  • Not able to access the server after changing the password?

    While accessing the server, the error comes: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I am logging in from Administrator in XP machine, able to access server from other machines. Is there any problem with administrator profile??

  • Check whether server is up in AppleScript

    I have an intranet server running on a Windows XP computer and the internet connection on it has been known to be pretty unreliable (surprise, surprise) so I was wondering if there was a way to use an AppleScript to poll it every hour or so to see if it is up and running and if it isn't, execute something, like send myself an email.     I'm looking at using a few open source products in a commercial software application I'm working on. One of them is licensed under MIT, which I understand as allowing commercial software linking. However, the other open source product is licensed under MS-PL but I don't understand if that license is fully compatible with commercial software. So the question is, can I use MS-PL licensed OSS in a commercial/proprietary/for-sale application? Thanks.

    I am feeling problem when generating .pdf file from excel2007(.xlsx) file using code like excelWorkBook.ExportAsFixedFormat(paramExportFormat, paramExportFilePath, paramExportQuality, true, false, paramMissing, paramMissing, paramOpenAfterPublish,paramMissing); THe generated pdf having chart image show with border on XP 2003 server so it cut some other part. Which not come if generated locally on xp system.

    I have an application which runs another application (mine) using the WinAPI "ShellExecuteEx" with the verb "RunAs" so that the other application should start with "Administrator" credentials. My OS is Windows XP. (Do not bother about other operating system, as I have specific code in place) The only problem with this thing is that the "Current User" comes preselected. I want it to be the "Following User" with Administrator selected. How to do this?

  • Associate file extension to application running in XP MODE

    Hi I'm running a legacy application in XP mode under Win7 Professional. The application installs, runs and publishes fine (appears in win7 start menu by itself after install). However, when I want to associate a file extension from Win7 so that it opens automatically in that application, I don't have it on the list of available applications, and i found no way to add it there. Anyone knows how it can be done? I've read about associating file extensions with remote apps on TS2008, but there it's done by setting the associations in the MSI that is built on the server and used to install the app on the client. Here I have no such tools. Help would be appreciated! Vadim R.

  • In Windows XP, is it possible to disable user credential caching for particular users

    I understand that when windows caches user credentials, these can sometimes be used by malicious parties to access other machines once a machine containing cached credentials is compromised, a method known as "pass the hash"[1]. For this reason I would like to get control over what's cached to reduce the risk of cached credentials being used maliciously. It is possible to prevent all caching by zeroing HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\CachedLogonsCount, but this is too indiscriminate: laptops users need to be able to login when away from the network.
