    I need to be able to display and edit a hierarchical list of tasks in a C# app. It can either be a Windows form app, or ASP.NET. Basically, I want similar behaviour to the way Microsoft Project handles tasks. The control would need to: 1) Maintain a list of items made up of several fields 2) Each item can have a number of children (at least 3 levels of nesting) 3) It needs to be very easy to change the parents/children of an item 4) It needs to be very easy to edit the fields (as fast as changing cells in Excel) 5) It needs to be very easy to reorder the items by dragging and dropping or cut and paste 6) If I can easily connect the control to a database, even better Anyone got any recommendations for controls for me to look at?

  • Hibernate: how to maintain insertion order

    I have a list of entities where creation order is important, but they do not contain a timestamp to use for sorting. Entities are added to the end of the list as they are created so they will be ordered correctly in the list itself. After persisting the list using Hibernate the entities appear in the database table in the order that they were created. However when retrieving the list using a new Hibernate session the list is now in reverse order of insertion/creation. Is this expected behaviour? Is there any way to retrieve the list in the same order as it appears in the table? The primary key is a UUID, and the list of entities should always have been created on the same IP address and JVM. This mean sorting by UUID is a possibility but I'd rather not make assumptions. Another possibility is if the list is guaranteed to always come out in reverse order I could always just work through it backwards.

    I have to write a method that returns a linked list with all the nodes that are common to two linked lists using recursion, without loops. For example, first list is 2 - 5 - 7 - 10 second list is 2 - 4 - 8 - 10 the list that would be returned is 2 - 10 I am getting nowhere with this.. What I have been think of was to check each value of the first list with each value of the second list recursively but the second list would then be cut by one node everytime and I cannot compare the next value in the first list with the the second list. I hope this makes sense... Can anyone help?

    I'm a newb to Python so apologies in advance if my question looks trivial. From a psycopg2 query i have a result in the form of a list of tuples looking like: [(1, 0), (1, 0), (1, 1), (2, 1), (2, 2), (2, 2), (2, 2)] Each tuple represents id of a location where event happened and hour of the day when event took place. I'd like to reshape and aggregate this list with subtotals for each hour in each location, to a form where it looks like: [(1, 0, 2), (1, 1, 1), (1, 2, 0), (2, 0, 0), (2, 1, 1), (2, 3, 3)] Where each touple will now tell me that, for example: in location 1, at hour 0 there were 2 events; in location 1, at hour 1 there was 1 event; and so on... If there were 0 events at certain hour, I still would like to see it, as for example 0 events at 0 hours in location 2: (2, 0, 0) How could I implement it in Python?

    i use read_line_to_codes(Stream,Line) to read a line from a file .. first is there any way to read a line and assign it to a term in prolog ?? if not i managed to read a line and put it in this char list .. now this char list contains spaces .. which is bad .. so i want to convert it to a term or a string in prolog so that i can process it easier .. spaces cannot be atoms so thats a problem .. i appreciate the help !!

    I am writing a servlet which will examine a directory on the server (external to the web container), and recursively search for certain files (by certain files, I mean files that are of a certain extension as well as a certain naming convention). Once these files are found, the servlet responds with a long list of all of the found files (including the full path to the files). My problem is that there are so many files and directories that my servlet goes extremely slow. I was wondering if there was a best practice or existing servlet for this type of problem? Would it be more efficient to simply compile the entire list of files and do the filtering via js/jquery on the client side?

And I later want to wrap it with a function bar: (defun bar (x &rest args) (foo x 100 args)) Assume bar was then called like this: (bar 50 1 2 3) With this setup, args is a list within the body of bar that holds the trailing parameters, so when I pass it to foo, instead of getting the equivalent of (foo 50 100 1 2 3) I of course get (foo 50 100 '(1 2 3)). If these were macros, I would use `(foo ,x 100 ,@args) within the body of bar to splice args into the function call. ,@ only works inside a backtick-quoted list, however. How can I do this same sort of splicing within a regular function?

    I'm building a GUI that includes a list with quite a lot of items. I allow the user to add/delete/edit those items. Up until now my update method called in the controller implied an entire JList reset (with its obvious performance issues). Now that there are hundreds of items available, updating the entire list is not fezable any longer. Does anyone know of a tutorial or can share an example (I haven't found any to suit my needs so far) in which the JList is updated something like JList.update(startIndex, endIndex);?     Given a list A = [1 2 3 4 5 6] Is there any idiomatic (Pythonic) way to iterate over it as though it were B = [(1, 2) (3, 4) (5, 6)] other than indexing? That feels like a holdover from C: for a1,a2 in [ (A[i], A[i+1]) for i in range(0, len(A), 2) ]: I can't help but feel there should be some clever hack using itertools or slicing or something. (Of course, two at a time is just an example; I'd like a solution that works for any n.) Edit: related http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1162592/iterate-over-a-string-2-or-n-characters-at-a-time-in-python but even the cleanest solution (accepted, using zip) doesn't generalize well to higher n without a list comprehension and *-notation.

    Hi guys, I have a Products:List<Product> class. I'd like to make it so that every time that I remove an item from that list, my program decreases a counter. Is there a way to do it without overriding the Remove method or decreasing it manually? And if there is none, anybody knows where I can find the code for the Remove method? Thanks! I thought about associating the Remove method to an event, but I don't know how to do it without overriding it or creating another method with the Remove method inside it. When i hover over one of the list-items i want this one to have the .selected class. So every item should only have the class applied when im over, as soon as i leave the item the class get's removed and the next one has the class.

    Hi, Scenario is as follows:- I want to reverse the direction of the singly linked list, In other words, after the reversal all pointers should now point backwards.. Well the algorithm should take linear time. The solution that i have thought of using another datastructure A Stack.. With the help of which the singly linked list would be easily reversed, with all pointers pointing backwards.. But i am in doubt, that whether the following implementation yeild linear time complexity.. Please comment on this.. And if any other efficient algorithm is in place, then please discuss.. Thanks.
