  Hello everybody! I have a mysql table with these columns: ID (auto-increment) ID_BOOK (int) PRICE (double) DATA (date) I know two ID_BOOK values, example, 1 and 2. QUERY: I have to extract all the PRICE (of the ID_BOOK=1 and ID_BOOK=2) where DATA is the same! Table example: 1 1 10.00 2010-05-16 2 1 11.00 2010-05-15 3 1 12.00 2010-05-14 4 2 18.00 2010-05-16 5 2 11.50 2010-05-15 Result example: 1 1 10.00 2010-05-16 4 2 18.00 2010-05-16 2 1 11.00 2010-05-15 5 2 11.50 2010-05-15 ID_BOOK=2 hasn't 2010-05-14 so i jump it. • R get rid of rows with duplicate attribute

  hi there I have a big dataframe with columns such as: ID, time, OS, IP Each row of that dataframe corresponds to one entry. Within that dataframe for some IDs serveral entries (rows) exist. I would like to get rid of those multiple rows (obviously the other attributes will differ for the same ID). Or put different: I only want one single entry (row) for each ID. Could anyone be so kind and help me out on this one? When I use unique, on the ID column, I only recieve the levels (or each unique ID), but I want to keep the other attributes as well... I have tried to use apply(x,2,unique(data$ID)), but this does not work either... Any help is highly appreciated!

I'm getting crazy searching functions to do that but now i can't see anyone in Javascript. modified End expected format will be first the next: array[0]='255 250 250 snow (255 250 250)' Then i wanna take it and extract each line into some vars to use them: colour[0]=255; colour[1]=250; colour[2]=250; string=snow (255 250 250); (the vars will be reused with each line)

• DataGridView: can you add an unbound column to a Data Bound grid?

  I´m using Visual Studio 2008, C# DataGridView: can you add an unbound column to a Data Bound grid? It seems pretty simple, just select the properties ("DataGridView Tasks box") for the data bound DataGridView, and select Add unbound column. However, when in runtime there will be a System.FormatException - which I can understand, as I don´t know how to "initialize" the cells in the new unbound columns. I was planning initializing it programmatically via CellFormatting event - but so far I´m failing. Any tips? Just want to get it up and running in SOME way...

  I have a Excel Workbook that I use as a report template. I change the datasource on each pivot and datatable in a C# app. When I change the datatable datasource it tweeks the columns.   K&R C Programming Language: pg. 105 Extend entab and detab to accept the shorthand entab -m +n to mean tab stops every n columns, starting at column m. entab replaces a number of spaces with a tab character and detab does the opposite. The question I have concerns the tab stops and entab. I figure that for detab it's pretty easy to determine the number of spaces needed to reach the next tab stop, so no worries there. With entab, replacing spaces with tabs is slightly more difficult since I cannot for sure know how large the tab character goes to its own tab stop (unless there is a way to know for sure). Am I even thinking about this thing properly?

  Hi all, I am having a tough time trying to find a solution to the following design related to h:dataTable. I have certain number of rows predisplayed. The first column is only checkboxes. The rest of the columns are disabled by default. On selecting a checkbox the elements in the corresponding rows get enabled. On submit of the for the values in the enabled row have to be validated on the server side. I am able to validate for invalid inputs but am not finding a method to use required="true" conditionally. Or any other method. Could anyone please help me on this. Thanks Barun

• Django ORM dealing with MySQL BIT(1) field

  In a Django application, I'm trying to access an existing MySQL database created with Hibernate (a Java ORM). I reverse engineered the model using: $ manage.py inspectdb > models.py This created a nice models file from the Database and many things were quite fine. But I can't find how to properly access boolean fields, which were mapped by Hibernate as columns of type BIT(1). The inspectdb script by default creates these fields in the model as TextField and adds a comment saying that it couldn't reliably obtain the field type. I changed these to BooleanField but it doesn't work (the model objects always fetch a value of true for these fields). Using IntegerField won't work as well (e.g. in the admin these fields show strange non-ascii characters). Any hints of doing this without changing the database? (I need the existing Hibernate mappings and Java application to still work with the database).

  Any easy way to read all the columns in Matlab? my format is date time y1 y2 y3 y4 ......................... 4/27/2010 00:3:09 34 45 45 56 ................ so on currently i am reading these with the code [c,pathc]=uigetfile({'*.txt'},'Select the data','C:\Data'); file=[pathc c]; data= dlmread(file, ',', 1,3); so needless to say i am skipping the time stamps. Was wondering if there is aeasy way to read the time stamps and plot my other colums agianst the time in hours. my files are 43200 X 30 and some are 86400 X 90 Related question : is the format same for .csv and .xls files , i mean except ofcourse xlsread

• Cocoa touch - creating view template for iPad

  Hi, This is kinda a hard question to describe. I'm just starting to make an iPad app. Now with the amount of real estate I have, I'm planning to have different but similar "views" to populate the space. (might be easier to think a newspaper site, where many of the columns are similar) I would like to create a "view template" so I can reuse the view in the different spots. Is it possible to design the view template in Interface Builder? (meaning I design the UIView in Interface Builder and then somehow I can just do [window addSubview:viewController.viewTemplate1]; multiple times? If so how would I load that view template in the different places? If you know of an example code / tutorial that does something similar, that would work too. Thanks, Tee

  Dear All! I have a datagrid which contains bid and ask - prices for currency-symbols. The data is updated every seconds. I update the data by creating a new collection of my viewmodel-entities and bind this collection to the datagrid every second. The problem is: Because my datagrid contains a template-column with a button "buy", this button is also recreated every second! This means, that when the user hovers the button, the hover-styles blinks, as the button is recreated every second. Additionally sometimes the click-event is not fired correctly, if the button is recreated while the user has his mouse-left-button pressed. Any suggestions, how to solve real-time-update a datagrid with button-columns?

• DataGridView: how to focus the whole row instead of a single cell?

  I'd like to use the DataGridView control as a list with columns. Sort of like ListView in Details mode but I want to keep the DataGridView flexibility. ListView (with Details view and FullRowSelect enabled) highlights the whole line and shows the focus mark around the whole line: DataGridView (with SelectionMode = FullRowSelect) displays focus mark only around a single cell: So, does anyone know of some (ideally) easy way to make the DataGridView row selection look like the ListView one? I'm not looking for a changed behaviour of the control - I only want it to look the same. Ideally, without messing up with the methods that do the actual painting.

• mysql database design: thread and reply of a reply?

  in my forum i have threads and replies. one thread has multiple replies. but then, a reply can be a reply of an reply (like google wave). because of that a reply has to have a column "reply_id" so it can point to the parent reply. but then, the "top-level" replies (the replies directly under the thread) will have no parent reply. so how can i fix this? how should the columns be in the reply table (and thread table). at the moment it looks like this: threads: id title body replies: id thread_id (all replies will belong to a thread) reply_id (here lies the problem. the top-level replies wont have a parent reply) body what could a smart design look like to enable reply a reply?

  I've never personally used any of the Data controls within Visual Studio. I need to view and edit a two-dimensional byte array, 16x15 objects. Is there any control capable of editing this information? I've tried to access data with the DataViewGrid, but am not sure how to use it. It would be great to edit this information via rows and columns, like how you can in Excel. Thank you! Times like this I wish I could just use multiple text boxes and assign them each an index value.   Hi all, I have sharepoint list with several columns - month, year and some custom data. I want to provide 2 dropdowns to allow user select month and year to filter rows. I added "Choice Filter" webpart for month and set connection to list (this works). I added second "Choice Filter" for year and I wanted to do the same. However, I cannot set connection to list, because mylist is disabled in webpart menu "Edit-Connections-Send filter values to". How can I apply 2 filtering criteria? Thanks, Juraj

• Can you modify SQL DB schema in a transaction to know if all changes were applied?

  As part of my (new) database version control methodology, I'm writing a "change script" and want the change script to insert a new row into the SchemaChangeLog table if the script is executed successfully, or to reverse changes if any single change in the script fails. Is it possible to do schema changes in a transaction and only if it gets committed to then do the INSERT?   I have a jTable with columns 'Job_no' and 'Status'with values such as: Job_no Status 1 Active 2 Pending 3 Pending I would like it so that if a user clicks on a Status say in this case the first 'Pending'(where Job_no = 2) an inputDialog pops up allowing the user to change the status of the cell clicked-how can I do this? Bear in mind you will also have to retrieve the Job_no(that corresponds to that status) somehow, and that, though I'm OK with JOptionPane's, I'm new to JTables. I'm using JDBC(mySQL) and have a table 'Jobs' which amongst other things, has column Job_no and status. Thanks for your help.

  Hi every one, I am very much new to Drupal but am loving it to start with. I got struck at a point with respect to theaming. I have a region called 'footer-teaser' just above footer. Its width is 800px. its been split into 3 equal size columns. Each column has the following. Image of size 120x120 Some teaser text Link to 'read more' The design requirement is all the above should be editable by the admin from the admin interface. If its static i would have hardcoded this but since the requirement is dynamic, i am not aware of how to achieve this. I have customised page.tpl for other sections of the page except this. I am sure someone else would have faced this issue before and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction? Even better if an example is provided. Cheers RD

• C# Dynamic Query Without A Database Model

  I have been searching the web for a solution to dynamic queries. I have found many different solutions (e.g. Linq to Sql, Dynamic Linq Expressions, Dynamic Query), but all of these solutions involve some sort of previous knowledge of the database (like a model in code). Maybe what I am asking is way off the deep end, but is there any possible way to dynamically query a database without a model? For example, a database has a Customers table with the following columns: CustomerID Name FavoriteColor I want to create a query as SELECT Name FROM Customers WHERE @0 = @1, where the two placeholders are populated dynamically. The resulting data does not tie to a model class and I would prefer to use some sort of framework to build the queries, not simple string concatenation. The System.Linq.Dynamic namespace came really close to fulfilling this request, but it uses a database model. I realize this is crazy, but I was just curious.

What I'm looking to do is to be able to have a SQL query that has nested sub-queries using the column values returned in the SYS_REFCURSOR. Alternative ideas such as types, etc would be appreciated.
