  In C++, the common practice is to declare functions in header files and define them in cpp files. This leads to always having two copies of every function's prototype. Then whenever I want to change a function's name/return value/parameter, I have to manually change it in both files. This seems unnecessarily tedious and there must be lots of people that share my pain, so is there a way to automate these changes between files in VS? Bonus points for vim solutions as well.

• Retrieving Data in A NSTableView

  I have a three column Table View populated by two NSMutableDictionaries which share the same keys (ie key | value1 | value2 ) with dict1(key,value1) and dict2(key,value2). I want to manually enter data in the third column and create the key/value objects in dict2.   I find that I now often work with code bases that have different amounts of indentation. Some use 2 spaces, some use 4 space, some even use tabs! Once in a while, I have to share code between these codebases, or, sometimes I use an incorrect amount of indentation by mistake. Is there a tool or a text editor feature that will convert between different amounts of indentation?

  I am trying to make a ranking manager for a small project.The totals are stored in the database.I can easily get the max and min using mysql and also arrange the records descending.The problem comes in when there is a tie.I need to show a tie in the form:1,2,3,3,4,5,6,7,7,7,7, etc.The repeated numbers will show the ties.I have been thinking of ways of achieving the above but i need more ideas;mine is seems long and complicated.   I have a web part which uses validation on a textbox field to prevent submission of an empty field. When clicking on Check In to Share Draft or Publish, this validation is done, and since I am not actually trying to submit the form, but rather check it in, I'd rather this didn't happen. How can I achieve this?
