  I need to distinguish between a Queens style address, from a valid ranged address, and an address with a unit#. For eg: Queens style: 123-125 Some Street, NY Ranged Address: 6414-6418 37th Ln SE, Olympia, WA 98503 Address with unit#: 1990-A Gildersleeve Ave, Bronx, NY. In the case of #3, A is a unit# at street address 1990. THe unit# might be a number as well, for eg: 1990-12. A ranged address identifies a range of addresses on a street, and not a unique deliverable address. So, the question is, is there an easy way to identify the Queens style address from the other cases?

  I have ascii strings which contain the character "\x80" to represent the euro symbol: >>> print "\x80" € When inserting string data containing this character into my database, I get: psycopg2.DataError: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0x80 HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encodi ng expected by the server, which is controlled by "client_encoding". I'm a unicode newbie. How can I convert my strings containing "\x80" to valid UTF-8 containing that same euro symbol?   i plan to use neurodotnet for my phd thesis, but before that i just want to build some small solutions to get used to the dll structure. the first problem that i want to model using backward propagation is height-weight ratio. I have some height and weight data, i want to train my NN so that if i put in some weight then i should get correct height as a output. i have 1 input 1 hidden and 1 output layer. Now here is first of many things i cant get around :) 1. my height data is in form of 1.422, 1.5422 ... etc and the corresponding weight data is 90 95, but the NN takes the input as 0/1 or -1/1 and given the output in the same range. how to address this problem

  In my app, i want to fetch all videos of logged in user i.e. videos that are uploaded by user, videos share by user, user tagged in etc. Currently im using "stream" query as: SELECT created_time, post_id, actor_id, type, updated_time, attachment FROM stream WHERE created_time>1075593600 AND type IN (56, 80, 128, 237, 272) AND source_id=me() limit 10000 As you can see i use "type IN" to fetch required videos but this query is not fetching all videos of mine . I have two videos in 2011 one of which is uploaded and other one is shared.But i m not getting these two. Also in developer.facebook it was written that "Each query of the stream table is limited to the previous 30 days or 50 posts, whichever is greater, however you can use time-specific fields such as created_time along with FQL operators (such as < or ) to retrieve a much greater range of posts." So i tried "created time0" i.e.(1970) and other like timestamp of 2001 but still i m not getting all. Please help..its urgent.Thanks

  Hi there, I'm doing a project with reasonalby big DataBase. It's not a probper DB file, but a class with format as follows: DataBase.Nodes.Data=[[] for i in range(1,1000)] f.e. this DataBase is all together something like few thousands rows. Fisrt question - is the way I'm doing efficient, or is it better to use SQL, or any other "proper" DB, which I've never used actually. And the main question - I'd like to save my DataBase class with all record, and then re-open it with Python in another session. Is that possible, what tool should I use? cPickle - it seems to be only for strings, any other? In matlab there's very useful functionality named save workspace - it saves all Your variables to a file that You can open at another session - this would be vary useful in python!

  I am considering moving from Matlab to Python/numpy for data analysis and numerical simulations. I have used Matlab (and SML-NJ) for years, and am very comfortable in the functional environment without side effects (barring I/O), but am a little reluctant about the side effects in Python. Can people share their favorite gotchas regarding side effects, and if possible, how they got around them? As an example, I was a bit surprised when I tried the following code in Python: lofls = [[]] * 4 #an accident waiting to happen! lofls[0].append(7) #not what I was expecting... print lofls #gives [[7], [7], [7], [7]] #instead, I should have done this (I think) lofls = [[] for x in range(4)] lofls[0].append(7) #only appends to the first list print lofls #gives [[7], [], [], []] thanks in advance

  Hello: I would like to do an interesting project for a computer graphics course. I know that there is a lot of literature out there (i.e. SIGGRAPH conference papers). I have a very large range of interest with regard to computer graphics (i.e. image processing, 3D modeling, rendering, animation). However, I've only taken computer vision/graphics for 2 semesters and thus don't have too much background experience, except for the class projects that I had to do. I've been looking through SIGGRAPH papers trying to see if there is anything that will be of interest to me but the literature is extremely vast. I was wondering if anyone has any topic suggestions, anything interesting that you ran across that you could recommend. I would prefer to do something fun yet slightly challenging (not really interested in making a shooter game).   Hi, I am trying to automate a device driver's debug session in Windows XP with Windbg. My device has an "index" register and a "data" register, both memory mapped. The index register must be filled with the internal register's index, and the value can be read from the data register. So, the followind Windbg command prints correctly the value of the internel register 0x4C: !ed [uc] 0xfa000000 0x4c; !dd [uc] 0xfa000004 L1 Now I would like to dump a range of internal registers, but it seems that the alias expansion doesn't work as expected in the !ed command. I am trying this cycle: .for (r $t0=0; @$t0<0x100; r $t0=@$t0+1) { !ed [uc] 0xfa000000 @$t0; !dd [uc] 0xfa000004 L1 } but it seems that the !ed command is ignored, as if @$t0 was expanded in an empty string. Tried "$t0", "@$t0", "${t0}" and "@${t0}", but without success. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance

• Want to bind an input field to a jquery-ui slider handle

  hello, I want to bind an input field to the jquery-ui slider handle. So whenever one value changes I want the other value to also change. Ex: if someone types 1000 into the minimum value input field I want the lower slider handle to move to the 1000 mark. Also if the user drags the lower slider handle to 1000 the input field should reflect that.   Hi, this is a question for the algorithms gurus out there :-) Let S be a set of intervals of the natural numbers that might overlap and b a box size. Assume that for each interval, the range is strictly less than b. I want to find the minimum set of intervals of size b (let's call it M) so all the intervals in S are contained in the intervals of M. Trivial example: S = {[1..4], [2..7], [3..5], [8..15], [9..13]} b = 10 M = {[1..10], [8..18]} // so ([1..4], [2..7], [3..5]) are inside [1..10] and ([8..15], [9..13]) are inside [8..18] I think a greedy algorithm might not work always, so if anybody knows of a solution of this problem (or a similar one that can be converted into), that would be great. • iPhone: change height of UITableViewCell coming from a NIB

My problem is now, that I set a default height for my custom UITableViewCell in Interface Builder, but when I add my [dynamic content] (which might range between 0..3) I have different cells with different heights. One thing is of course to calculate the total height and change the return value in heightForRowAtIndexPath, but how do I change the height value of my actual cell (which was loaded from a nib file with a fixed height)?

• C# Exception when retrieving rows from a datagrid in virtual mode

  Hi all, I keep getting an exception (see below) when I retrieve a list of rows from a Virtual Mode datagrid, this only happens when I have more rows than I can display on screen and it doesn't happen every time. Is there anything I'm missing with regards to virtual mode? Update The image below shows the problem, the index is now outside the list range. The reason for this is say I have 10 items and I hide 5 as they are not needed and I want to run some code on the 5 that are visible, there are now 5 items but the index of some maybe between 5-9, how can I re-index? When I have run some code on the visible 5 I then show the hidden 5 so I don't want to disgard these, I'd need to reindex again when they are all visible. Many thanks.

• Should I use uint in C# for values that can't be negative?

  I have just tried implementing a class where numerous length/count properties, etc. are uint instead of int. However, while doing so I noticed that it's actually painful to do so, like as if no one actually wants to do that. Nearly everything that hands out an integral type returns an int, therefore requiring casts in several points. I wanted to construct a StringBuffer with its buffer length defaulted to one of the fields in that class. Requires a cast too. So I wondered whether I should just revert to int here. I'm certainly not using the entire range anyway. I just thought since what I'm dealing with there simply can't be negative (if it was, it'd be an error) it'd be a nice idea to actually use uint. P.S.: I saw this question and this at least explains why the framework itself always uses int but even in own code it's actually cumbersome to stick to uint which makes me think it apparently isn't really wanted.

SVN management (authz, web viewer, commit log, diff) Create template projects (1 click e.g. create me a microsite with this name in svn and give these people access) Reporting on code churn, time spent on tasks on a per project basis User story management Basically like Team Foundation Server but that integrates with SVN properly (reason for this - we have a wide range of skill sets and not everyone can use a TFS client). Is there a combination of Trac plugins + something that can create trac instances (a la Dreamhost's admin panel) that can acheive this.   Hi folks, I'm having a major issue with an XSD dataset mapping thingy that I'm using within my current project. We are using XSDs for some data abstraction (it's quicker and debatably more maintainable that using Parameterised SQL or a StoredProc), and on my machine (running in the VS development environment) thy're working fine. However, on the Pre-production server we use for our testing, the XSDs are not working correctly: some method calls will fail with the following error: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range. at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleParameter.set_DbType(DbType value) Has anyone ever encountered this issue before? The methods being called are simple select statements using 1-3 parameters, and as I said before they work fine on my machine.

• matlab: figure size, same axis size

  I have a figure with fixed size, like that: hFig = figure(1); set(hFig, 'Position', [200 200 500 500]) But the thing is, that I want to have my AXIS with fixed size (i want them to be a square), not (necessary) the whole figure... - see image attached, Y axis is a bit longer than X axis (of course longer in a meaning of display... End Sub However, an 'argument not optional' error is thrown at run-time when user double clicks a cell on the sheet. Can someone please suggest how should I pass the paramters? In addition, I am not able to find event names for SelectionChange & BeforeRightClick. I tried: sheet.BeforeRightClick = "My_BeforeRightClick" sheet.SelectionChange = "My_SelectionChange" But, both the above lines do not work. Any help/ suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
