My question is in regards to developing code for the iPhone / iTouch. What with Apple's transition to the Intel platform for their chip, it is obviously now possible to run their OS on a PC. So, with that, and my inherently cheap nature, I was wondering if it was possible to bypass the purchase of a refurbished Mac by running the iPhone SDK on a Hackintosh? As I am more of a hobbyist then a serious developer at present, I'd basically like to get my feet wet before fully committing to this endeavor. Outlook 2007 receives html mail as source with headers, others MUAs work fine. Why?

Most clients (Gmail, Lotus Notes 8, hotmail/live, windows live mail, outlook express) receive the emails just fine, but Outlook 2007 does not. How to change onmouseover event to onclick instead in javascript?

I am using this plugin in wordpress http://www.iwebix.de/front-slider-wordpress-plugin-demo/ As you can see in the demo above, the left and right arrow buttons are the controls for scrolling the thumbnails and the event is onmouseover and onmouseout. I don't know how to change this to onclick instead so that the thumbnails will scroll left and right only when the buttons are clicked. Any help or ideas on how to do this? Thanks! I am looking to get my hands wet in Java Web Services. Apache CXF and Axis2 seem to be in demand a lot. I googled a bit for finding a good Axis2 book that has lot of working examples. some books like Quick Start Apache Axis 2 seem to have bad reviews on Amazon and titles like Web Services with Apache CXF and Axis2 seem to lack working examples. I want to get opinion from people who currently work with Axis2 and have read a book or two on the subject. Which is a good book for an Axis2 n00b.

How to activate nVidia cards programmatically on new MacBookPros for CUDA programming?

The new MacBookPros come with two graphic adapters, the Intel HD Graphics, and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M. OS X switches back and forth between them, depending on the workload, detection of an external monitor, or activation of Rosetta. I want to get my feet wet with CUDA programming, and unfortunately the CUDA SDK doesn't seem to take care of this back-and-forth switching. When Intel is active, no CUDA device gets detected, and when the NVidia card is active, it gets detected. So my current work-around is to use the little tool gfxCardStatus (http://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus/) to force the card on or off, just as I need it, but that's not satisfactory. Does anybody here know what the Apple-blessed, Apple-recommended way is to (1) detect the presence of a CUDA card, (2) to activate this card when present?

Hi, In my .NET application I am subscribing to events from another class. The subscription is conditional. I am subscribing to events when the control is visible and de-subscribing it when it become invisible. However in some conditions I do not want to de-subscribe the event even if the control is not visible as I want the result of an operation which is happening on background thread . Is there any way through which I can determine if a that class has already subscribed to that event. I know we can do it in the class which will raise that event by checking event with null but I don not know how to do it in a class which will subscribe to that event.

C# - Problem while listing directories - DirectoryNotFoundException

I'm getting a "DirectoryNotFoundException" error, here is the code: string directorio = "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto"; DirectoryInfo dir = new DirectoryInfo(directorio); DirectoryInfo[] dirs = dir.GetDirectories(); <------------This is the line I'm having this problem. I believe it's caused when it tries to parse the tilde part of that string "Mísero". the directory "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto" exists because I can see it and also have some files in it. Is there any way to send this string in correct way? Thanks

Can a Domain Specific Language (DSL) be localized?

I have never written a DSL, but I am considering it as a feature for a new project (hypothetical). It would be for end users to be able to express in natural language concepts such as weekdays between 10 and 11 except on the first monday of the month. Dutch users might write weekdagen tussen 10 en 11 behalve op de eerste maandag van de maand. In this case the position of the words seems to match, but there may be expressions where the position of verbs/nouns etc. could be different between languages. I realise the obvious answer (it depends). I am a .NET developer and I consider using Boo but I'm open to suggestions. I need to understand wether each translation requires rewriting a part of the implementation (which part) or if there is a way to do actual translations, maybe in some sort of preprocessor. Thanks!

Is it valid for Hibernate list() to return duplicates?

Is anyone aware of the validity of Hibernate's Criteria.list() and Query.list() methods returning multiple occurrences of the same entity? Occasionally I find when using the Criteria API, that changing the default fetch strategy in my class mapping definition (from "select" to "join") can sometimes affect how many references to the same entity can appear in the resulting output of list(), and I'm unsure whether to treat this as a bug or not. The javadoc does not define it, it simply says "The list of matched query results." (thanks guys). If this is expected and normal behaviour, then I can de-dup the list myself, that's not a problem, but if it's a bug, then I would prefer to avoid it, rather than de-dup the results and try to ignore it. Anyone got any experience of this?

I'm able to create a full chat using my own python socket server but I'm almost clueless what to do now that I want to add in LIVE video (want to make it a live video "chat"). I've found tutorials but they are for FMS and I can not afford that, also Red5 looked nice but couldn't find a live video tutorial off hand (plus I would have to switch to Red5 from my own socket server). So if someone could even nudge me into some resources on the subject (the subject of live video without using FMS) that would be very helpful, Google is failing me right now.

A good approach to db planing for reporting service

The scenario: Big system (~200 tables). 60,000 users. Complex reports that will require me to do multiple queries for each report and even those will be complex queries with inner queries all over the place + some processing in PHP. I have seen an approach, which I am not sure about: Having one centralized, de-normalized, table that registers any activity in the system which is reportable. This table will hold mostly foreign keys, so she should be fairly compact and fast. So, for example (My system is a virtual learning management system), A user enrolls to course, the table stores the user id, date, course id, organization id, activity type (enrollment). Of course I also store this data in a normalized DB, which the actual application uses. Pros I see: easy, maintainable queries and code to process data and fast retrieval. Cons: there is a danger of the de-normalized table to be out of sync with the real DB. Is this approach worth considering, or (preferably from experience) is total $#%#%t?

What are good resources to learn Coldfusion for a job application...

The job title is "ColdFusion Developer." I have bit's HTML and Javascripting experience, but mostly have worked in the "harder" languages such as C and C++ with occational flurries of assembly. I'm currently employeed, but in the current job climate I figure it can't hurt to be looking around and applying for other positions. Plus according to the friend who sent me the job posting, it is suppose to pay "very well." They left my office to work for this company themself so I figure it's a reasonable evaluation of the company. I don't know if there are any free tools that I could use to get my feet wet and bone up for an interview, or what sort of literature is decent for the ColdFusion. Plus any ideas on how to tune a resume for it would also be helpful.

So i have "TextBox - Ecran pentru introducerea unui text.", then two lines, then BIBLIOGRAFIE. how can i write that? with this code, the space between List and TextBox items are very large, and BIBLIOGRAFIE is displayed at the buttom... why? if i use \linebreak after \end{enumerate} i got a compile error Please help Thankls!
