• how to sort a multidemensional array by an inner key

  i have this enormous array that i am pulling from an API for BattleField Bad Company 2, and the soldier stats can be pulled as a multi dimensional array with an inner array for each soldier, however the API sormats it sorting the soldiers by name alphabetically, i want to sort them by rank (which is just another key within that soldiers array). ive been trying to figure this out for days, anyone have any ideas? • Efficient Map Overlays in and drawing Lines on Android Google Map...

  Hi Friends, I want to do the following and am kind of stuck on these for a few days.... 1) I have used helloItemizedOverlay to add about 150 markers and it gets very very slow.....any idea what to do ? I was thinking about threads....(handler) ... 2) I was trying to draw poly lines ( I have encoded polylines, but have managed to decoded those) that move when I move the map..... 3) I was looking for some sort of a timer class that executes, say, every 1 minute or so.... 4) I was also looking for ways to clear the Google map from all the markers/lines etc.... • Why did the aspnet_client folder come back in ASP.NET 4?

  I recently upgraded my MVC 1 project (ASP.NET 3.5) to MVC 2 (ASP.NET 4). I noticed there is now a folder "aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319" under the site root. This folder is empty... I'm just wondering if anyone knows why it was created. I remember the aspnet_client folder from the days of .NET 1.1, but I thought it was obsoleted when .NET 2.0 came out. For example, see the answers in these two stackoverflow posts: What is the aspnet_client folder in my ASP.NET website? What is the aspnet_client folder for under the IIS structure? • How to make parameters optional when using Rails named routes?

  I have a named route: map.find '/find/:category/:state/:search_term/:permalink', :search_term=>nil, :controller=>'find', :action=>'show_match' and the following URL matches it & works OK: http://localhost:3000/find/cars/ca/TestSeachTerm/bumpedupphoto-test but if I take out the 2nd last parameter i.e. "TestSearchTerm", then the route fails to get matched, even though I have :search_term=nil in the route. http://localhost:3000/find/cars/ca//bumpedupphoto-test Can anyone see what I am doing wrong? Being trying to solve this for a few days now. Thanks!

• PHP - CSRF - How to make it works in all tabs?

  Hi there, I have readed about how to prevent CSRF-attacks in the last days. I am going to update the token in every pageload, save the token in the session and make a check when submitting a form. But what if the user has, lets say 3 tabs open with my website, and I just store the last token in the session? This will overwrite the token with another token, and some post-action is going to fail. Do I need to store all tokens in the session, or is there a better solution to get this working? My app does host several webviews for some oAuth-related login scenarios. How should I go about trying to figure out how to fix this? I've tried looking on grepcode to find the source, but I'm unable to find a matching line number that makes sense. Is my Grepcode-fu weak?

• Modifying an old Windows program not to call exit after a keypress without source access

  I have an older C++ Windows program that I've been asked to get run in a kiosk style environment for a student project. From the main menu, hitting ESC will exit the program, which is undesirable. In ye olden days I would have trapped the keyboard interrupt or whatever and dug around to NOOP whatever JMP or CALL was getting referenced in the case statement that likely decides all that, but on Windows everything goes through various registered event handlers, and I haven't done any windows internals work in about 10 years. Is there a good tool to breakpoint a program on certain WM_EVENT (WM_KEYDOWN being a prime target) messages or similar, so that I can narrow down where in the executable the check is made? I'm currently stepping back from various potential system calls made before the various thread cleanups and final exit calls but it seems like there has to be a better way to do this that I'm forgetting.

• Calculating the average color between two colors in PHP, using an index number as reference value

  Hi all! In PHP, I am trying to calculate the average color (in hex) between to different hex colors.. However, I also need to be able to supply an index number between 0.0 and 1.0. So for example: I have $color1 = "#ffffff" and $color2 = "#0066CC" .. If I would write a function to get the average color and I would supply 0.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#ffffff". If I would supply 1.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#0066CC".. However if I would supply 0.2, the function would need to return an average color between the two colors, but still closer to color1 than to color2.. If I would supply index number 0.5, I would get the exact average color of both colors.. I have been trying to accomplish this for several days now but I can't seem to figure it out..! Any help would therefor be greatly appreciated!.. Thanks!

  Hi, I bought a VPS a few days back and had a domain name registered. It gave me 2 nameservers. I only have shell access (no Cpanel/WHM) and it's running CentOS 5. I can visit my site with http://IP/ but not with http://domain.com. What changes do I need to make so that I can visit my site with http://domain.com. I'm really new at this and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

• So how I can control the page contents loading sequence in dojo

  Hi there, I'm using dojo for our UI's, and would like to load certain part of page contents in sequence. For example, for a certain stock, I'd like to load stock general information, such as ticker, company name, key stats, etc. and a grid with the last 30 days open/close prices. Different contents will be fetched from the server separately. Now, I'd like first load the grid so the user can have something to look at, then, say, start loading of key stats which is a large data set takes longer time to load. How do I do this. I tried: dojo.addOnLoad(function() { startGrid(); //mock grid startup function which works fine getKeyStats(); //mock key stat getter function also works fine }); But dojo is loading getKeyStats(), then startGrid() here for some reason, and sequence doesn't seem be matter here. So how I can control the loading sequence at will? Thanks in advance! David

• WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

  I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? • Can't access web service when connected to the network :: HTTP 407

  Hi All, I have a console application that communicates with a web service. Both of them are on the same machine. When I am accessing the web service with the LAN disabled, it connects without a problem. But if the LAN is enabled and connected to our office network, I receive this error: "HTTP 407 Proxy Authentication required - The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is denied." We've been hunting the source of the problem for three days now. We have tried everything that we can think of. Any ideas what's causing the problem? Additional notes: - The machine is in a Workgroup setup but with DNS suffix (computer.local). When accessing the web service, we type the address as "http://machine.computer.local/service.asmx" I talked to the IT guys and they said that we don't have an ISA server installed There is no "proxy" set in IE. The machine is in mint condition.

  When we design a database table for a DVD rental company, we actually have a movie, which is an abstract idea, and a physical DVD, so for each rental, we have a many-to-many table with fields such as: TransactionID UserID DvdID RentedDate RentalDuration AmountPaid but what about with virtual goods? For example, if we let a user rent a movie online for 3 days, we don't actually have a DVD, so we may have a table: TransactionID UserID MovieID RentedDate RentalDuration AmountPaid should we create a record for each instance of "virtual good"? For example, what if this virtual good (the movie) can be authorized to be watched on 3 devices (with 3 device IDs), then should we then create a virtual good record in the VirtualGoods table, each with a VirtualGoodID and then another table that has VirtualGoodID DeviceID to match up the movie with the DeviceIDs? We can also just use the TransactionID as the VirtualGoodID. Are there circumstances where we may want to create a record to record this "virtual good" in a VirtualGoods table?

• Passenger apache default page error

  Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I asked it a couple of days ago on Server Fault but am getting no love. (It is sort of related to rails development...) The Question I just installed Passenger and the Passenger Pref Pane on OSX. However, when I try to browse to one of my Rails applications I just get the default Apache "it works!" page. I've checked the vhost definitions and they seem ok so I can't seem to figure out whats wrong... I've tried reinstalling passenger and the pref pane and restarting apache but to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this? My vhost definition looks like this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName boilinghot.local DocumentRoot "/Users/ganesh/Code/boilinghot/public" RailsEnv development <Directory "/Users/ganesh/Code/boilinghot/public"> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost>

• Trouble using eval() with cython

  I was trying to speed up some code, and then I tried compiling a class and a function using cython and WOW! I havn't measured it yet but it looks at least 10x faster. I first looked at cython just two days ago, I'm very impressed! However, I can't get eval() to work. def thefirst(int a): d = eval('1+2+a') return d I compile this to module1.pyd file and call it with the python file: from module1 import thefirst x = thefirst(2) print x This returns: NameError: name 'a' is not defined. All help is appreciated.

• OpenGL ES view: how to orient it to landscape?

  Looking for clues about orienting an OpenGL ES app in landscape, most information I found dates back from 2008, most of it refering to the early versions of the SDK. Apparently, back in the days, in the case of GL it was recommended to not rotate the view, but instead to apply the rotation as a GL transformation. Is it still the case with the current SDKs? It would be so much simpler to simply rotate the window: all the touch events would be in sync with the rotation. In other words: how to set up an OpenGL view in landscape mode?

• Entire website in Silverlight 4. Practical or not?

  Similar question: Using Silverlight for an entire website? That question is over 2 years old. Silverlight has gone a long way from Silverlight 1.0 Beta 1 to Silverlight 4.0 Final. Would it be practical to create a full Silverlight web application these days? I plan to deploy the website sometime around Q1 2011. I have thought about going ASP.NET + AJAX way, but it just won't give me the same rich features as Silverlight. A lot of people when they hear ASP.NET or Silverlight instantly think about business or enterprise applications. But all I want to create is a fansite, with rich user interface and a great "WOW" factor.

  Hi there, I started two days ago with android, gone through the hello android stuff and also started to read the Hello Android book, which is great. PROBLEM: I use in my app - VERY EASY APP- the XML output. So basically the main activity just tells the android to show the XML layout of main. But what if I have in the activity - code defined integer variable and I want this integer variable also be shown on the display? How do I PUSH the integer variable to the XML??? From main XML reference to other strings in XML is easy - @string/app_name ... but how do I use the integer variable from the activity? Please help Thank you Oliver

• uploading a i-phone application to apple store??

  i have been trying to uplaod an application to apple store for 2 days now..first they said the provisioning profile was not right due to which i had to make a new one and upload it again now after that problem was solved while uploading the new binary it said the version was same with the previous minor version(1.0 - which someone else uploaded in my company)..then i changed the version to 1.1 by changing it in target info properties..then i cleaned all targets quite the xcode,restarted the xcode and build the project again..it succeeded and now wen i uploaded it it still says the same error version same with the previous minor version is there any other way of changing the version number though in my info.plist file it is showing version:1.1??

• SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file fail on Linux (part 2)

  For some reason, my calls to OpenSSL's SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file have started to fail (again) on Ubuntu. My previous post concerning this function; http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2028862/ssl-ctx-use-privatekey-file-fail-under-linux With the above fix, I have been able to use things fine until a couple of days ago. I have no idea why. The error string I'm now getting is error:140B0009:SSL routines:SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file:PEM lib with 336265225 as error code. What is the problem? Additional info: The file passed to the function exist (SSL_CTX_use_certificate_file is passed the same file). The code in the callback function for the password is also not called (at least apparantly not according to the debugger). Everything works fine on Windows.
