  • Matlab Simulink version control with multiple developers

    We're using Matlab Simulink for model development (and Real-Time Workshop autocoding) within a team of several developers. We currently use Visual Source Safe (yes, I know its terrible) for version control, using locks to prevent conflicting changes. We'd like to migrate our programme to a different version control system (svn, hg or git), but we're concerned about performing merges and diffs on Simulink .mdl files. Does anybody have useful experience in performing merges on Simulink files?

  • How many inserts can you have in a sql transaction.

    I have a task to do that will require me using a transaction to ensure that many inserts will be completed or the entire update rolled back. I am concerned about the amount of data that needs to be inserted in this transaction and whether this will have a negative affect on the server. We are looking at about 10,000 records in table1 and 60,0000 records into table2. Is this safe to do in a single transaction?

    I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite and I'm unable to run tests and display the Test/Windows/Test Result Window. The result is a dialog box with the following content : "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation". Team Explorer has been installed after Visual Studio 2008 SP1. So I have re-apllied the service pack. Searching the web I found that this error is pretty common but unfortunately, the proposed solutions does not work for me. The new Person is added, but on the line with this.projectService.updateProject(project); I get an error. So a few questions: IS this safe? Would a better approach be to have my base repository be the test site repository (with corresponding working directory), and then have that repository push changes to a new live site repository, which has a corresponding working directory to the live site base? This would also allow me to move the production to a different server and keep the deployment chain intact. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a different, clean way to differentiate between test and production deployments when using Git for managing websites? As an additional note in light of Vi's answer, is there a good way to do this that would handle deletions without mucking with the file system much?     Just to be on the safe side, what's the best practice to ensure that only my application has access to my webservice, which is hosted on a public server? Should I implement I shared key or something? My webservice is hosted on Googles App Engine and my Application runs on iPhones and iPads. If you need further information, just ask. Thanks, Henrik

  • How to implement a custom cell renderer for ScrollTable in GWT

    I've used the ScrollTable widget for GWT and I have a need for a custom cell renderer so I can isolate this code from the rest of the app. I would like to use generics if possible to get it type safe. This cell renderer will take a long as a value and do some calculation before displaying the result. Anyone having a good example on how to implement such a custom renderer?
