The above command does work on the guest machine.

• How do I set up my home server to go directly to a port other than 80

  I'm using dyndns, a lynksis wt54g router, and tomcat 7 with spring to set up a web server. This is my first time to attempt this. I'm sure this is a very common question, but I don't know enough to find the answer after quite a bit searching. Dyndns is successfully forwarding to my ip. The main problem is, the router admin login is coming up when my url is used. I'm hosting my site on port 8080. I have port forwarding set up for port 8080 but my request times out when I attempt to use my url like this www.myurl1234.com:8080. I don't want users to have to type the port anyway. I also tried changing the management port to 82 and hosting on port 80, but I still get the router admin login when I use my url. Where am I going wrong? Can I set it up so that www.myurl1234.com goes straight to port 8080?

  Here's my situation: On my network, most of the clients are on an outside router. Router 1 192.168.1.1 | | - Client | Router 2 192.168.1.2 to router 1, | 192.168.2.1 to clients within | Samba server - 192.168.2.25 I cannot figure out how to get clients under router 1 to access the Samba shares in router 2. I have forwarded ports 139 and 445 to the appropriate machine in router 2 but machines in router 1 still cannot access the server. How would I set this up?

• Why is the System process listening on Port 443?

  I am having problems starting my apache server, because port 443 is already in use. It turns out, the system process (PID 4) uses the port 443. I don't have IIS installed, the services.msc shows (predicatbly) no Exchange server running, nor WWW-Services, nor IIS. I have no idea how to find out what service uses that port short of just disabling each service one after the other, and I am not even sure that would help. I would be grateful if someone could point me towards how I can get my SSL port back, thank you :) P.S.: Of course "just switch apache to another port for SSL" would solve the problem of not being able to start apache. But I'd still like to know what is so insistent about hogging port 443. :) Edit: I by now took the 'hard route' and disabled services one after the other. It turned out that the "Routing and RAS" service was the culprit. Thank you all for the valuable input and the new tools in the combat against "WTF does my system do now".

• Cannot Enter Repro Admin Web Interface at Port 5080

  I have followed the instructions on this website www.rtcquickstart.org to set up my firewall, DNS settings, TLS, and have installed the TURN server and repro proxy as instructed, and have restarted repro. However, I am not able to access the web interface of repro on port 5080, either at localhost:5080 / 127.0.0.1:5080 or at the server's IP address: IPADDRESS:5080 (I have set the server's IP for binding in repro.config). I get the browser error message: 'Unable to connect to server' whenever trying to connect to the web interface via port 5080. I initially had Apache2 installed, which loaded pages correctly at port 80 / address root, and when checked it 'listened' at port 5080 after it was configured in /etc/apache2/ports.conf, however the repro web interface still did not work at port 5080. I have tried uninstalling Apache2 in case that was conflicting with repro's web server, but the problem persists, and testing port 5080 now shows that nothing is 'listening' on port 5080. I have tried reinstalling / purging repro but it has not helped. My router is correctly set to allow all ports; port 5080 is open and forwarding correctly. I can connect to the internet and ping all websites through the server and everything else is working correctly. I would be gateful if anyone could offer advice on how to solve this problem.

  Hi, all Currently I am doing a project involves a bluetooth communication setup between a PDA and a small embedded device. This small embedded device can only be communicated with a virtual serial port over a bluetooth link. The PDA is the ipaq running with windows mobile 6, and I am using c#. I had done a program which can communication with the serial port over bluetooth. But the only issue is every time I run this program, I have to active the bluetooth radio, and manually pairing this device with the pda via the bluetooth manager. What I want to do is when running this program, it can establish the bluetooth connection between the pda and the embedded module. So I am using functions from the 32feet prject. This is one issue is I cant make the virutal serial port part, as I think the 32feet project can only make virual serial ports for the window bluetooth stack but not the widcomm bluetooth stact, which the ipaq is using. Therefore, are there any existing c# classes or stacks that can make virtual serial port under widcomm for windows mobile 6. Thanks

  I need to send data to a hardware device over serial port. I'm using a program called serial port tool for os x. After I connect to the device there is a form box where I can type data to send. I have no idea how to format the data. Here is an excerpt from the manual for the device. "The Net Manager Command structure consists of one start byte, one command byte, five bytes of data, and a one byte checksum.   I need to connect to a Bluetooth device through virtual COM port created in Windows. It's easy when the port has been already created during manual pairing procedure. But I would like my application to relieve an user from the manual pairing of a device. I would like to present all devices in the range, allow user to chose one, and then create virtual COM port connected with the selected device. I'm not trying to avoid the pairing procedure itself, but rather I would like to invoke it by my application. I started getting familiar with Microsoft Bluetooth API. And then some doubts arose. I've been wondering what happen if some user would use different (than Microsoft's) Bluetooth stack? Is the Microsoft's API the real Bluetooth API, which have to be implemented by any other Bluetooth stack provider? Or rather each provider has its own API, and the Microsoft's is only one of many other?

The script is being daemonized using start-stop-daemon in a startup script, which may complicate the answer What I really (think) don't want is to type ps -few and see this process running with a "root" on it's line. How do I do it? ( from my less-than-fully-educated-about-system-calls perspective, I can see 3 avenues, Run the script as root (no --user/--group/--chuid to start-stop-daemon), and have it de-escalate it's user after it claims the port Setuid root on the script (chmod u+s), and run the script as the running user, (via --user/--group/--chuid to start-stop-daemon, the startup script still has to be called as root), in the script, acquire root privileges, claim the port, and then revert back to normal user something else i'm unaware of )

Since this is removable, the app user can disconnect it at any time in app. I am getting an unhandled exception when I remove the USB Serial Port.   I have a dropwizard project and I have maintained a config.yml file at the ROOT of the project (basically at the same level as pom.xml).   Is there a reason this port is open, a quick Nmap scan and Nessus scan reveal it's open, why? Are there any ramifications if I close this port via the firewall rule set? Or does anyone here now more info about this port besides Google? [TCP 5357] You just got blocked, until I break something, will see. Time to re-Nmap and re-Nessus. Nmap scan 0 open ports after closing Port 5357,Win7 still works for now, one more scan with Nessus just to make sure all is well.

Tried to look at my kern.log file with tail -f /var/log/kern.log. Got some activity when plugging/removing devices in other ports, but nothing happens when connecting a device into that port. It really looks disabled. Looked at my usb1-4 sys/bus/usb/devices/usb1/power/control and they are all set on auto. As expected, usb4 have version 3.00, the others (usb1-usb3) are 2.00.

  While I was looking for a battery management utility for my Dell E5420, I came to read this post - How can I limit battery charging to 80% capacity? . Sofar, I haven't found one that relates to my laptop. So, I wonder now if any battery manager utility can be found for my laptop specified above. I would be happy if someone could point me if such utility is available under Ubuntu 12.04 that can stop charging a battery at a certain percentage and to ONLY use A/C mode.
