  • HTTPS only on specific page with .htaccess

    Hi all I have a URL such as http://www.domain.com/index.php?p=register. I want to redirect that to use HTTPS (SSL) with .htaccess, but only on this, and a couple of other pages (the login page, etc), but not the entire site. The URLs don't point to directories, but are used to dynamically include different files. Can someone give me a pointer or an example of how to get a single page redirect to HTTPS please?     I want to redirect from a old url which still appears in the google search to the new one. the old url is this: http://www.marionettecolla.org/file%20_mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm and I want to redirect it to the home page: http://www.marionettecolla.org/ I used this in my .htaccess: Redirect http://marionettecolla.org/file\ _mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm http://marionettecolla.org/ but I am getting Error 500... Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

    Normally one would have a webroot that looks like this: /www/ | +--index.php | +-- js/ | | | +-- xyz.js | +-- css/ | | | +--xyz.css | +---etc..... With my setup, it is going to be most beneficial for me to move everything into a common subfolder, leaving the index.php of the Cake app in the root. I.e: /www/ | +--index.php | | +-- resources | +-- js/ | | | +-- xyz.js | +-- css/ | | | +--xyz.css | +---etc..... What is my .htaccess going to look like? Thanks!

    I have the following code in my Root htaccess file RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^paperviewmagazine.com RewriteRule (.*) http://www.paperviewmagazine.com/$1 [R=301,L] It works fine for the main site, but for my forums at /forums/ if someone misses off the www it will show the page and not redirect to the www.paperviewmagazine.com/forums/ instead. I need to force the WWW to prevent anyone from logging in by accident on the non-www as it wont have the correct cookie credentials for accessing the site at www./forums/ Can anyone help? Thanks.

So when the site, sub.domain.com is requested I want to redirect it to show the content of domain.com/sub/ The server is configured to add every request to the domain, but i get a 404 page everytime i do a non-defined subdomain call (witch is trivial, because theres nothing defined) So the question is: How to solve this, with .htaccess?

    I guess this should be straightforward but my host got me to switch server from zeus to apache following which the .htaccess file with existing individual 301 redirects failed to work causing an internal server error, so have commented them out for the time being. Could someone explain how to set these up to work in their new apache context? Have no apache experience Example redirect: Redirect 301 /pages/exhibitions/thegreatindoors.html http://www.klassnik.com/pages/thegreatindoors.html Read a lot about mod rewrites etc but not sure what to write.     Hi, I am looking for ideas for how I can stop external scripts connecting with my site. I'm looking for the same kind of idea behind Google. As in if a certain amount of requests are made per a certain amount of time then block the IP address or something. I thought there maybe a htaccess solution if not, I will write a PHP one.     hi guys, Suppose my website is www.example.com Earlier the urls of my website was like this www.example.com/php/bookdetails.php?bid=33 Last week i changed the urls of my site to this www.example.com/bookdetails/33 and wrote an htacces like this RewriteRule ^bookdetails/(.*)$ php/bookSearchResult.php?bid=$1 The problem is that there are some external site using my earlier URL structure (www.example.com/php/bookdetails.php?bid=33) and what i want is to redirect it to my new URL structure (www.example.com/bookdetails/33).     Using php I authenticate a user, then behind the scenes,they are then again authenticated a second time with a single .htaccess username & password. This would be the same for all users, but I would not want them to have to enter a username and password again and they would now be allowed to enter the password protected directory. I prefer not to use http://username@password:somedomain.com. Any thoughts?

    Using a .htaccess rewrite rule, I need to add "?q=" before the path on any URL's containing the word "imagecache" Therefore, if the URL is: http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg ...then it will really try: http://mysite.com/?q=sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg But that will ONLY happen if the URL contains "imagecache." Otherwise, it does no rewriting. Also, this will only happen if /sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg isn't already an existing image file. I believe I can do that using: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f ...right? It's just the first part that I can't figure out.

    I'm trying to make sure old url's aren't broken after the site's URL structure has changed from this: http://www.domain.com/section/entry_name to this: http://www.domain.com/section/event_name/entry_name But to make it a bit more complex, I'm using the segments to sort entries, for example: http://www.domain.com/news/amazing_event/date/asc http://www.domain.com/videos/my_event/title/desc The new structure only effects one particular event (amazing_event) and should leave the other URL's alone. Where do I even begin to tackle this?     Hi - I have a situation where I want to take the following URL: /1/john and have it redirect using Apache's htaccess file to go to /page.php?id=1&name=john#john so that it goes to an html anchor with the name of john. I've found a lot of reference to escaping special characters, and to adding the [NE] flag so that the redirect ignores the # sign, but these don't work. For example, adding [NE,R] means that the URL just appears in the browser address as the original: http://mysite.com/page.php?id=1&name=john#john. Any help would be appreciated.
