• CeleryCAM not working... - Django/Celery

  Hi folks, celery works wonderfully! :) e.g. results are returned with no problems! Unfortunately celerycam does not: This is what my panel looks like, celeryev looks the same. NB: all those tasks have been completed succesfully, they are just not showing as completed, and the names are not showing either. I'm usingthe following commands: python manage.py celeryd -l info -E python manage.py celerycam My BROKER is RabbitMQ My DATABASE is MongoDB Django, Celery and RabbitMQ are running on a clean Ubuntu 10 install. Any ideas folks? Would be amazing if someone could help me on this one :|

• Java: Sockets or RMI?

  Hi, I need to separate our application into a light-weight gui application and a business logic application. This won't be a client/server setup as such, as the 'server' component will only have one client. The other limitation in the application is that it has only one entry/exit point. Therefore if we were to use RMI, it would only ever be on one function. All form data is already wrapped up into a string and passed through one transport area. Should I just use Java Sockets to enhance this application, or go with RMI? Or some other Java technology? • Get two Jpanel expand in a JFrame asymmetrically.

  Hi there. I have a JFrame with two JPanels inside. One is set on west, other on east with BorderLayout. The thing is, it just shows two 10 pixel width, 100% JFrame height strips: What i want to do is to setsize each panel having as end result that the jpanel on the west be 80% of the jframe width, the remaining 20% to the one on the east. Is it possible? Should I use another layout? Thanks a lot.

• How to prevent Windows XP from stealing my input Ctrl-Space which is meant for Emacs

  I am learning and using Emacs. What I found annoying is that Ctrl-Space input will be stolen by Windows XP to switch the language bar instead of setting the mark in Emacs. The "language bar" is the native input languages selection such as Chinese keyboard other than English keyboard. Is there a way to temporarily prevent XP from stealing it? I have disabled the language bar from "Regional and language options" from Control Panel but the problem still exists. It doesn't happen on my Windows 2000 desktop at office but it happens on my work Windows XP laptop. Thank you very much.

• Do not show partial items in a WPF listbox

  I've tried Google and I've tried Bing to no avail. Does anyone here have an idea on how to prevent partial items from appearing in a listbox in WPF? In case that does not make sense here is an example: Listbox is 200 pixels tall - each item is 35 pixels tall. That means I can show 5.7 items. 7/10 of an item is undesirable. I'd like to limit it to showing only 5 items. The user could then scroll to see the additional items. Should I A) try to dynamically size the listbox or ScrollViewer ViewPort so that it fits perfectly? Or B) implement a custom panel that would not arrange a child whose desired height is more than the remaining vertical space? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Last note: If anyone knows of a 3rd party control (listbox or grid) that does this I would be interested in that as well.

  i have to make the colorpiker tool of flex, to be a customized one, i beleive you have seen the color picker tool of flex, when you click on the colorpicker, a swatch panel gets open, right?? now in that swatch, there are three compoenents, one is thw colorbox(on top left), beside right to this is the text field holding the hex code of the color and below these two tools, is the colors present in the small rectangles, now my need is this, i want to add three more buttons on the top empty space after textfield, so that structure of the colors pciker looks like this colorbox | textfield | button1 | button2 | button3 color rectangles, showing all default colors i beleive u understood, what i meant here, so plzz help me out in making a custom colorpciker class, thanx Namaste

• "Disabling" an HTML table with javascript

  I've seen this done in a lot of sites recently, but can't seem to track one down. Essentially I want to "disable" an entire panel (that's in the form on an HTML table) when a button is clicked. By disable I mean I don't want the form elements within the table to be usable and I want the table to sort of fade out. I've been able to accomplish this by putting a "veil" over the table with an absolutely positioned div that has a white background with a low opacity (so you can see the table behind it, but can't click anything because the div is in front of it). This also adds the faded effect that I want. However, when I set the height of the veil to 100% it only goes to the size of my screen (not including the scrolling), so if a user scrolls up or down, they see the edge of the veil and that's not pretty. I'm assuming this is typically done in a different fashion. Does anyone have some suggestions as a better way to accomplish this?

Like in one screen has treeview on left side,gridview with paging in the middle and 4 buttons at right side. the controls are properly appears when the form is in maximize state. but if i minimize it the controls are not properly fits in the screen. i tried with different different tricks like table layout.. in dat i added panel...etc.. but i could not solve the problem. Tried to use javac -encoding ISO-8859-7. Also tried java -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-7. Assuming that as I do not have greek font in my pc, I downloaded achillies (greek font - Ach4.ttf).Installed it by going to control panel fonts. Any ideas?

  I have a aspx page which contains a User Control uc1 ans within uc1, there is another user control uc2. Now I need to call a javascript function in the uc2's page load. (I understand that the Pages are not properly designed, but I am sorry as this is an old application, I am not supposed to make any changes in the design) I am doing this using ScriptManager.RegisterStartUpScript as I have an update panel, but the function is not being called and the script error "load is not defined" is fired. (load is the javascript function in uc2) Can anyone help me out with this? Thank you.

• How can I perform a normal postback on an ASP.NET page with AJAX history enabled?

  I have an ASP.NET 3.5 page with an update panel and history enabled. It works fine when I perform async postbacks but I get problems when I want to perform a normal postback. The page load happens fine for the normal postback but then I get asynchronous page loads from the script manager which load the ajax history in. If I could have the ajax history not loading for the times I want to perform a normal postback then everything would be fine. Is there anyway to do this?

• Grouping Windows Forms Radiobuttons with different parent controls in C#

  Hi, I've got a Windows Forms application in which I have a number of RadioButtons. These RadioButtons are placed within a FlowLayoutPanel which automatically arranges them for me. All RadioButtons that are directly added to the FlowLayoutPanel are grouped, meaning I can select only one of them. However, some of these RadioButtons are paired up with a TextBox so I can supply some argument there. But to have all this arranged properly, I add a Panel control to the FlowLayoutPanel so I can control the alignment of the RadioButton and TextBox relatively to each other myself. These RadioButtons now have their own respective Panels as parent controls and thus are no longer included in the radio group with the other RadioButtons. I read that the the RadioButtons that are in the System.Web.UI namespace have a GroupName property, but unfortunately their System.Windows.Forms counterparts lack this property. Is there some other way I can group these radio buttons are am I going to have to handle onClick events myself? Thanks, Jerry

• Dynamic web user control problem when browser's back button is clicked.

  Hi all, I have an .aspx page in which I dynamically add web controls to a panel. The problem is when I hit the browser's back buton, it's displayed a version of the page that no longer exists on the server-side, because the controls are dynamically added. Let's say my aspx dynamically adds Control1. From there, I click a button that loads Control2. At this moment, if I press the browser's back button, it will display the page with Control1, but Control1 no longer exists on the server-side, so if I interact with it, some erractic behaviour will occur. Any ideas on this? Thank you very much.

• How to load a page with its default values after a postback

  I'm creating user controls that i will put into an update panel and make them visible only when required using triggers. Once visible it will float in a dialog box so it has a close button which will just hide the control on client side. The controls have multiple post back states, like a wizard, i'm using a multi view control to accomplish that. My problem is that once the user is at step number two in the control, if the user closes the dialog, than opens the dialog again, (note that the control is made visible on the server and reloaded by updating the updatepanel) the second step will still be displayed. The reason is . because whenever there is a postback the control will load its state using the viewstate, even if EnableViewState is false it will still load it using the LoadControlState method. so my quesion is how can i force a user control to load fresh with its default values without any postback data.

I then need the software to automatically display the questions, accept answers, and display and store results. Is there any software (open source/freeware) that I can use for this task. If a pre-built software is not available, which language+library+platform would you suggest I make the software in. It can be either web based or a desktop app. But I need it by 2 weeks.   I want to create a GUI driven application for a micro-controller (Atmel XMEGA) that is connected to a 128x64 dots graphics LCD (EA DOGL128-6) and 4 buttons for navigation. Controlling the display itself (e.g. drawing pixels and characters) is no problem but in order to prevent me from reinventing the wheel I was googling for a GUI-Library/-Toolkit that is written in c, includes its source code, will run on a 32 MHz 8-bit micro-controller and provides at least the following controls: panel (to group elements) menu (scrollable) icon label button line-graph (optional) But I didn't find any thing useful. Does anyone know (or better uses) such a library(preferably for free)?

  Hi, I engadged a problem with inherited Controls in WinForms, and need some advice on it. I do use a base class for items in a List (selfmade GUI list made of a panel) and some inherited controls that are for each type of data that could be added to the list. There was no problem with it, but I know found out, that it would be right, to make the base-control an abstract class, since it has methods, that need to be implemented in all inherited controls, called from the code inside the base-control, but must not and can not be implemented in the base class. When I mark the base-control as abstract, the VS2008 Designer refuses to load the window. Is there any way to get the Designer work with the base-control made abstract?

• ModalPopupExtender OnShow Event

  When clicking a button, I have a ModalPopupExtender (Panel) that gets displayed. I can't seem to trigger any event during that process. Adding an event to the button that opens the ModalPopupExtender doesnt work, as it never triggers. Adding the button as a trigger in my UpdatePanel also doesnt work. Scenario: I have a gridview with a button outside of the gridview. Clicking the button opens up a ModalPopupExtender which needs to display the checkboxes clicked on the gridview. I have the code to get the checkboxes clicked on the Gridview, however I cant seem to use an event during the process of opening the ModalPopupExtender.

  Is there a method allowing me to return my stored data in an ExtJS Grid Panel exactly the way I loaded it using: var data = ["value1", "value2"] Store.loadData(data); I would like to have a user option to reload the Grid, but changes to the store need to be taken into account. The user can make changes and the grid is dynamically updated, but if I reload the grid, the data that was originally loaded is shown even though the database has been updated with the new changes. I would prefer not to reload the page and just let them reload the grid data itself with the newly changed store. I guess im looking for something like this: var data = Store.getData(); //data = ["value1", "value2"] after its all said and done. Or is there a different way to refresh the grid with new data that I am not aware of. Even using the proxy still uses the "original" data, not the new store. Thanks in advance

• I have some questions about building an AIR app for use with a connected projector.

  For an app I'm working on, I'd like to have a control panel window and a video output window to use for projecting video with an attached projector. I have built many Flash applications but this will be my first time using AIR so I have some questions. Is it possible to have two seperate windows as part of one AIR application? Can one of the windows (the video output) be in full-screen mode while the other window stays normal? How does AIR do with playing local video? Will there be crashes or choppy playback? Is there a better language option for what I'm trying to accomplish?

  Hi, Im trying to use the fileupload control. Im using Visual Web Developer Express on my desktop. My web application is working fine except I cant use the fileUpload control. I get the following error: ERROR: Access to the path (My_Directory) is denied I searched and it appears to be a permissions problem. So I attempted to add the user ASPNET and give appropriate permissions to the directory, however, I was unable to add user "ASPNET". User "ASPNET" was not found. So then I followed the following directions to add user ASPNET via Control Panel Administration Computer management.   Hi all!I'll give an example of what I intend to do: I have 2 StackPanels one containing an Ellipse the other one containing nothing; I want to drag the Ellipse from one stack panel to the other . The actual drag & drop is already done and works fine. However I'd like to know how to keep that that Ellipse shape at the tip of my mouse cursor (I've been searching all day and couldn't find anything that helps ) Even an windows forms example would be nice , I'll be able to adapt it :). • Why does TabStop stop working??

  I have a project that uses a series of auto-generated user control instances. The user-control itself exists, but I populate a panel with a series of these user controls, one for each item in my collection. Each user control displays a ton of information, but only ONE text field is editable. All of the other fields have TabStop set to false, and are marked as ReadOnly. The tab order of each user control is set at the time it is created so that the tab-key goes from one field to the next (or ... it's supposed to). When I have TWO fields on my user control whose TabStop is set to true, everything works great. But if I only have ONE field whose TabStop is true, the tab key stops working, and I have to physically CLICK on the next user control for it to gain focus. What's up? Has anyone else seen this behavior? Am I doing something stupid as usual?

• Setting up boost filesystem

  I've been having serious problems trying to set up boost. I must have installed and uninstalled the libraries a dozen times. In my most recent attempt, I followed these instructions: Download the zip and unzip it. Get the prebuilt jam executable and unzip it. Put that directory in your path. (Edit Path by using Control Panel...System..Advanced....Environemnt Variables) Open Visual Studio command prompt. Browse to boost directory. Run: bjam "-sTOOLS=vc-8_0" install The main reason I'm trying to use boost is for boost/filesystem yet nothing is working. I know this question has been asked before, but it only resulted in more errors.. Please Help!
