• strftimedoesnt display year correctly

  Hi guys, i have the following code below: const char* timeformat = "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S"; const int timelength = 20; char timecstring[timelength]; strftime(timecstring, timelength, timeformat, currentstruct); cout << "timecstring is: " << timecstring << "\n"; currentstruct is a tm*. The cout is giving me the date in the correct format, but the year is not 2010, but 3910. I know there is something to do with the year cound starting at 1900, but im not sure how to get strftime to recognise this and not add 1900 to the value of 2010 that is there, can anyone help.   Hi guys, I'm currently doing a highlighting function on a webpage and im using the jquery plugin for that. My code looks like this: var input = function() { var matchword = $('#searchbox').val(); if(matchword != "") { $('body').removeHighlight(); $('body').highlight($('#searchbox').val()); } } $(document).ready(function() { $('#searchbox').keyup(function() { setTimeout("input()", 2000); }); }); It works fine if there is not so large amount of data on the page. But in case of large amount of data on the page the whole process is slowing down which causes that inputbox is freezing untill the letter is hightlighted. So the typing is not smooth. I tryed to use a setTimeout but it seems doesnt help. Any ideas?

• Accessing ASP.NET Development Server from another pc on the network

  I would like to test my web app in other browsers. I have installed Virtual PC to do just that. the ASP.NET development server does not allow remote connections so the virtual pc (another computer on the network) cannot access the website. I found this post that was started but there was no solution. I understand that using localhost will not work. I heard about using the machines ip, but how do I get that correct ip? Look at my lynksys router admin? If I were to get as far as getting my IP, im sure that the asp.net dev server does not allow remote connections. How do I enable it to do so?

When I insert a new Node I need to insert it not at the end, but in oder... i.e. 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 33, 55, 58, 102, etc. I don't think I am inserting it in the correct position. • java - Depth First Search - Perform DFS on a tree

  Im trying to perform DFS on a Minimum Spanning Tree which contains 26 nodes. Nodes are named 'A' to 'Z' and the tree is undirected. I have an empty function called DFS here that I am trying to write, which (i presume) takes in the tree (a 2D array) a startNode (randomly selected node 'M') and the endNode (randomly selected node 'Z'). The weights of connected nodes are identified in the 2D array parameter, but how do I actually get started visiting nodes? All that is required is to print each nodeName in the order of the DFS traversal. Do I need to create a Node_class for each node in the 2d array??

  i had once had a very simple one or two line code that would start a function with its own thread and continue running until application closed, c++ console app. lost the project it was in, and remember it was hard to find. cant find it online now. most example account for complicated multithreading situations. but i just need to open this one function in its own thread. hopefully someone knows what im talking about, or a similar solution. eg. start void abc in its own thread, no parameters

  I'm always writing tests to check my controller restricts people from certain actions depending on their status i.e. logged in, admin? etc Regardless of whether its a get to :index or a puts to :create the code is always the same. I'm trying to refactor this so that i have one method such as should_redirect_unauthenticated_to_login_action(request, action) and call it like so should_redirect_unauthenticated_to_login_action(:get, :index) = get :index But not sure how to dynamically call the various response methods rails provides for functional tests which seem to live in the module ActionController I mucked around with module = Kernel.const_get("ActionController") module::TestProcess.get NoMethodError: undefined method `get' for ActionController::TestProcess:Module can anyone help (im very new to dynamic calling in ruby)

• Custom deleters for std::shared_ptrs

  Is it possible to use a custom deleter after creating a std::shared_ptr without using new? My problem is that object creation is handled by a factory class and its constructors & destructors are protected, which gives a compile error, and I don't want to use new because of its drawbacks. To elaborate: I prefer to create shared pointers like this, which doesn't let you set a custom deleter (I think): auto sp1 = make_shared<Song>(L"The Beatles", L"Im Happy Just to Dance With You"); Or I can create them like this, which does let met set a deleter through an argument: auto sp2(new Song, MyDeleterFunc); But the second one uses new, which AFAIK isn't as efficient as the top sort of allocation. Maybe this is clearer: is it possible to get the benefits of make_shared<> as well as a custom deleter? Would that mean having to write an allocator?

• how do i install a game patch on an external hard drive

  I have a 2tb external hard drive and I want to install battlefield 1942 on it. i can get the game on the hard drive without problems, and it runs great. the problem is that i have an outdated version, and i need to install a patch. thats when it gets iffy. i get the patch and start the install, and it finishes, but it doesnt install to the game itself. it goes to its own seperate folder, and that does nothing to the game. the patch installer doesnt ask me where the game is, and so im thinking that it cant find the game itself, and then screws up. any help would be great!

  Ok, so im trying to work out the fastest way of storing data on my page without slowing the page load: I need to store information in the page to be later used by jquery. My page is an events page and i want to attach data to each event anchor. there are 100+ events to attach data to. The events anchors are created with a php loop, so i could create the data elements within this loop using either use un-semantic tags ie *rel="some_data"* create a jquery.data() for each iteration of the loop or i could run the loop again, separately, this time inside script tags with jquery.data(); would really appreciate any thoughts on this!

• PHP attempting to make JavaScript friendly timestamp, failing, returns 1.34899651119E+12

  Well, not sure whats going on. I have been trying to follow by examples I have found here on stack, on google, even an answer someone gave me a week+ ago, which unfortunately I wasn't able to test until today. Anyway I am attempting to generate a javascript friendly timestamp via php so I can get my times synced up. The best logic I could find overall was something dealing with microtime. However that doesn't seem to work as expected, not even in the slightest. Right now I am using microtime(true)*1000; and am getting 1.34899651119E+12 for the result. Did I some how manage to mess up that one tiny line of code, Im not sure.
