = self.location.href But since that sets the location it seems to refresh the page , breaks out of the iframe but does not fire the serverside onclick event which would then perform the backend calculations and do response.redirect. Any ideas on how I can make sure that the final asp page does not appear inside the iframe and breaks out of it ?

  • How can I put double quotes inside a string within an ajax JSON response?

    I receive a JSON response in an Ajax request from the server. This way it works: { "a" = "1", "b" = "hello 'kitty'" } But I did not succeed in putting double quotes around kitty. When I convert " to \x22 in the Ajax response, it is still interpreted as " by JavaScript and I cannot parse the JSON. Should I also escape the \ and unescape later (which would be possible)? How to do this? Edit: I am not sure if i expressed it well: I want this string inside of "b" after the parse: hello "kitty" If necessary I could also add an additional step after the parse to convert "b", but I guess it is not necessary, there is a more elegant way so this happens automatically?

  • Prototype Ajax.Updater Response OK, but not showing up in FF. working in Safari!

    Hi, I've got a quite strange problem here. I'm calling some simple code via Ajax.Updater: new Ajax.Updater('load','http://myurl.com/demo.pl?key=demokey&param1=xyz&param2=abc',{ method:'get', onComplete:function(transport){ alert(transport.responseText) } }); which gets some code like this: <img id="2009_04_15_1239786246" src='../pv/100/2009_04_15_1239786246-01.jpg' border="1"> <img id="2009_04_15_1239786066" src='../pv/100/2009_04_15_1239786066-01.jpg' border="1"> ... and so on This code shows up in my firebug console as my server response, so everything should be fine. No errors here at all. Works fine in Safari. Firefox, according to Firebug, knows there is a response, but it won't show a thing in my div 'load' and the alert(transport.responseText) is also empty. I have no idea what could be the problem here.

    I have written an HttpModule that adds a response filter. The filter is capturing page output and storing it in a session variable. I am able to access HttpContext.Current.Session in my HttpModule. The HttpModule is handling the PostAcquireRequestState event. I am still able to access HttpContext.Current.Session in the PostAcquireRequestState event. I am adding a custom stream that inherits from Stream to Response.Filter HttpContext.Current.Session is null when accessed from the Stream.Write method. Everything worked fine when using an InProc SessionState. However, I now must use StateServer. Using StateServer, the code is now broken. Any ideas?
