  • Move Items per rule after they are one day old

    I'm not even sure if this is possible with Outlook's current rule set but I thought I'd ask. I'd like emails that meet certain characteristics to automatically be moved from my inbox after they are a day old. I get a lot of notification emails that I end up having to remove the next day manually since I get new ones to replace them each day. So a rule would be like: If the email is from [email protected] and older then 1 day move to already read folder.

  • Why do firefox/chrome show a different page than IE8?

    When I look at this published Google Docs document, I see the latest version with Firefox and Chrome, but an older version with IE8. Also, screen-scraping it via PHP/Curl gives me an older version. I've tried CTRL-Refresh in IE8 but I can't get it to show me the newest version. No matter what headers I try to change in PHP/Curl, I can't get it to show me the newest version. What am I not understanding about browsers/headers/caching here? How can it be that different browsers show different contents of one page?

  • Should we bother about IE < 8?

    Hi there. It might look like philosophical question, however it really bother me. We're expecting HTML 5, we're using JS, Ajax, Flex, all this stuff, but when older browsers were devleoped, nooone even dreamed about such technologies. IE6 can't see transparency in PNG's. Some correct W3C techniques, are bad interpreted by IE6. It's just too old for our "new" world. IE7 is sight better better than IE6, but it still has some weird errors. How many people use IE6 now? And if someone upgraded to IE7, doesn't he already upgraded to IE8? Should we bother about those browsers? (sorry for bad eng, but noone in my country answered me to this)

  • Can we 301 redirect to a new page, but still publish the old content somewhere else?

    We have a page on the site which ranks well for an SEO term (top 5) but contains old information. We have added a new page but Google doesn't rank it that well. Information on these pages is time sensitive. Old: example.com/2013-related-information.html New: example.com/2014-related-information.html Obvious solution is to delete old page and do a 301 redirect to the new page. Now, can we still keep the old page by giving it a new URL. example.com/2013-related-information.html is redirected to example.com/2014-related-information.html example.com/2014-related-information.html is recreated with a new address such as example.com/new-2013-related-information.html What we are trying to do is to send the user to the fresh page but still not destroying the record copy if someone wants to go and dig up the old information.

  • How to Do htaccess 301 Redirect from Old Filename Pattern to New Filename Pattern?

    I have a bunch of old files prefixed with "old-" (e.g. "old-abcde.php"). I need an htaccess rule to set up a 301 redirect so that any request for a file starting with "old-" goes to its corresponding new version (e.g. "abcde.php"). To be clear, I have many files, not just one, so I can't do a literal filename match. I basically just need to strip off the "old-" from request and redirect to the version without it. I know I probably just need a simple regular expression, but I'm not good at writing them. Can anyone provide assistance?

    Possible Duplicate: So now Google has said no to old browsers when can the rest of us follow suit? Normally a SO browser but this question doesn't fit there, hopefully it fits here. I just want to ask from web designers' point of view if it's wrong to not care about supporting Internet Explorer or older browsers. The site I'm designing looks great in all browsers except IE9-. There are certain things that IE doesn't support or behave like other browsers; AJAX, JQuery, webkit stuff, some CSS styles, drop-and-drop files from OS etc etc, but it all works great in Safari, FireFox, Chrome etc. Should I be that concerned? I know there are several people that use IE, but it's limitations have just been causing me more work by having to come up with workarounds. From what I've read, many of the issues I've been having should be solved with IE10, but not everybody keeps up to date. I know of several people who are still using IE6! Again, I'm hoping this is the right place to ask a question like this, and if not, please point me to the right stack exchange site instead of just downvoting me. Thanks!

  • Properly obsoleting old members in an XML Serializable class in C# VB .NET

    Hi! Some time ago I defined a class that was serialized using XML. That class contained a serializable propertyA of integer type. Now I have extended and updated this class, whereby a new propertyB was added, whose type is another class that also has several serializable properties. The new propertyB is now supposed to play the role of propertyA, that is since type of propertyB is another class, one of its members would contain the value that previously propertyA contained, thus making peroptyA obsolete. What I am trying to figure out is how do I make sure that when I desireliaze the OLD version of this class (without propertyB in it), I make sure that the desreializer would take the value of propertyA from the old calss and set it as a value of one of the members of propertyB in a new class?   • squid ssl bump sslv3 enforce to allow old sites

    Important: I have this question on stackoverflow but somebody told me this is more relevant place for this question. Thanks I have configured squid(3.4.2) as ssl bumped proxy. I am setting proxy in firefox(29) to use squid for https/http. Now it works for most sites, but some sites which support old SSL proto(sslv3) break, and I see squid not employing any workarounds for those like browsers do. Sites which should work: https://usc-excel.officeapps.live.com/ , https://www.mahaconnect.in As a workaround I have set sslproxy_version=3 , which enforces SSLv3 and above sites work. My question: is there a better way to do this which does not involve enforcing SSLv3 for servers supporting TLS1 or better. Now I know openssl doesn't automatically handle that. But I imagined squid would.     IE has WinInet API, such as GetUrlCacheEntryInfo, to read and manipulate IE browser cache. Is there a similar API for non IE browsers such as Firefox or Chrome? If so where can I get more info?   • jQuery Script works in all browsers but Chrome

The error console says Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'toLowerCase' of undefined Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an Object> has no method 'set' however i don't know what to do with this information.     I'm finding a lot of problems with trying to determine readyState between IE8, FF3, and Chrome. so far this is what I find: Chrome, FF do not fire an event for .onReadyStateChanged Chrome, FF support .onLoad IE8 supports .onReadyStateChanged, but does not support .onLoad IE8 has also returned loaded, and complete. Mostly it states loaded, but every now and then it spits out complete. Can anyone point me to a chart or overview of browsers and the way they handle readyStates?

I know that the ECMA Script specification does not specify which algorithm to use, nor does it specify whether the sort should be stable. I've found this information on for Firefox https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Core_JavaScript_1.5_Reference/Global_Objects/Array/sort which specifies that firefox uses a stable sort. Does anyone know about IE 6/7/8, Chrome, Safari?
