  • Is there a way to change the color of plots in jQuery flot without redrawing the whole chart?

    I have a chart that I'm drawing using flot. I want to change the colors of the data plots when someone hovers over text. Currently, I am doing this by redrawing the entire chart each time I need to highlight something. This is pretty slow (about 30 milliseconds for a simple chart, as much as 100 for a more complicated chart). Since all I want to do is change the color, is there a faster solution?

  • Why don't all XSLT templates get executed at once?

    Refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1613454/retrieving-one-element-and-filter-by-another In the above linked posting, I don't understand why the two template blocks don't get executed upon in the incoming XML at the same time. As far I can can see, the XSL risks the second template executing for every Document element whether it is called with apply-templates or not. Could someone explain this to my stifled brain, please?     Hi, I have a fairly weird 'bug' with a simple query, and I vaguely remember reading the reason for it somewhere a long time ago but would love someone to refresh my memory. The table is a basic ID, Datetime table. The query is: select ID, Datetime from Table where Datetime <= '2010-03-31 23:59:59' The problem is that the query results include results where the Datetime is '2010-04-01 00:00:00'. The next day. Which it shouldn't. Anyone? Cheers Moo

    Consider the following snippet: puts 'hello'.gsub(/.+/, '\0 \\0 \\\0 \\\\0') This prints (as seen on ideone.com): hello hello \0 \0 This was very surprising, because I'd expect to see something like this instead: hello \0 \hello \\0 My argument is that \ is an escape character, so you write \\ to get a literal backslash, thus \\0 is a literal backslash \ followed by 0, etc. Obviously this is not how gsub is interpreting it, so can someone explain what's going on? And what do I have to do to get the replacement I want above?

    Let me explain what I'm trying to do. I want to make a simple box which counts down numbers at intervals I specify. For example, I'd like to set it to start at 150, and then I want to set it to drop by 15 every 30 seconds. Is this possible with AJAX/Javascript? If so, could someone point me in the right direction?
