    I have a query like this: SELECT COUNT(*) AS amount FROM daily_individual_tracking WHERE sales = 'YES' AND daily_individual_tracking_date BETWEEN '2010-01-01' AND '2010-03-31' I am selected from a date range. Is there a way to also get the total days in the date range?

    According to the java API, the constructor Date(year, month, day) is depreciated. I know that I can replace it with the following code: Calendar myCal = Calendar.getInstance(); myCal.set(Calendar.YEAR, theYear); myCal.set(Calendar.MONTH, theMonth); myCal.set(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH, theDay); Date theDate = myCal.getTime(); However, I would like something shorter to replace it with (ideally one-two lines).     I have three date ranges in mysql table as follow from 2013-09-29 to 2013-10-02 from 2013-10-14 to 2013-10-16 from 2013-10-28 to 2013-11-05 I want to count only days that occur in Month of October, for example from first range (2013-09-29 to 2013-10-02) I should get difference of two days (1st and 2nd October) , and it should ignore days from September month, Finally i want to count total days in a given month from above date ranges. Can it be done from direct mysql query. or any short PHP logic.

  • Convert a PDF eBook to ePub Format

    Would you like to read a PDF eBook on an eReader or mobile device, but aren’t happy with the performance? Here’s how you can convert your PDFs to the popular ePub format so you can easily read them on any device. PDFs are a popular format for eBooks since they render the same on any device and can preserve the exact layout of the print book.  However, this benefit is their major disadvantage on mobile devices, as you often have to zoom and pan back and forth to see everything on the page.  ePub files, on the other hand, are an increasingly popular option. They can reflow to fill your screen instead of sticking to a strict layout style.  With the free Calibre program, you can quickly convert your PDF eBooks to ePub format. Getting Started Download the Calibre installer (link below) for your operating system, and install as normal.  Calibre works on recent versions of Windows, OS X, and Linux.  The Calibre installer is very streamlined, so the install process was quite quick. Calibre is a great application for organizing your eBooks.  It can automatically sort your books by their metadata, and even display their covers in a Coverflow-style viewer. To add an eBook to your library, simply drag-and-drop the file into the Calibre window, or click Add books at the top.  Here you can choose to add all the books from a folder and more. Calibre will then add the book(s) to your library, import the associated metadata, and organize them in the catalog. Convert your Books Once you’ve imported your books into Calibre, it’s time to convert them to the format you want.  Select the book or books you want to convert, and click Convert E-books.  Select whether you want to convert them individually or bulk convert them. The convertor window has lots of options, so you can get your ePub book exactly like you want.  You can simply click Ok and go with the defaults, or you can tweak the settings. Do note that the conversion will only work successfully with PDFs that contain actual text.  Some PDFs are actually images scanned in from the original books; these will appear just like the PDF after the conversion, and won’t be any easier to read. On the first tab, you’ll notice that Calibri will repopulate most of the metadata fields with info from your PDF.  It will also use the first page of the PDF as the cover.  Edit any of the information that may be incorrect, and add any additional information you want associated with the book. If you want to convert your eBook to a different format other than ePub, Calibri’s got you covered, too.  On the top right, you can choose to output the converted eBook into a many different file formats, including the Kindle-friendly MOBI format. One other important settings page is the Structure Detection tab.  Here you can choose to have it remove headers and footers in the converted book, as well as automatically detect chapter breaks. Click Ok when you’ve finished choosing your settings and Calibre will convert the book.  This may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the PDF.  If the conversion seems to be taking too long, you can click Show job details for more information on the progress.   The conversion usually works good, but we did have one job freeze on us.  When we checked the job details, it indicated that the PDF was copy-protected.  Most PDF eBooks, however, worked fine. Now, back in the main Calibri window, select your book and save it to disk.  You can choose to save only the EPUB format, or you can select Save to disk to save all formats of the book to your computer. You can also view the ePub file directly in Calibri’s built-in eBook viewer.  This is the PDF book we converted, and it looks fairly good in the converted format.  It does have some odd line breaks and some misplaced numbers, but on the whole, the converted book is much easier to read, especially on small mobile devices.   Even images get included inline, so you shouldn’t be missing anything from the original eBook. Conclusion Calibri makes it simple to read your eBooks in any format you need. It is a project that is in constant development, and updates regularly adding better stability and features.  Whether you want to ready your PDF eBooks on a Sony Reader, Kindle, netbook or Smartphone, your books will now be more accessible than ever.  And with thousands of free PDF eBooks out there, you’ll be sure to always have something to read. Running query but returns 33 records instead of 3.     I have got a table set up in one sheet with "transactions". Each row contains a name of a vendor, the amount owed or paid depending on transaction type, and the due date/transaction date. Here is some simplified sample data: Vendor Date Invoice Payment Vendor A 6/30 $200 Vendor A 6/30 ($200) Vendor B 7/5 $500 Vendor B 7/5 ($500) Vendor C 10/28 $50 Vendor A 10/30 $100 Vendor C 11/15 $50 I have already built a PivotTable from that table to group these transactions by vendor and sum the remainder owed. What I'm trying to figure out is how to, for each vendor, get the next due date (min date of the group, excluding dates < Today()), or if there is no next due date then I want to see the max date for that group. Here is what my PivotTable looks like, plus the date column I'd like to add (assuming Today() = 10/23): Vendor Date Owed Vendor B 7/5 - Vendor C 10/28 $100 Vendor A 10/30 $100 I know calling it next due date might not be so accurate if I end up with the date of a payment in that column, but I'm ok with that. tl;dr : I want to find the next earliest date within each group, or the last date. How do I do this?

The same happens for {0:u} or {0:s}. Any help would be gratefully received. :)

    Hello everybody, Today my question is about date formats and strings. My application downloads some strings representing dates from the internet. The date format is always like this: "2010-05-24 at 20:45" I need to convert this string into an NSDate object in order to perform some date manipulations. I tried this code: NSString * dateString = @"2010-05-24 at 20:45" // actually downloaded from the internet NSDateFormatter * myDateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [myDateFormatter setDateFormat:@"yyyy-MM-dd 'at' HH:mm"]; NSDate * dateFromString = [myDateFormatter dateFromString:dateString]; This seems to work perfectly fine as long as the iPhone is set to 24h clock. As long as I switch to 12h clock in the general settings the NSDate object is not created (and the application happily crashes) I have read others having similar problems but I don't seem to find a solution. Now the questions: It doesn't make sense to me that the NSDateFormatter is sensible to user settings as long as I am specifying which format it is supposed to use to parse the string (which is not modifiable because it comes from the web), what's the use of checking user settings? More important, how can I get my task performed (to get an NSDate object from the string regardless the user settings)?

  • Converting FoxPro Date type to SQL Server 2005 DateTime using SSIS

    Hi, When using SSIS in SQL Server 2005 to convert a FoxPro database to a SQL Server database, if the given FoxPro database has a date type, SSIS assumes it is an integer type. The only way to convert it to a dateTime type is to manually select this type. However, that is not practical to do for over 100 tables. Thus, I have been using a workaround in which I use DTS on SQL Server 2000 which converts it to a smallDateTime, then make a backup, then a restore into SQL Server 2005. This workaround is starting to be a little annoying. So, my question is: Is there anyway to setup SSIS so that whenever it encounters a date type to automatically assume it should be converted to a dateTime in SQL Server and apply that rule across the board? Update To be specific, if I use the import/export wizard in SSIS, I get the following error: Column information for the source and the destination data could not be retrieved, or the data types of source columns were not mapped correctly to those available on the destination provider. Followed by a list of a given table's date columns. If I manually set each one to a dateTime, it imports fine. But I do not wish to do this for a hundred tables.

    Hi all, I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my code. Maybe it would be simpler to just compare date and not time. Not sure how to do this either and I searched but couldn't find my exact problem. BTW, when I display the two dates in an alert, they show as exactly the same.   • A "smart" (forgiving) date parser?

    I have to migrate a very large dataset from one system to another. One of the "source" column contains a date but is really a string with no constraint, while the destination system mandates a date in the format yyyy-mm-dd. Many, but not all, of the source dates are formatted as yyyymmdd. So to coerce them to the expected format, I do (in Perl): return "$1-$2-$3" if ($val =~ /(\d{4})[-\/]*(\d{2})[-\/]*(\d{2})/); The problem arises when the source dates moves away from the "generic" yyyymmdd. The goal is to salvage as many dates as possible, before giving up. Example source strings include: 21/3/1998, March 2004, 2001, 3/4/97 I can try to match as many of the examples I can find with a succession of regular expressions such as the one above. But is there something smarter to do? Am I not reinventing the wheel? Is there a library somewhere doing something similar? I couldn't find anything relevant googling "forgiving date parser". (any language is OK).

    The following script is returning the wrong time after I call date_default_timezone_set("UTC") <?PHP $timestamp = time(); echo "<p>Timestamp: $timestamp</p>"; // This returns the correct time echo "<p>". date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $timestamp) ."</p>"; echo "<p>Now I call 'date_default_timezone_set(\"UTC\")' and echo out the same timestamp.</p>"; echo "Set timezone = " . date_default_timezone_set("UTC"); // This returns a time 5 hours in the past echo "<p>". date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $timestamp) ."</p>"; ?> The timezone on the server is BST. So what should happen is that the second call to 'date' should return a time 1 hour behind the first call. It's actually returning a time 5 hours behind the first one. I should note that the server was originally set up with the EDT timezone (UTC -4). That was changed to BST (UTC +1) and the server was restarted. I can't figure out if this is a PHP problem or a problem with the server.

    Hi In Android I can get phone numbers of all the contacts without any problem. Tha problem is that for most users some numbers are stored as 'local' numbers, meaning that they dont have the country code included. For example, if the user lives in US and he has 2 contacts: 1) John - 555-123-1234 (local) (starting 1 not showing) 2) Jane - 44-123456787 (england phone number) The question is: How do I get all the numbers in an international format, when some of the numbers doesnt include the country code?     I have created a Money class to save money values in different currencies. The class uses 3 letter ISO symbols to store currency types: public class Money { public decimal Amount { get; set; } public string Currency { get; set; } } Is there a way in C# to use this information, say 100.00 USD, and format it as "$100.00"? Only way I know of requires CultureInfo like this: Amount.ToString("C", CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("en-US")); However this does not work with my Money class. Is there another solution? I am open to changing my Money class. I have searched this site for similar questions (such as this), but couldn't find one that answers the above question.

    I'm wanting to display money like SWOS (or Sensible World of Soccer) used to. IE: Instead of: $10,000,000+ you got $10m, 10.5m, etc. Instead of: $1,000,000 you got $1m Instead of: $1,500,000 you got $1.5m It also worked for both large and smaller figures, say; 1k, 1.25k, 0.75k, 0.25k, etc. I'm wondering, is there a way to display money in a format that is similar to the way SWOS used to do it?     What is the format string modifier for char-as-number? I want to read in a number never exceeding 255 (actually much less) into an unsigned char type variable using sscanf. Using the typical char source[] = "x32"; char separator; unsigned char dest; int len; len = sscanf(source,"%c%d",&separator,&dest); // validate and proceed... I'm getting the expected warning: argument 4 of sscanf is type char*, int* expected. As I understand the specs, there is no modifier for char (like %sd for short, or %lld for 64-bit long) is it dangerous? (will overflow just overflow (roll-over) the variable or will it write outside the allocated space?) is there a prettier way to achieve that than allocating a temporary int variable? ...or would you suggest an entirely different approach altogether?
