  i have urls like http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources&s=view&id=938 but i want urls like http://mysite.com/resources http://mysite.com/resources/view/938 instead of making hundreds of rewrite rules i wonder if it would be possible to just have one? Ive head this is possible by "getting the uri and splitting it into parts" and then just add a rewrite rule for index.php but how? could someone give an example or link a tutorial

  Hi, We are developing a client-server desktop application(winforms with sql server 2008, using LINQ-SQL).We are now finding many issues related to performance.These relate to querying too much data with LINQ , bad database design,not much caching etc.What do you suggest,we should do - how to go about solving these performance issues? One thing,I am doing is doing sql profiling,and trying to fix some queries.As far caching is concerned,we have static lists.But,how to keep them updated,we don't have any server side implementation.So,these lists can be stale,if someone changes data. regards

• Currying a function n times in Scheme

  I'm having trouble figuring out a way to curry a function a specified number of times. That is, I give the function a natural number n and a function fun, and it curries the function n times. For example: (curry n fun) Is the function and a possible application would be: (((((curry 4 +) 1) 2) 3) 4) Which would produce 10. I'm really not sure how to implement it properly.   I haven’t been able to find a good solution for this problem on the net (probably because switch, position, list and Python are all such overloaded words). It’s rather simple – I have this list: ['title', 'email', 'password2', 'password1', 'first_name', 'last_name', 'next', 'newsletter'] I’d like to switch position of 'password2' and 'password1' – not knowing their exact position, only that they’re right next to one another and password2 is first. I’ve accomplished this with some rather long-winded list-subscripting, but I wondered if someone could come up with something a bit more elegant?

  Hi I've had Jetty recommended as a good container for fast and simple development, in my case, Java Server Faces. I wish to use it with my Eclipse IDE (Version: 3.4.1), but quite frankly, can't figure out how. I've tried various outdated plugins, only with large amounts of errors in return, so I'm hoping someone could guide me from downloading the right version to installing it, and being able to press "RUN", and see a simple Hello World in JSP/JSF work.   I'm displaying images from outside my web root, like this: header('Content-type:image/png'); readfile($fullpath); The content-type: image/png is what confuses me. Someone else helped me out with this code, but I noticed that not all images are PNG. Many are jpg or gif. And still they are displayed successfully. does anyone know why?

My current pseudocode for this is: if(datastore.nameIsAvailable(name)){ datastore.createUser(name); } How do I make sure that in between the time when nameIsAvailable returns true, and the createUser is finished, another instance of my app doesn't create a user with the same name?
