• MVVM Prism Nested Regions Can't Find Child Regions

  I have a Menu (Telerik RadMenu) that has nested regions defined in the Shell. In my modules I will register the modules menu or toolbar items with these regions. Everything works fine for the root regions, but when I try and add something to a child region, such as the File region on the Menu, I get the error "The exception message was: The region manager does not contain the FileMenuRegion region." However like I said if I change this code regionManager.Regions[RegionNames.FileMenuRegion].Add(menuItem); to this regionManager.Regions[RegionNames.MainMenuRegion].Add(menuItem); everything works fine. Below is the XAML for my menu so you can see the region names and how they are constructed. Any help would greatly be appreciated as this is bewildering and driving me crazy.   So I would like to move my Storyboards into a ResourceDictionary file and I am having trouble doing that. I have looked everywhere and it involves making the "Resource" sharable but how do I do that in silverlight when there is no x:Shared attribute. • DynamicResource and Dynamic Items in ContextMenu on XamDataGrid

  I would like to dynamically create a set of context menu options based upon some properties. Currently, I am creating a context menu as a DynamicResource with the visibility of the menu options bound to the properties, however, it seems that the DynamicResource is created only once, at runtime. Is this true? What I would like to do is have the menu generated each time, which will take into account the property changes on the data object. • Using LibraryStacks in a ScatterView on Surface

  We're trying to figure out how to drag an item from a LibraryStack container onto a ScatterView, like how the photo viewer sample applications work. Currently, the item just flies back into the LibraryStack after we drag it out. We can drag and drop items into other LibraryStacks or LibraryBars.   so in classic MVVM examples ive seen DataTemplate definitions are used to map up View Models to Views, what is the standard way to do this in MVVM Light framework, and where should the mappings be located? • MSDeploy migrate only configuration from IIS 6 to 7

  We have 19 websites, many of which have many "virtual" directories, on a IIS 6 server. I am trying to migrate the whole thing over to IIS 7 on a different server. Following the instructions on http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/427/migrate-a-web-site-from-iis-60-to-iis-70/ I attempted the following command line execution: msdeploy -verb:sync -source:metakey=lm/w3svc -dest:package=D:\Temp\Sites.zip > D:\temp\WebDeployPackage.log It appeared to be working until I got a "There is not enough space on the disk" error. The D drive, which you'll notice is the target location for the package and the log has plenty of space (all the resources for the websites are about 5gb, the drive has 200+). Though the C drive is of limited size (6Gb), so that might be the problem. Anyway, I figure the best bet was to try and do a migration of settings/configurations only, not the actual resources. We can easily deploy the resources to the new server with our NAnt build scripts, so that's not an issue. Getting all the correct configurations moved over, however, would be challenging to do manually. So, is there a way to export/package only the configuration/options of the IIS 6 server using msdeploy (or any other tool?)

• quartz throws deadlocks under load

  We are using Quartz with Spring and our configuration is throwing deadlocks when quartz has more than 1 thread configured. I'm starting to believe that it's because we don't have our quartz configured correctly with Spring, but I can't find enough documentation on how to configure the two to play nicely. We are running on both Windows and Linux environments - pointing at MSSQL and Oracle DBs. With both OS, using either DB, we can throw the following deadlock errors... • WPF ToolTip Style with dynamic LayoutTransform

  I have an app that scales it's UI and I want to scale the ToolTips with it. I have tried doing this: <Style TargetType="{x:Type ToolTip}"> <Setter Property="LayoutTransform" Value="{DynamicResource scaleTransf}"/> ... </Style> ...where scaleTransf is a resource that I change via code: Application.Current.Resources["scaleTransf"] = new ScaleTransform(...); Most of the ToolTips do get scaled in size but some of them that are created by C# code don't get scaled. I've checked and it seems that I don't set their Style or LayoutTransform by code, so I don't really understand what is going wrong... Moreover, I have the impression that the above XAML code worked fine a few days ago. :( Is there sth I can do to make it work all the time without setting the LayoutTransform in code-behind? EDIT : The ToolTips that don't change scale are the ones that have become visible before. I found something similar and i was trying with this code: HasMany(x => x.Resources) .AsMap<string>("LangCode") .AsIndexedCollection<string>("LangCode", c => c.GetIndexMapping()) .Cascade.All() .KeyColumn("EntityID"); but i dont know how to map the CategoryResource entity as a composite element inside the Category element.   I just installed Titanium SDK (1.5.1) and all the Android SDKs. Also, I already have iPhone SDK 4.2 installed. • validating wsdl/schema using cxf

  I am having a hard time getting cxf to validate an xml request that my service creates for a 3rd party. My project uses maven. Here is my project structure Main Module : + Sub-Module1 = Application + sub-Module2 = Interfaces In Interfaces, inside src/main/resources I have my wsdl and xsd. so, src/main/resources + mywsdl.wsdl. + myschema.xsd The interface submodule is listed as a dependency in the Application-sub-module. inside Application sub-module, there is a cxsf file in src/maim/resources. <jaxws:client name="{myTargerNameSpaceName}port" createdFromAPI="true"> <jaxws:properties> <entry key="schema-validation-enabled" value="true" /> </jaxws:properties> </jaxws:client> AND:. <jaxws:endpoint name="{myTargetNameSpaceName}port" wsdlLocation="/mywsdl.wsdl" createdFromAPI="true"> <jaxws:properties> <entry key="schema-validation-enabled" value="true" /> </jaxws:properties> </jaxws:endpoint> I tried changing the "name="{myTargetNameSpaceName}port" to "name="{myEndPointName}port" But to no anvil. My application works. But it just do not validate the xml I am producing that has to be consumed by a 3rd party application. I would like to get the validation working, so that any request that I send would be a valid one. Any suggestions?

• Looking for an elegant appwidget skin solution

  I have an appwidget application and would like to enable users to create skins which can be applied at runtime. My preferred solution is to use apk files with nine patch png images that stretch to fit the ImageView's of widget, however its starting to look like I might have to use another packaging technique (e.g. zip files). What I've tried: Importing nine patch resources as Drawable with context.getResourcesForApplication(my.app).getResources..., converting them to bitmaps using a canvas and setting the bitmap to the RemoteView using setImageViewBitap. This didn't work because I needed to specify the size of the resulting view (myBitmap.setBounds(..,..)) during conversion and some of the widths/heights in my appwidget aren't fixed. Perhaps there is a way to get the heights etc that I missed. Importing resources directly to the RemoteView using setImageViewUri() This doesn't work because the function doesn't seem to read android.resource:// Uri's anymore (I poked around in the ImageView source and it only seems to read files paths and content:// Uri's) Importing resources directly to the RemoteView using setImageViewResource() which didn't work because the id retrieved from the external package obviously doesn't include a package reference. What I'm trying to avoid is hard coding all my appwidget width's and height's, or using a separate packaging scheme. Has anyone implemented appwidget skins nicely and want to share the knowledge? Alternately there might be a hole in my logic somewhere that can be pointed out. I can provide code if required though I don't have any here right now.

  My aim is to extend the eclipse QuickFix component and automate the process of solving syntax errors. Basically, the QuickFix component provides a list of solutions and my task is to select the best possible fix and apply it to the buggy code. But, for now I've been requested to print the resolutions for a marker in the console. I've tried to work out a tutorial and I'm kind of stuck right now. • WinForms Application Form "Shakes" When Audio Playing

  I have a C# game program that i'm developing. it uses sound samples and winsock. when i test run the game most of the audio works fine but from time to time if it is multiple samples being played sequentially the application form shakes a little bit and then goes back to its old position. how do i go about debugging this or present it to you folks in a manageable manner? i'm sure no one is going to want the whole app code in fear of virus attacks. please guide me.. EDIT: i have not been able to pin down any code section that produces this result. it just does and i cannot explain it.   I'm writing a program in Java where I read in data from an XML file and parse it. The file is imported into a folder named "Resources" in the src directory of my project. I'm using Eclipse.   I cannot get a nine patch drawable to work (i.e. it is stretching the nine patch image) when loading from either Drawable.createFromPath or from a number of other methods using an InputStream. Loading the same nine patch works fine when loading from when resources.   I'm having two models: Snippet and SnippetComment. These also have their own controllers, as well as views. • Semaphore race condition?

  I have created a "Manager" class that contains a limited set of resources. The resources are stored in the "Manager" as a Queue. I initialize the Queue and a Semaphore to the same size, using the semaphore to block a thread if there are no resources available. I have multiple threads calling into this class to request a resource. Here is the psuedo code: public IResource RequestResource() { IResource resource = null; _semaphore.WaitOne(); lock (_syncLock) { resource = _resources.Dequeue(); } return resource; } public void ReleaseResource(IResource resource) { lock (_syncLock) { _resources.Enqueue(resource); } _semaphore.Release(); } While running this application, it seems to run fine for a while. Then, it seems like my Queue is giving out the same object. Does this seem like its possible? I'm pulling my hair out over here, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
