  Django is to Python as Rails is to Ruby. What is the current front-runner for Erlang? Recent Erlang web activity has resulted in many new frameworks but they are all still moving targets. ErlyWeb is very far along but now seems to be dead. If you were to invest significant capital into a new web product (i.e. not a hobby, you use your own money and you use other's investment in you with expectation of payback), would you choose Erlang as a web platform? If so, what framework and technologies would you choose?

• How can I qualify an autowired property with a variable from a config file using annotations?

  My specific problem is that I have configured two beans that implement the same interface and I have a third bean that has a property of that interface's type. I inject the property using a config property. So, assuming RemoteDataSource and LocalDataSource implement IDataSource and dao1 has a property of type IDataSource, my XML config might look like this: <bean id="datasource1" class="com.foo.RemoteDataSource"> <property name="url">${url}</property> </bean> <bean id="datasource2" class="com.foo.LocalDataSource"> <property name="path">${filepath}</property> </bean> <bean id="dao1" class="com.foo.MyDAO"> <property name="dataSource">${datasource}</property> </bean> With url, filepath and datasource being defined in an included properties file. We are now making a push for annotation-driven configuration and I'm not sure how to annotate my dao to put the data source configured in the property file. • Linq to Entities strange deploying behavior.

  Hi I started building apps with this technology and I am facing a weird problem... on some machines I need to add theese lines to the app.config to get to work: <system.data> <DbProviderFactories> <add name="MySQL Data Provider" invariant="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" description=".Net Framework Data Provider for MySQL" type="MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlClientFactory, MySql.Data, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d" /> </DbProviderFactories> </system.data> while in other machines it runs well without theese lines.... the thing is that when I add theese lines the app wont run on machines that did not needed theese lines in the firs place, and I would like not to publish to versions of the app, is there a way to solve this?

  I have tried to embed a flash movie in a zend view using the htmlFlash helper. In theory you only have to pass the movie path to the htmlFlash helper in a phtml view: echo $this-htmlFlash('/path/to/myMovie.swf'); And the framework will generate the html code in the html page: <object data="/path/to/flash.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab"> </object> However, I have done so and the code doesn't appear on the source code. • Mocking a namespace in a partial class.

  I am messing around with Entity Framework 3.5 SP1 and I am trying to find a cleaner way to do the below. Basically I have an EF model and I am adding some Eager Loaded entities and i want to put them in the partial class context Eager namespace. If I comment out the mappedHandlers part then the error tile is displayed but it is only a tile. The rest of the tiles load normally. I need to make a redirect in the controller so I can show an error page not just an error tile. I can't find enough information or an example how the exception invokes some method in exceptionController.

  I am trying to write a custom select statement in Hibernate using the getHibernateTemplate() method. I am having problems with the resulting mapping. Example Code: List<User> users = getHibernateTemplate().find("Select user, sysdate as latestPost from User as user"); for (User user : users) { assertNotNull(users.name); } The goal of the above line is to eventually have a join where I get the max(date) of posts made by the user. The problem I am having is that the resulting users list is not a list of User objects and I get a class cast exception. Hopefully that is enough code. It is a greatly simplified version of my problem and a combination of snippets from various parts of my application.

  I am just getting started with LINQ. I am creating an Entity Framework app that uses the canonical Post and Tag model. A Post contains an ID, Text, and Tags, and a Tag contains an ID, a Name, and Posts. A previous thread on StackOverflow showed me how to query for a Post that matches all Tag objects (A and B and C) in a search list. But how would I query for a Post that matches any Tag (A or B or C) in the list? Thanks for your help.

  I'm using the Zend Framework database relationships for a couple of weeks now. My first impression is pretty good, but I do have a question related to inserting related data into multiple tables. I'm trying to make an administration zone within a subfolder (also ZF) and a API Zend Application for my mobile Android application. The problem is: I rewrited all routes im my principal website, so now it always search for a route when I go to a subfolder. • Can you automatically remove characters from entities created?

  Hi, In my sql database I have tables with name which include underscores, for readability. Just to try and make it clearer see below: TableFoo TableFoo_TableBah Where TableFoo has a key linking to TableFoo_TableBah, this is done so you can quickly see what the table TableBah relates to. I have used this naming convention before with tools such as CodeSmith which give the option to remove the underscores, but I cannot see how to do this in Entity Framework 4. Is there a way to do this, or am I stuck with either renaming my tables or having objets such as TableFoo_TableBah? Thanks,

  I am currently trying to write some unit test against my zend framework controller. I have searched around but am not really finding a good answer to why it won't allow me to find this html node or how to get around this error. Thanks in advance for any help!

I didn't try in web mode yet. Why would I get a null session ? Does it have something to do with spring4gwt ? Thank you

  symfony has released some of their components free to use outside the framework. i have used the event dispatcher and dependency injection...they are awesome! i wonder if there are other components/libraries (from other frameworks etc) that in the same way help you manage various design patterns? eg. decorator, facade, singleton, chain of commands etc. i think symfony is on the right path, abstracting away the design patterns. are there any other components out there doing the same? thanks

• Zend_Soap with attachments (server)

  i'm trying to build a SOAP service with Zend_Soap. Everything is working great but the client needs the ability to send attachments to the service (not base64 encoded strings, as this service will be called multiple times a day with various file sizes so processing all that in memory is not possible. So I'd like to handle a normal SOAP attachment (DIME/MIME) with the SOAP server in Zend Framework however I'm unable to find documentation about it. Can I access it with $_FILES[] or any other way? Is it even possible in Zend_Soap (as there's not that much info available). SOAP is a must - so thanks for the advice but it has to be SOAP, not REST.

  I was wondering if anyone knows of some good community distributed custom DDL templates for Entity Framework 4.0. The default DDL to SQL10 Works well enough, but we're looking to do some customization to the naming convention that it just isn't offering us. I'm not really finding many samples out there of people doing this, so I was hoping someone might know of a resource I'm overlooking (perhaps I am searching for it wrong, or misunderstanding how the whole process works) Specifically we're wanting to change up how it writes out fields from relationships. For instance, the default template puts in.. tablename_propertyendpoint_propertyname. We're wanting to find tune this to our naming scheme a little more. And none of us can quite figure out where in the .tt files it is doing this exact behavior.

• Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable identity not unique

  For authentication on a website i use Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable. Everything work's fine, but Zend Framework only allow unique Identitys in the table. As an identity i use the mail-address from my users. The problem is, that there are more items in the table with this mail-adress. User can delete there account and so i don't delete the whole row, i only change the status to -2 or something else. active user has the status 1. i try to use it like so: $authAdapter = new Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable($db, 'user', 'email', 'password', "? AND `status`='1'"); $authAdapter->setIdentity($email); $authAdapter->setCredential($password); But it doesn't work. If i delete the inactive user with the same mail-address, everything work's. Why is that?

• Why is it possible to save entity but not delete if transactional annotation is set to readonly=true

My class is annotated with org.springframework.transaction.annotation.Transactional like this: @Transactional(readOnly = true) public class MyClass { I then have a dao class: @Override public void delete(final E entity) { getSession().delete(entity); } @Override public void save(final E entity) { getSession().saveOrUpdate(entity); } Then I have two methods in MyClass @Transactional(readOnly = false) public void doDelete(Entity entity){ daoImpl.delete(entity) } //@Transactional(readOnly = false) public void doSave(){ daoImpl.save(entity) } Saving and deleting works like a charm. But if I remove the @Transactional(readOnly = false) on doDelete method deletion stops working, Saving works with and without the method annotation. So my question is: WHY?
