I have a compilation(UITableView) of videos from youtube of a particular gender(funny videos, for example) and I want to know if this app will pass the approval process. These videos are freely accessible by anyone in youtube, but ins't uploaded/recorded by me.     Just something I'd like to play with, I would like to create a "virtual" file/directory in the File System of Linux or Mac OS X (Not sure if I can share the same code - does POSIX help?), for example /foo and then perform custom code when something is read or written to it. Similar how /dev/null allows for stuff like echo "Hello!" > /dev/null I don't care if it's in /dev, /proc or anywhere else, as said it's mainly something to play with...

    I have two servers - one Django, the other likely to be written in Python - and one is putting 'tasks' into a database and another is processing these tasks. They share a database, but I want the processor to react quickly to new tasks rather than polling periodically. Are there any straightforward ways for two Python servers to talk to one another, or does the task processor have to have web-hooks or something? It feels there ought to be a blessed way to do this...

    assume that i start coding an application from scratch, is the best way to create tables when using Doctrine, to manually create tables in mysql and then generate models from the tables, or is it the other way around, that is to create the models in php and then generate tables from models? and if i already have a database, will the models created be optimal? cause i have heard some say that its best to create the database from scratch when using ORM, so that the relations are optimized for OOD. share your thoughts!

However, I also find it very annoying to replicate the same code and views without the possibility to keep at least a reusable library of the most common xibs.   • VIM Flashing Issue

    I'm SSH'ing in from my mac OSX (10.6.8) to a school server running centOS5 and when I attempt to use VIM, it won't stop flashing inside the mac terminal. Any idea's on how to fix this? Keep in my mind I do not have the authority to modify any /etc files or /bin files on the server, although I believe I can locally on my user. Also I would love to see anyone's really cool .vimrc config file they want to share.
