• Two SSL certs for a domain in DirectAdmin

  If I were to get 2 SSL certificates, one for example.com and one for www.example.com, is there a way to install them both on the site example.com in DirectAdmin? The default interface only allows installing one for both versions. If not, can I separate the 2 domains into 2 sites? One of them would only be a redirection, so there wouldn't be any duplication of site files. (Please don't answer with "one certificate should work for both". It doesn't always. This is a DirectAdmin question)

• Can I prevent Internet Explorer 8 from running scripts until the page is loaded?

  When trying to veiw a number of different websites in IE8, I get the following error message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917) On investigating the error message, it appears the script is trying to modify parts of the page before it is fully loaded. Is there a setting in IE8 I can change to prevent scripts from running until the page is fully loaded? EDIT: The sites in question used to work just fine, until I had to re-install IE8 for a seperate issue. Then they stopped working.

• sharepoint 2007 access denied when accessing user profiles via ssp

  Guys I have a really strange problem in regards to sharepoint mysites today I go into user profiles and properties in order to setup a property all of a sudden I get access denied. First off I know that I'm logged in with the correct account after the access denied I decided to click on personalization services and permissions I than get An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information: Cannot complete this action. I'm not seeing anything in the server application logs either. So have any of you guys seen this before is there some kind of way to grant a user account the manage profiles right permission using stsadm. BTW all other fucntions of the ssp are working fine so my question is if the user profiles and my sites of a ssp tanks how do you repair that portion of the ssp? BTW the user accounts that I'm using are site collection owners and also they have full control at the web application level. • Windows 2003 Server Intermittent DNS Issues

  Looking for a little help here. I have a Windows 2003 DNS Server set up on our network. Lately computers on our LAN have been, at times, unable to resolve a certain sub domain for our website whereas other times the request is resolved just fine. During these periods of "downtime" all other network activity (i.e web sites, internal resolutions, network shares, etc.) remains normal. I can tell it is a problem with our DNS server because the resolution always works from outside our network. I'm hoping someone out there has experienced something similar or could at least offer me place to start troubleshooting. Thanks!

• Web Site Monitoring/Tracking Freeware

  I need to be able to track Web Sites visited on a computer and send them to an email address on a daily basis. Keylogger software seems like too much, I want something lightweight that simply monitors websites visited and forwards them on. I was hoping for freeware, but if it's cheap/simple and easy to use I'm willing to pay. I know similar questions have been asked about website traffic monitoring, but it's not quite the same thing, and I can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere. Thank you ahead of time.

• Best way to troubleshoot apache not starting?

  We have recently gotten a backup server to mirror all our data onto in case the primary server goes down. I've gotten all the sites data updated through rsync, and all the apache config and databases updated. Both machines are on Ubuntu 9 (9.04 on the primary, 9.10 on the backup). So everything seems synced up for the most part at this point (still need to figure out user syncing), and I try to start Apache. I get * Starting web server apache2 [fail] Nothing else indicating what the problem could be. I know I don't have enough info to expect a solution from you guys, so I'd just like to know where I can go from here to further investigate this issue. Would there be any error logs for this? Thanks!

• SharePoint Returning a 401.1 for a Specific User/Computer

  We have a SharePoint Services 3.0 site set up supporting about 300 users right now. This report is isolated and has never been duplicated. We have one AD user who cannot log into the SharePoint site with his account from his machine and is subsequently returned a 401.1 error. If any other user tries to log on with their account from his machine, it works okay. If he moves to another machine and logs on, it works okay. The only solution to this point has been to install FireFox on the machine. When he authenticates with FF, everything is okay. Remedies tried so far: Cleared cookies/cache Turned off/on Integrated Windows Authentication in IE Downgraded IE 8 to IE 6 Removed site from Intranet Sites zone Renamed the machine Disjoined/Rejoined Domain

• How can I force my browser to search Google in English?

  I'm too bored of seeing sites like Google and such show up in my native language, I would rather like them to be in English. Yet, I have to explicitly change the URL to .com and en and that kind of parameters in order for them to show up in English. Can I somehow force this? So, how is Google configured? However, it is set to English on the site itself so it has to be my browser: Then, how does my browser land up on non-english pages, like Google? It usually shows up in non-English when I'm performing a search, which uses: {google:baseURL}search?{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:instantFieldTrialGroupParameter}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s When performing a search, it fills these variables in with non-english values. • Elevate the weight of browsing history in Google Chrome's autocomplete

  Google Chrome has the feature of auto-completing web addresses while you type them in the address bar. Alas, it gives absurdly more weight to Google's own auto-suggest v.s. my own browsing history, which seems a bit foolish - if I regularly (i.e. twice a week) check a certain website with the keywords "foo bar ponies" in its url, it is reasonable to expect that I will want to visit that site again and not other sites. While a bit subjective, to the very least I would expect such URLs to be in the list Chrome suggests, even if not at the top. Is there some plugin/secret option that alters the default behavior?

  Many of us have embraced the podcasting revolution enabled by rss feeds and podcatchers. Alot of sites now broadcast live streams of what is eventually edited into a podcast. In most cases listening to the live stream gets you the info several days sooner then the podcast. So I was wondering if anybody knows of a notification protocol / app that allows me to auto tune into certain streams when they go live, or based on a schedule. I imagine twitter could be used for the notification but It'd be better not to be tied to a proprietary service.   I'm using Apache 2.2 and let it serve domains foo.example.com and bar.example.com with <VirtualHost> statements: <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:80> ServerName foo.example.com </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:80> ServerName bar.example.com </VirtualHost> My problem is, that I need to add configuration options, that are only targeted at foo.example.com, in a separate file (let's say, /etc/apache/sites-enabled/foo.conf). This file will be included, before the VirtualHost statement is issued, but it can't be embedded inside it. Can I (and if yes, how) target configuration settings to foo.example.com requests only, outside the VirtualHost container?

  I have an apache2 server running on my ubuntu system. I have two sites enabled: default (ServerName localhost) site2 (ServerName jslib) I run a windows Virtual Box Machine, to be able to test my stuff in IE. If i type the ubuntu's IP in the addressbar i get the localhost. I was wondering how can i access both (or more as i need it) from other machines. Thanks update I have configured the windows' hosts file like so: 10.0.2.2 localhost 10.0.2.2 jslib It works, but i am really looking for something that i can configure on the server side, and then just change the value of the URL, am i crazy?

• I would like to have a publicly accessable linux box hosted elsewhere. Who provides this service?

  I would like to have a general purpose linux server available and publicly accessible. I understand that there are no lack of web-hosting companies, but I might want more control over the machine than is typical. I would want the ability to install software, such as an SVN server, and I would like to be able to expose various port numbers, as I may have a variety of extremely low traffic sites that I would want to have available. Obviously, one option is to host such a machine in my home. Is that my only option? Or is what I describe out there, possible as a virtual machine on a larger server?

• ASA Slow IPSec Performance

  I have a IPSec link between two sites over ASA 5520s running 8.4(3) and I am getting extremly poor performance when traffic passes over the VPN. CPU on the device is 13%, Memory at 408 MB, and active VPN sessions 2 so the load on the device is particularly low. • Backing up a Linux VPS with RSync to Vista

  I've been working to setup a Linux VPS to host a couple of Wordpress sites and eventually a Mercurial server. I've setup one site and things have gone well. However, before I start moving other things to the VPS, I need to setup a backup solution. My provider, Linode, suggest RSync (among a couple of other options) to do backups. I've seen a few posts on this site that suggests other backup solutions including going to the Amazon Cloud but that costs money and the VPS is all the money I want to spend on this for the time being. So, to help solve that I want to have my backup computer be my home desktop computer. Assuming I'm using RSync, is it possible to use my Vista based home computer to become the destination for the backup? And if it is possible, what type of command or connection would I need to configure on the vista machine? Any insight would be helpful. It's probably obvious, but I've never used RSync.

• Corosync - stopping the service crashes the server

  I am trying to set up a test cluster on a Xen Server with 2 paravirtualized CentOS 5.4 machines. I am using Pacemaker+Corosync, and following the instructions found at http://www.clusterlabs.org/doc/Cluster_from_Scratch.pdf and other sites. Anyway, when I try to manually stop the corosync service, about 80% of the times the whole VM locks up with the message "Waiting for corosync services to unload" and I am forced to shut the machine down manually. For the remaining 20%, the VM keeps responding and adds dots to the above message, but it won't actually stop the service. There aren't many resources on the internet about this particular error. Any ideas about this? Thanks in advance.

• Firefox - bizarre bug

  So... this happens to my Firefox browser in like 5 days after I install it. After I reinstall it behaves normal. It doesn't display all sites like this. Same site on Explorer looks as expected. Restarting the browser doesn't seem to help. I do have installed 2 plugins or add-ons (Adblock & VideoHelper) but I'm almost sure this doesn't explain it. and I didn't messed with the settings. So... anyone?

From other websites, I've found out how to set and remove them, using both xxx-WebConfiguration and xxx-WebConfigurationProperty. • CPanel: Every url is being redirected to http://:2083

  On my cpanel server, I restored about 50 accounts from crashed cpanel server. All of the sites were working fine, but suddenly without changing anything, every site started to get redirected to url "http://:2083/"., There is nothing in logs, no errors. when i do wget it says: wget grinfeld.com.br --2012-09-04 13:18:23-- http://grinfeld.com.br/ Resolving grinfeld.com.br... 198.101.221.254 Connecting to grinfeld.com.br|198.101.221.254|:80... connected. • mod_ssl RPM conflict

  I build Apache httpd into an RPM using these sites: http://erikwebb.net/blog/compile-and-install-apache-24-red-hat-enterprise-linux-rhel-6-or-centos-6 http://ramblin-dude.blogspot.com/2013/04/compiling-rpm-for-httpd-on-rhel-57.html I was successful at building apr* and httpd*. However, when I try to install httpd using rpm -Uvh httpd-devel-2.2.25-1.x86_64.rpm httpd-2.2.25-1.x86_64.rpm mod_ssl-2.2.25-1.x86_64.rpm I get the following error: package mod_ssl-2.2.3-82.el5_9.x86_64 (which is newer than mod_ssl-2.2.25-1.x86_64) is already installed. I have httpd 2.2.3-82 installed. Do I need to remove it first? Seems counterintuitive.

• Do all domains on the same shared hosting server have the same IP or ID

  Here's what I've got: siteA.com and siteB.com are hosted on hostgator. They're hosted on the same account of a shared hosting server (not VPS or dedicated). script.php is an external site that each of these 2 sites are accessing. I noticed that when siteA.com or siteB.com access the outside script.php, the script identifies them both as 1a.12.12ab.static.theplanet.com (apparently because hostgator uses theplanet.com servers). The fact that they're identified as the same value isn't surprising because after all they're hosted on the same account /home/user123/public_html. What I'm wondering about is how about other websites that are hosted on the same shared hosting server, but under other accounts. Basically other websites that are under another developer's control, but just happen to share the same hardware (hosting server). Do they also have the exact same identifier 1a.12.12ab.static.theplanet.com or that changes by account?

• Likelihood of a hard drive PCB replacement working?

  I have a 1.5TB Seagate 7200.11 that died. The platter still spins up initially when attached to a machine, but then the drive clicks and spins down. Then the cycle repeats. I've found a few sites that sell replacement PCBs, however I don't know if the PCB is the issue, or something else. Given the symptoms above, is it at all likely that a PCB replacement would help? If not, I won't waste my money on the PCB replacement. Note: I put the drive in an external ESATA controller and tried hooking it up to a Linux box here at work and got some error messages in the logs. I can post them if anyone thinks it will help in determining whether a PCB swap would fix the problem I'm running into.
