  • How to implement context menu on key press instead of long click/tap

    I have a ListActivity and I want to implement context menu for each of the list elements. I know that the common way to do this is to show the context menu on long click/tap. I want to know if there is a way to show the context menu for each element on a key press(preferably the menu key). To rephrase my question, how can I trigger the context menu and not the options menu by pressing the menu key(or any other key).

    Hi, I'm trying to use this fairly standard line of code in my app: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] registerForRemoteNotificationTypes:(UIRemoteNotificationTypeAlert | UIRemoteNotificationTypeBadge | UIRemoteNotificationTypeSound)]; But am receiving the follow error: error: invalid conversion from 'int' to 'UIRemoteNotificationType' It works if I only use one of the notification types but fails every time if I try and use more than one. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    I am having a really annoying bug, which yet I don't know how to trace it. I have an activity with 3 tabs, each populated by adapters build by asynctasks. They are displaying well, navigation is fine. I've extended TabActivity. But whenever I hit the Back/Menu/Search button it halts, then after a while the OS displays me this warning: Sorry Activity Contacts (in application MyApp) is not responding. Force close or Wait. How can I trace this problem on the phone?

    I know this has something to do with Instruments, but well it's kind of confusing and searching for Instruments on Google doesn't help much. I'd like to know how well my app runs, like how much memory it uses. I just don't know where to find something like: "As close as we can tell from the simulator you'll app will currently be using xx MBs of RAM on a real iphone device." I need help on how to get this information.

    Has anyone implemented facebook "Like" on iPhone/iPad? I've done general Facebook Connect implementation before, but it appears they're phasing that out in favour of OAuth and the Graph API? We're trying to give users the ability to "Like" items of content in the app. Each item of content has a corresponding URL for its representation on the website. Will it be possible to implement this kind of functionality (without implementing anything on the server side)? And is there a library that will let us do this easily? Thanks

    Hi! I Created a grouped table view, and I noticed that placing an image in the imageView results in an image that is too large. It overlaps the rounded borders of the cell, which is horrible. I tried looking for a way to resize it, but I found many answers that didn't quite satisfy me. How would you do this? Which is the simplest way to go? This chapter isn't working at all. below is the sample code. data.plist is located in the resource folder.   • Unable to Access UILabel in UITableViewCell

    I am having trouble in accessing which is in the UITableViewCell, that i have placed in my main .xib file. That Label is connected to IBOutlet servicesCell. And the Label inside the table view cell is connected through IBOutlet serviceLabel. At runtime i am not getting the text which i am assining to that label.   • How to I make a navigation-based app?

    Yes, I know, most of you are thinking I'm an idiot, butt (kidding) I'm not. I've been searching everywhere for something on how to fully make a navigation-based iphone app, but all I've found is how to set up table views or navigation controllers. I haven't found anything on how to create a data model (something simple from arrays and dictionaries, SQLite and CoreData are a bit out of my scope) or navigate it. Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything like that? Thanks.
