  • asp.net web service OneWay definition not working

    - by jbrook10
    When I specify <SoapDocumentMethod(OneWay:=True)> on my webservice it doesn't seem to get called. If I remove that the webservice works properly. Also, everything works fine on the development machine just not on the server. Here is my web method: <SoapDocumentMethod(OneWay:=True)> _ <WebMethod()> _ Public Sub Write(ByVal processGroupId As Integer) xslClass.xslHelper.writeDatabase(processGroupId) ', processGroupName) End Sub Here is my calling code: Dim svc As New svcWriteFiles.WriteDatabaseService svc.WriteAsync(e.CommandArgument) Any ideas?

  • pass custom environment variables to System.Diagnostics.Process

    - by Mike Ruhlin
    I'm working on an app that invokes external processes like so: ProcessStartInfo startInfo = new ProcessStartInfo(PathToExecutable, Arguments){ ErrorDialog = false, RedirectStandardError = true, RedirectStandardOutput = true, UseShellExecute = false, CreateNoWindow = true, WorkingDirectory = WorkingDirectory }; using (Process process = new Process()) { process.StartInfo = startInfo; process.Start(); process.BeginErrorReadLine(); process.BeginOutputReadLine(); process.WaitForExit(); return process.ExitCode; } One of the processes I'm calling depends on an environment variable that I'd rather not require my users to set. Is there any way to modify the environment variables that get sent to the external process? Ideally I'd be able to make them visible only to the process that's running, but if I have to programmatically set them system-wide, I'll settle for that (but, would UAC force me to run as administrator to do that?) ProcessStartInfo.EnvironmentVariables is read only, so a lot of help that is...

  • JSObject-like stuff in ActionScript 3?

    - by johncch
    I would like to ask if there is a liveconnect equivalent for ActionScript 3. I understand that there is the ExternalInterface class inside AS3 but it only supports calling a method by name. The really cool thing about Java and LiveConnect is that you can do something like function jsFunc(name) = { this.name = name; this.talk = function(){ alert('hello world my name is ' + this.name); } } javaapplet.function(new jsFunc("bob")); The above approaches pseudo code since I never tested it but I've seen it in action. In AS3, while I am able to pass in an instance of JavaScript "object" into AS, it is often converted into an ActionScript Object instance which does away with all the functions as far as I'm aware. I saw an implementation of JSInterface but I don't think it does specifically that. Is there any way to make OO like javascript work with ActionScript 3?

  • Making self-logging modules with Log::Log4perl

    - by Oesor
    Is there a way to use Log::Log4perl to make a smart self-logging module that logs its operations to a file even in the absence of the calling script not initializing Log4perl? As far as I can tell from the documentation, the only way to use Log4perl is to initialize it in the running script from a configuration, then modules implementing Log4perl calls log themselves based on the caller's Log4perl config. Instead, I'd like the modules to provide a default initialization config for Log4perl. This would provide the default file appender for the module's category. Then, I could override this behavior by initing Log4perl in the caller with a different config if needed, and everything would hopefully just work. Is this sort of defensive logging behavior possible or am I going to need to rely on initing Log4perl in every .pl script that calls the module I want logged?

  • Pass parameters to a user control - asp.net

    - by Cristian Boariu
    Hi, I have this user control: <user:RatingStars runat="server" product="<%= getProductId() %>" category="<%= getCategoryId() %>"></user:RatingStars> You see that i fill the product and category by calling two methods: public string getProductId() { return productId.ToString(); } public string getCategoryId() { return categoryId.ToString(); } I do not understand why, in the user control, when i take the data received (product and category) it gives me "<%= getProductId() %" instead of giving the id received from that method... Any help would be kindly appreciated...

  • Why must I rewind IteratorIterator

    - by chris
    $arrayIter = new ArrayIterator( array(1, 2) ); $iterIter = new IteratorIterator($arrayIter); var_dump($iterIter->valid()); //false var_dump($arrayIter->valid()); //true If I first call $iterIter-rewind(), then $iterIter-valid() is true. I'm curious why it requires that rewind() be called. I imagine there's good reason for it, but I would have expected it to simply start iteration at whatever state it's inner iterator is in, and leave it as an option to rewind before beginning iteration. calling next() also seems to put it in a "valid" state(although it advances to the next position, suggesting it was previously at the first position). $arrayIter = new ArrayIterator(array(1,2)); $iterIter = new IteratorIterator($arrayIter); $iterIter->next(); var_dump($iterIter->valid()); Again, I'm curious why I need to call rewind(), despite the inner iterator being in a valid state.

  • How to run a COM .dll on a remote server?

    - by PrgTrdr
    I have a legacy 3rd party COM .dll that is used to provide an Excel-callable interface to a proprietary database product. The .dll runs on the same physical machine as Excel. I have a need to execute the .dll (and the database it is calling) on a remote server while still maintaining simple Excel callability from the client. I'm totally confused by all the different MS technologies that seem to hint there is an easy way to do this. Can someone please point me in the right direction (easier is better)?

  • Semicolon in object variable name

    - by milkfilk
    There's a common LDAP attribute called userCertificate;binary. It actually has a semi-colon in the attribute name. In ruby, I turn an LDAP entry into a OpenStruct object called 'struct'. struct.class = OpenStruct But of course ruby thinks it's an end-of-line character. ? struct.userCertificate;binary NameError: undefined local variable or method `binary' for main:Object from (irb):52 from :0 IRB knows that the local variable is there, because it gives me struct.userCertificate;binary from the tab auto-completion. I can also see the class variable when calling struct.methods on it. struct.methods = ... "send", "methods", "userCertificate;binary=", "hash", ... It's definitely there, I can see the contents if I print the whole variable to_s(). But how can I access the local variable when it has a semicolon in it? I have workarounds for this but I thought it was an interesting problem to post.

  • Error HRESULT E_FAIL when creating Exchange mailbox (CDOEXM.IMailboxStore.CreateMailbox)

    - by Matt
    I am trying to automate the process of creating an Exchange Mailbox for AD users and am running into an issue. When calling the CreateMailbox method I am receiving the error "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component". I have installed and referenced the Exchange Management Tools and am using impersonation for permissions. Here is the code: ActiveDs.IADsUser adUser = (ActiveDs.IADsUser)user.NativeObject; adUser.AccountDisabled = !Active; user.CommitChanges(); //Set Password user.Invoke("SetPassword", Password); user.CommitChanges(); //Create Mailbox IMailboxStore mailbox; mailbox = (IMailboxStore)adUser; mailbox.CreateMailbox("LDAP://CN=StandardUsers,CN=StandardUsers,CN=InformationStore,CN=xxxxx," + "CN=Servers,CN=First Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups," + "CN=xxxxx Main,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xxxxx,DC=com"); user.CommitChanges();

  • EF 4.1 Code First Detaching Entity

    - by Nazaf
    I am trying to add an entity to the DB. Once I have added it, I want to detach it, so I can manipulate the object safely without making any changes to the DB. After calling context.SaveChanges() I do the following to detach the entity: // save context.Stories.Add(story); // attach tags. They already exists in the database foreach(var tag in story.Tags) context.Entry(tag).State = System.Data.EntityState.Unchanged; context.SaveChanges(); context.Entry(story).State = System.Data.EntityState.Detached; However, changing the entity state to DETACHED will remove all related entities associated with the my entity. Is there a way to stop this ? If I don't detach the entity, all my changes are sent to the DB next time I call context.SaveChanges() Thanks!!

  • parsing primitive types using java.util.Scanner

    - by Rich Fluckiger
    I'm new to java so forgive the noob question. I have created a swing application that basically has three input strings in JTextFields: loanAmount, interestRate and loanYears and a single submit button with the EventAction. I'm trying to use the java.util.Scanner to parse the input to primitive types that I can use in calculations. I'm getting an error in NetBeans indicating that my variables are not recognized? should I not be calling System.in? private void submitButtonActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { Scanner keyInput = new Scanner(System.in); while (true) try{ double amount = keyInput.nextDouble(loanAmount.getText()); double interest = keyInput.nextDouble(interestRate.getText()); int years = keyInput.nextInt(loanYears.getText()); } catch (NumberFormatException nfe){ } }

  • Injecting relationships in DBIx::Class

    - by Carl
    I have a handful of DBIx::Class::Core objects that model various database tables. For some of those models (those that have a 'queue' column), I have another class inject subs (basically, to 'move' the model object along it's queue states). I'd like to also have that class inject has_many relationships ala class($name)->has_many('queue_history','MySchema::Result::QueueHistory', { 'foreign.record_id'=>'self.id' }, { where => { type => $name }} ); but I can't seem to get the relationships to register properly (keep getting "No Such Relationship" errors - however, when calling the relationship method on the sources provides back the relationship). Any clues as to what's wrong?

  • template function roundTo int, float -> truncation

    - by Oops
    Hi, according to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2833730/calling-template-function-without-type-inference the round function I will use in the future now looks like: template < typename TOut, typename TIn > TOut roundTo( TIn value ) { return static_cast<TOut>( value + 0.5 ); } double d = 1.54; int i = rountTo<int>(d); However it makes sense only if it will be used to round to integral datatypes like char, short, int, long, long long int, and it's unsigned counterparts. If it ever will be used with a TOut As float or long double it will deliver s***. double d = 1.54; float f = roundTo<float>(d); // aarrrgh now float is 2.04; I was thinking of a specified overload of the function but ... that's not possible... How would you solve this problem? many thanks in advance Oops

  • Call function from hyperlink defined in qTip content

    - by user327066
    Hi, I am trying to call a javascript function from a hyperlink that is part of the content in a qTip. I keep getting the error my function is not defined but it is defined within the page and can be called outside of qTip. Below is what I have so far: function addTooltip() { $("#mycontent").qtip({ content: 'mylink' }); } function tester() { alert("hello world"); } If I put the alert within the onClick attribute, I at least get the alert to work. Is there some special way of calling a function from within qTip? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • How to get function's name from function's pointer in C?

    - by Daniel Silveira
    How to get function's name from function's pointer in C? Edit: The real case is: I'm writing a linux kernel module and I'm calling kernel functions. Some of these functions are pointers and I want to inspect the code of that function in the kernel source. But I don't know which function it is pointing to. I thought it could be done because, when the system fails (kernel panic) it prints out in the screen the current callstack with function's names. But, I guess I was wrong... am I?

  • Deserialising Json to derived types in Asp.Net Web API

    - by IoChaos
    I'm calling a method of my WebAPI sending a json that I would like to match (or bind) with a model. In the controller I have a method like: public Result Post([ModelBinder(typeof(CustomModelBinder))]MyClass model); 'MyClass', wich is given as a parameter is an abstract class. I would like that at, depending of the type of json passed, the correct inherited class is instantiated. To achieve it, I'm trying to implement a custom binder. The problem is that (I don't know if it's very basic but I can't find anything) I don't know how to retrieve the raw Json (or better, some kind of serialization) that comes in the request. I see: actionContext.Request.Content But all methods are exposed as async. I don't know who this fits with passing the generate model to the controller method... Thanks a lot!

  • Getting Notifications in Background Mode iOS?

    - by Pau Senabre
    I'm trying to get Notifications in Background Mode by running a method every minute to see if there are new notifications. This works great in Active Mode, but I saw for background mode it is restricted to 7 keys. I enabled the Background Mode with the option Background Fetch, but seems like the method is being called but it's not complete. In AppDelegate I'm calling: - (void)applicationDidEnterBackground:(UIApplication *)application { //This has a Timer to execute every minute [self GetNotifications]; //This executes a NSMutableURLRequest *request //giving back the JSON data with the notifications } I would like to do something like Facebook does for Notifications. Any idea how to do this?

  • Returning messages in Smalltalk

    - by Zachary
    I have a Dictionary of objects I have created in smalltalk, which I am iterating over by enumerating it based on the key/value pairs. For value object in the dictionary, I am calling a method on that object. Based on certain conditions, I would like for this object to be able to add a new member to dictionary, and possibly delete another one. I've been looking at the 'Perform' and 'Messages' facilities in Smalltalk, but I'm not sure if it is even possible to do what I'm trying to do - is it possible to return a message (or multiple messages), which another object can process and perform? For example, could my method return 'removeKey: 19' and 'add object' at the same time? I am using GNU Smalltalk, if it matters.

  • Execute VBA Macro via C# Interop?

    - by Jon Artus
    Hi all, just wondering if anyone could suggest why I might be getting an error? I'm currently trying to execute a macro in a workbook by calling the Application.Run method that the interop exposes. It's currently throwing the following COM Exception: {System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800A03EC): Cannot run the macro Macro1'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled. I've put the containing workbook in a trusted location, set all of the security settings to their minimum values, and trusted programmatic access to my object model. I'm entirely out of ideas and Google's failed me so far! Has anyone done this, or can you suggest anything which I could try? Many thanks!

  • Can I use a stream to INSERT or UPDATE a row in SQL Server (C#)?

    - by Cheeso
    Suppose I have a VarBinary[MAX] column, can I insert or update into that column using a type derived from System.IO.Stream? How? I think that I can obtain a read-only stream from such a column using a SqlDataReader, calling GetSqlBytes() on the reader, getting the SqlBytes instance, and then referencing the Stream property on that. What I want is the converse - I want a stream for update or insert. Possible? (from c#... Without writing T-SQL ?)

  • Image Preloading in Canvas

    - by smokinguns
    I'm drawing an Image on the canvas using the drawImage function. This is how Im setting the src property of the image: var img = new Image(); // Create new Image object img.src = 'test.php?filename=myfile.jpg' and then oCanvas.width = 600; oCanvas.height = 400; oContext.drawImage(img, 0, 0, 600, 400); The problem is that if the src isn't set then I get the foll error:"uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawImage]" . I know I get this error coz the image hasnt finished loading. I added an alert just before the call to drawImage function to let the image finish loading and it seems to work. But it's a pain in the neck. How do I check if the image has finished loading? BTW I have to set the src property by calling a php file.

  • In an Android application, should I have one content provider per table or only one for the entire a

    - by Andrew Dyer
    I have years of experience with Microsoft .NET development (primarily C#) and have been working to come up to speed on Android and Java. So far, I've built a small application with a couple screens and a working content provider. All of the examples I've seen for developing content providers typically work with a single table, so I got the impression that this was the convention. I built a couple more content providers for other tables and ran into the "Unknown URI" IllegalArgumentException when I tried to test them. The exception is being thrown by one of my content providers, but not the one I was intending to call. It appears that my application is using the first content provider in the AndroidManifest.xml file, which now has me wondering if I should only have a single content provider for the entire application. Are there any best practices and/or examples for working with multiple tables in an Android application? Should I have one content provider per table or only one for the entire application? If the former, how do I resolve URIs to the proper provider? If the latter, how do I keep my content provider code from being polluted with switch statements?
