• Facebook page: How to add a customized box at the bottom left side of wall tab?

  Dear all, I have a question about Facebook Page: (NOT user profile page, I mean a facebook page where you can become a fan) How to add a customized box at the bottom left side of wall tab? (I am the page creator/admin) Please don't just give an answer "add the box to the page". Cause I really don't know how. Also, it seems that putting $facebook-api_client-profile_setFBML and $facebook-api_client-profile_setInfo for the application won't provide a way for the page to add the box. Below is an example image that is done by the other. I have circled the box at the image. I would like to know how to do the same to the page that I owned. Many thanks for reading.

• Django i18n: makemessages only on site level possible?

  I have several strings in my site that don't belong to any app, for example {% block title %}{% trans "Login" %}{% endblock %} or a modified authentication form used to set the locale cookie class AuthenticationFormWithLocaleOption(AuthenticationForm): locale = forms.ChoiceField(choices = settings.LANGUAGES, required = False, initial = preselectedLocale, label = _("Locale/language")) Now when I execute django-admin.py makemessages --all -e .html,.template in the site directory, it extracts the strings from all Python, .html and .template files, including those in my apps. That is because I develop my apps inside that directory: Directory structure: sitename myapp1 myapp2 Is there any way to extract all strings that are not in my apps? The only solution I found is to move the app directories outside the site directory structure, but I'm using bzr-externals (similar to git submodules or svn externals) so that doesn't make sense in my case. Moving stuff that needs translation into a new app is also possible but I don't know if that is the only reasonable solution.

  I have been searching pretty hard for info out on the net to explain exactly what Restful routing is but I haven't had any success. There are a lot of resources but not a who lot make sense to me. I'm familiar with Ruby On Rails's routing system and well as how Code Igniter and PhpCake route things but is there more to it than having a centralized location where you give out routes based on a directory structure? • How can I launch an application as Administrator after a WiX MSI has completed?

  Hi there I want to launch an application with admin rights after I have completed an installation using a WiX based MSI. I can launch the application just fine, on XP but with Windows 7, it's an issue. The application has a manifest embedded in it that says it should run as administrator and I've changed the impersonate attribute in the Custom Action to "no". I can't change the execute attribute to deferred, as this only works before the InstallFinalize action and I need it after the user has clicked Finish in the MSI. • coldfusion class path for multiple services - only recognizing first directory

  Hi, I am trying to use multiple web services on a single CF page. I have entered the stubs directory for each of the web services in the ColdFusion Class Path within administrator server settings java and jvm paths are listed separated by commas: c:\coldfusion9\stubs\ws1,c:\coldfusion9\stubs\ws2 for some reason, only the web service whose stub path is listed first will work. When I try to call the second web service, I get a "web service operation ... cannot be found" but if i switch the order of paths listed in the admin settings and restart the service, the web service listed first now will work. any ideas on how to manage multiple web services and their stubs ? thanks!

• jQuery wait for ajax call to be over before continuing

  Hi all, I have a problem with a jQuery ajax call. I need to wait for the call to be finished in order to return a value. However, the script seems to jump ahead and not wait for the call to be over. my function then returns "undefined". I have tried to use the .ajax() method and set the value of async to false, but this would not work either. I could I get my function to return the value that I could through the ajax call? And in almost all views, I have to do some common jobs like query Site model against database with the site_id. Also, I have to pass site_id whenever I invoke request.route_path.   I am trying to use the Google Contacts API to connect to a user's contact information, on my Google apps domain. Generating an access_token using the gdata api's ContactsService clientlogin function while using the API key for my project works fine, but I would prefer to not store the user's credentials, and from the information I have found that method uses OAuth1.0 So, to use OAuth2.0 I have: Generated a Service Account in the developer's console for my project Granted access to the service account for the scope of https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/ in the Google apps domain admin panel Attempted to generate credentials using SignedJwtAssertionCredentials: credentials = SignedJwtAssertionCredentials( service_account_name=service_account_email, private_key=key_from_p12_file, scope='https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/', sub=user_email') The problem I am running into is that attempting to generate an access token using this method fails. It succeeds in generating the token when I remove the sub parameter, but then that token fails when I try to fetch the user's contacts. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

  What is the common pattern to structure web application where part of it has to be secured. So lets say I have page_a and page_b which do not need to be secured, although should display login information (login fields or login details once user logged in). This web app. also would have secured pages (admin, checkout or similar) secure_page_c and secure_page_d. My questions are: What is the common folder structure for such assuming I code in php with no frameworks? Also how shall I deal with session variables in case user navigates lets say from secure_page_b to non secure page_a or vice versa? • Getting a permission error when trying to connect to sql database

  I have a sql server on a dedicated machine, running SQL 2008. I have the IP of the box, a database setup on it. I've built a small script that just does a connection test, and when I run it, I get the following error. Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I've been told by the admin that SQL remote access has been granted for my IP address. Anybody know what's wrong?

• Creating a virtual, data-driven section of a Wordpress-powered site

  Hello all, I want to create a plugin for wordpress to automatically serve pages containing data pulled from a provider's API. The API returns one or more records containing data for that record and I simply want to have the plugin intercept the request, call the API with parameters pulled from the request URI and display the data using a template that I can either let them upload to the server or let them copy and paste into the plugins admin settings. For example, I may want one of my wordpress installations to show products pulled from such an API under the url "example.com/products". The plugin would catch that request, extract the variables from the URL, call the API and render the template with the returned results. I'd like to avoid requiring editing the .htaccess file like some caching plugins do. Some of the admins of these pages won't know how to do that or simply won't have access to the .htaccess file. • Django ORM dealing with MySQL BIT(1) field

  In a Django application, I'm trying to access an existing MySQL database created with Hibernate (a Java ORM). I reverse engineered the model using: $ manage.py inspectdb > models.py This created a nice models file from the Database and many things were quite fine. But I can't find how to properly access boolean fields, which were mapped by Hibernate as columns of type BIT(1). The inspectdb script by default creates these fields in the model as TextField and adds a comment saying that it couldn't reliably obtain the field type. I changed these to BooleanField but it doesn't work (the model objects always fetch a value of true for these fields). Using IntegerField won't work as well (e.g. in the admin these fields show strange non-ascii characters). Any hints of doing this without changing the database? (I need the existing Hibernate mappings and Java application to still work with the database).

• Writable folder by all users on the same pc

  I have a desktop .NET WPF application witch uses an embedded database (SQLite). Where to put the database file ? It's the same database for all users. I tried to use CommonAppData but it's not writable by non-admin users. So I tried to use a custom installer action to give write rights to all users to this folder but it fails on domain PCs. The code is: DirectorySecurity security = Directory.GetAccessControl(appDataPath); FileSystemAccessRule rule = new FileSystemAccessRule("Users", FileSystemRights.WriteData, InheritanceFlags.ContainerInherit | InheritanceFlags.ObjectInherit, PropagationFlags.InheritOnly, AccessControlType.Allow); security.AddAccessRule(rule); Directory.SetAccessControl(appDataPath, security); Would ".\Users" insead of "Users" work on a domain ? Is this the best approach ? Is there any other folder I could use ?

  I'm currently taking the MS SQL 2K5 Admin course at a local college and ran into a problem with the Log Shipping part. My setup is the following: Windows 7 x64 SQL 2005 SP3 2 SQL server instances on the same machine Log Shipping settings: Performed full then log back up of Primary Manually restore on Secondary in STANDBY MODE Insert a new record into the table Set up Log Shipping on Primary using SQL Authenication login to connect to the Secondary Set up timers and copy destination on Secondary Monitoring instance not being used I set up a shared folder for WORKGROUP so both instances on the machine can read & write to it. I can see transaction logs generated and copied as defined by the Transaction Shipping wizard. However, the specified table on the Secondary instance is not updating.

• Magento - Mage::getModel not working on remote server

  I'm struggling with an issue for which I can't find an explanation. I have two development environments that I use for my projects. I created a simple module for Magento and I tested it on one environment. After overcoming all Magento's complications, the module works as expected. This is on XAMPP. I then copied the module to the development Linux environment, on a hosted server, and it crashes miserably. I did some debugging, and I found out that a call to Mage::getModel() returns bool(false) instead of the instance of the Model I requested. I double checked all files and directories, and they match. Database is not involved (not from my side, at least, I don't need tables) and both environments have only me as a User, with Admin permissions. Any suggestion on where should I start looking is welcome, thanks.

• Running Services.msc as a different User C#

  Hi, I have a requirement to create a simple windows forms application that allows an admin user to manage the Services on remote servers. We don't want to give the admins the usernames and passwords to the servers so these will be encrypted and stored in a database. My question is whether or not it is possible to spawn a Services.msc window when impersonating one of the users stored within the database? I have looked at the ProcessStartInfo class but because Services.msc is not an executable it does not seem to like executing this. Any ideas on a simple way of doing the actual impersonation and loading of Services.msc - say off a button click? Thanks

  I'm looking for ideas / open source frameworks to use for creating individual Analytics for user profiles and all the other profile types. Users will have different custom metrics, businesses willl have seperate metrics, the admin section will have seperate, Advertises will have seperate, etc. So basically the goal is to have 1 framework in place for all Analytics, which will be custom user to user and even use that for the system analytic needs also. It will include data analytics as there will be user ratings/reviews to perfomr data mining on for businesses, USers will have basic reporting on their needs (like friend demographics, filter by different preferences, etc).
