  • RSA PKCS1 implementation in Python

    - by user307016
I'm working on the RSA PKCS1 implementation in Python, here's the message block i got: m = [0,2,random paddings,0,message integers] I read the RFC2313,and get a equation seems for transforming the message block object into an big-edian integer. I just get confused about how to transform it in Python. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Implementation of java.lang.Random in PHP and C

    - by justinhj
I'm looking for a random number generator that I can run in PHP, C and Java that will always return the same sequence of numbers for a given seed. Here's the Java implementation I would use: java.util.random source Whilst this would be fairly straightforward to port to C and PHP, there is potentially a lot of work to get all the edge cases correct and handle differences in number representation. I'd be extremely happy to just copy and paste a fully tested version should it exist.

  • PHP Priority Queue Implementation

    - by Zahymaka
I just finished coding a complex job assignment application where a lot of the work was done using priority queues. When I deployed, however, I discovered the web server ran PHP 5.2. Has there been an implementation for PHP<5.3 that can server as a drop-in replacement for SPLPriorityQueue?

  • Undo implementation - DOM manipulations

    - by sonofdelphi
Is there a library that can be used for implementing undo/redo functionality for DOM element manipulations in JavaScript? I'm writing an app that moves around DOM elements, enables editing and deletion of those elements. There are event-handlers and other objects associated with each element operated upon. Not sure whether I need to roll my own implementation of the Command pattern for this. Surely, there must be something available? If not, suggestions and pointers would be a great help.

  • Implementation of interface when using child class of a parent class in method of interface

    - by dotnetdev
I don't have access to my dev environment, but when I write the below: interface IExample void Test (HtmlControl ctrl); class Example : IExample { public void Test (HtmlTextArea area) { } I get an error stating the methods in the class implementation don't match the interface - so this is not possible. HtmlTextArea is a child class of HtmlControl, is there no way this is possible? I tried with .NET 3.5, but .NET 4.0 may be different (I am interested in any solution with either framework). Thanks

  • Singleton Pattern Implementation Issues?

    - by locky28
Hi I am revising for an exam and need to know some implementation issues with the singleton pattern. they do not need to be too complex just basic things that would affect a developers decision to include them, Thanks P.S. Could any code examples be given in Java thanks.

  • There's @interface in my @implementation — why is that?

    - by Mark McDonald
This is a pretty noobish question – I'm looking at some Cocoa sample code and there's @interface blocks in the .m files as well as the headers. For instance, in the AppDelegate class header, a UIWindow and UI navigation are defined as instance variables, but the @property declarations are actually made in the implementation file. Is there a functional reason for this, is it a stylistic choice, or… ?

  • WPF: Implementation of ApplicationCommands.Copy?

    - by Ikhail
I just created a menu with Command="ApplicationCommands.Copy" and I thought I had to handle the Executed event of the binding, and add a binding but I just don't need to. Now I'm confused! Where is the implementation of this command? How can it automatically copy a text selected in any of the textboxes I have in my window? thanks!

  • MVC implementation/best-practices question

    - by Vivin Paliath
I have to work with some code that isn't truly MVC (i.e., it doesn't use an explicit framework among other things). Right now we make do with servlets that pass data to services. Here is my problem. I am receiving a post to a servlet that contains a whole bunch of address data that I have to save to the database. The data is (obviously) in the HttpRequest object. My question is, how do I pass this data into a service? I am reluctant to do it like this: AddressService.saveAddress(request); Because I don't think the service should have a dependency on the request. My other option is to do something like this: String addressLine = request.getParameter("addressLine"); .. .. about 7 other parameters .. String zip = request.getParameter("zip"); AddressService.saveAddress(addressLine, ... 7 other parameters ..., zip); But I don't like having a function with a huge number of parameters either. I was thinking of making an intermediate object called AddressData that would hold data from the request, and then passing that into the service. Is that an acceptable way of doing things?

  • Request-local storage in ASP.NET (accessible to the code from IHttpModule implementation)

    - by IgorK
I need to have some object hanging around between two events I'm interested in: PreRequestHandlerExecute (where I create an instance of my object and want to save it) and PostRequestHandlerExecute (where I want to get to the object). After the second event the object is not needed for my purposes and should be discarded either by storage or my explicit action. So the ideal context where my object should be stored is per request (with guaranteed no sharing issues when different threads are serving requests... or processes/servers :) ) Take into account that actual implementation I can do is being made from a HttpModule and is supposed to be a pluggable solution for already written web apps (so the option to provide some state using static/instance variables in Global.asax doesn't look good - I will have to modify Global.asax on every web application). Cache seems to be too broad for this use. I tried to see whether httpContext.Application (of type HttpApplicationState) is good for me or not, but cannot get whether it is exactly per HttpApplication instance or not (AFAIK you can have several instances of HttpApplications used on different threads and therefore serving several requests simultaneously - then using storage shared between threads will not work correctly; otherwise I would use it because one HttpApplication instance serves exactly one request at a time). Something could be done with storing state on the HttpModule instances if I know for sure that it's exactly bound 1-to-1 with every HttpApplication instance running (but again I need a proof that HttpApplication instance is 1-to-1 with my HttpModule's instance). Any valuable and reputable links on these topics are much appreciated... Would be great to find something particularly well-suited for per request situation (because otherwise I may end up with something ulgy... probably either some 'broader' scoped storage and some hacks to have different keys in the storage for different requests, OR using a thread-local thing and in this way commit to the theory that IIS/ASP.NET will not ever serve first event from one thread and the second event from the other thread and so on)

  • Python TEA implementation

    - by Gaks
    Anybody knows proper python implementation of TEA (Tiny Encryption Algorithm)? I tried the one I've found here: http://sysadminco.com/code/python-tea/ - but it does not seem to work properly. It returns different results than other implementations in C or Java. I guess it's caused by completely different data types in python (or no data types in fact). Here's the code and an example: def encipher(v, k): y=v[0];z=v[1];sum=0;delta=0x9E3779B9;n=32 w=[0,0] while(n>0): y += (z << 4 ^ z >> 5) + z ^ sum + k[sum & 3] y &= 4294967295L # maxsize of 32-bit integer sum += delta z += (y << 4 ^ y >> 5) + y ^ sum + k[sum>>11 & 3] z &= 4294967295L n -= 1 w[0]=y; w[1]=z return w def decipher(v, k): y=v[0] z=v[1] sum=0xC6EF3720 delta=0x9E3779B9 n=32 w=[0,0] # sum = delta<<5, in general sum = delta * n while(n>0): z -= (y << 4 ^ y >> 5) + y ^ sum + k[sum>>11 & 3] z &= 4294967295L sum -= delta y -= (z << 4 ^ z >> 5) + z ^ sum + k[sum&3] y &= 4294967295L n -= 1 w[0]=y; w[1]=z return w Python example: >>> import tea >>> key = [0xbe168aa1, 0x16c498a3, 0x5e87b018, 0x56de7805] >>> v = [0xe15034c8, 0x260fd6d5] >>> res = tea.encipher(v, key) >>> "%X %X" % (res[0], res[1]) **'70D16811 F935148F'** C example: #include <unistd.h> #include <stdio.h> void encipher(unsigned long *const v,unsigned long *const w, const unsigned long *const k) { register unsigned long y=v[0],z=v[1],sum=0,delta=0x9E3779B9, a=k[0],b=k[1],c=k[2],d=k[3],n=32; while(n-->0) { sum += delta; y += (z << 4)+a ^ z+sum ^ (z >> 5)+b; z += (y << 4)+c ^ y+sum ^ (y >> 5)+d; } w[0]=y; w[1]=z; } int main() { unsigned long v[] = {0xe15034c8, 0x260fd6d5}; unsigned long key[] = {0xbe168aa1, 0x16c498a3, 0x5e87b018, 0x56de7805}; unsigned long res[2]; encipher(v, res, key); printf("%X %X\n", res[0], res[1]); return 0; } $ ./tea **D6942D68 6F87870D** Please note, that both examples were run with the same input data (v and key), but results were different. I'm pretty sure C implementation is correct - it comes from a site referenced by wikipedia (I couldn't post a link to it because I don't have enough reputation points yet - some antispam thing)

  • "Class ref in pre-verified class resolved to unexpected implementation" when running android tests i

    - by Mike
I have a module that builds an app called MyApp. I have another that builds some testcases for that app, called MyAppTests. They both build their own APKs, and they both work fine from within my IDE. I'd like to build them using ant so that I can take advantage of continuous integration. Building the app module works fine. I'm having difficulty getting the Test module to compile and run. Using Christopher's tip from a previous question, I used android create test-project -p MyAppTests -m ../MyApp -n MyAppTests to create the necessary build files to build and run my test project. This seems to work great (once I remove an unnecessary test case that it constructed for me and revert my AndroidManifest.xml to the one I was using before it got replaced by android create), but I have two problems. The first problem: The project doesn't compile because it's missing libraries. $ ant run-tests Buildfile: build.xml [setup] Project Target: Google APIs [setup] Vendor: Google Inc. About twice a month I get asked to justify the reason "Why are we using ASP.NET and not PHP or Java, or buzz-word-of-the-month-here, etc". 100% of the time the questions come from people that do not understand anything about technology. People that would not know the difference between FTP and HTTP. The best approach I found (so far) to justify it to people without getting into technical details is to just say "XXX website uses it". Which I get back "Oh...I did not know that, so ASP.NET must be good". I know, I know, it hurts. But it works. So, without getting into the merit of why I'm using ASP.NET (which could trigger an endless argument for other platforms), I'm trying to compile a list of high profile websites that are implemented in ASP.NET. (No, they would have no idea what StackOverflow is). Can you name a high-profile website implemented in ASP.NET? EDIT: Current list (thanks for all the responses): (trying to avoid tech sites and prioritizing retail sites) Costco - http://www.costco.com/ Crate & Barrel - http://www.crateandbarrel.com/ Home Shopping Network - http://www.hsn.com/ Buy.com - http://www.buy.com/ Dell - http://www.dell.com Nasdaq - http://www.nasdaq.com/ Virgin - http://www.virgin.com/ 7-Eleven - http://www.7-eleven.com/ Carnival Cruise Lines - http://www.carnival.com/ L'Oreal - http://www.loreal.com/ The White House - http://www.whitehouse.gov/ Remax - http://www.remax.com/ Monster Jobs - http://www.monster.com/ USA Today - http://www.usatoday.com/ ComputerJobs.com - http://computerjobs.com/ Match.com - http://www.match.com National Health Services (UK) - http://www.nhs.uk/ CarrerBuilder.com - http://www.careerbuilder.com/

  • fast, clean, C, timsort implementation?

    - by Drew Wagner
Does anyone know of a clean implementation of timsort? The Python sources contain a description and code for the original timsort, but it is understandably full of python-specific calls. I have a smoothly varying 2D array of double floats that I would like to sort as quickly as possible. It ought to contain a lot of monotonically increasing and decreasing runs. I'd like to try timsorting the rows individually, and then merging the sorted rows. If you know of a better sort technique, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

  • TypeLoadException says 'no implementation', but it is implemented

    - by Benjol
(I spent a few hours yesterday fighting with this problem, couldn't find any solutions here or anywhere else, so I'm adding this here for anyone else who has this problem.) I've got a very weird bug on our test machine. The error is: System.TypeLoadException: Method 'SetShort' in type 'DummyItem' from assembly 'ActiveViewers (...)' does not have an implementation. I just can't understand why - I'm looking at my code, SetShort is there in the DummyItem class, and I've even recompiled a version with writes to the event log just to make sure that it's not a deployment/versioning issue. The weird thing is that the calling code doesn't even call the SetShort method...

  • Unable to sync custom authentication with RIA services in SL3 + RIA implementation

    - by Nair
I am developing SL3 + RIA services with custom authentication. I followed the example in http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/RiaServices/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2661 to implement custom authentication. Based on the implementation, you first do login request from client to service. This request is async process. Noe the client GUI will start to bind data to SL controls using RIA services, which requires the authentication to be successful (by adding [RequireAuthentication] attribute). The trouble is, since you requested login from the main process, while it is doing authentication, the page control takes over and starts to bind data using RIA services. But the problem is authentication is not completed yet thus which ever the first service method data binding hits will fail with 'Access denied'. Bottom line is GUI is will not wait for authentication to be completed to start the data binding. My question is how do you handle this situation? Thanks,
