  • What text editors support vertical rulers?

    I'm looking for a feature somewhat like the vertical red 80 columns marker in NetBeans but one that's easier to use. I'd like it to function more like the tabs in MS Word except that the horizontal line is displayed on the entire file. I looked on the Comparison of Text Editors over at Wikipedia and I didn't find that "vertical ruler" was one of their features. It would be used to line up html tags in a massive file that I did not create, but have to maintain.

I was hoping to be able to set a border or color on the area tags so I could check everything was being generated with the right coords, but a little research shows this is not possible. So whats the easiest way to check my image map is correct? Are there any browser tools which will "visualise" the areas?

    Does anyone know if, using one Request.HTML call from MooTools, it is possible to somehow update more than one element in a webpage? The current call I have is: var req = new Request.HTML({update: $('content')}).get('../latest_events'); This updates the content div in my page with the "../latest_events" page. Is there a way to update other divs with the "../latest_events" page using this same call, or do I have to just use separate calls?

For eg.- for orkut or facebook login,only the text box appears,and when inputs are provided,and redirection is done,it says "error on page". Even on google search,basic HTML gets loaded on my computer.. I tried installing new Internet version i.e., IE8,but the same problem. Kildly provide a good solution to this problem.

    I want to be able to use the .html extension to render ASP pages. I am using Windows CE 6 at the moment with the default web server, ASP is turned on. I have attempted to add the "ScriptMap" (via) key to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\ScriptMap subkey with the value ".html"="\Windows\asp.dll" but this doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe I am missing it, but it seems like there is a shortcut in VS2010 to scratch your tail with one click but commenting out HTML code is still awkward as hell.     actually i got to the cause of the issue. if you feed the textarea text attribute with an tag that has a valid src url, then for some reason flex will try to render everything as html. Eg, try this: <mx:TextArea id="textArea" width="100%" height="90%" text="<img src='http://url-to-a-valid-img"/> and instead of it rendering it as raw text it will render it as an html. any idea?
