    Hello All, Ive been following a tutorial to implement a search bar ( http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uitableview-searching-table-view.html ) However I cant seem to push different views.     Hello all, I am caught in a strange requirement .See the following view hierarchy and scenario . I have a tab bar application in which I have three tabs . In first tab I am showing some content with a small image title and date (uitableview in navigation controller). In the detail view of that controller there are more buttons that shows different sorts of detail like gallery button and , more details button and some , more button . On tapping each button I will push each individual view controller in the main navigation controller . Now on the horizontal orientation I am showing same list of content but in the cover flow ( in modal view controller ) fashion like the ipod application . On tapping any image we will show the same buttons like gallery and more details and tapping on it will show the new controller with the following code : UINavigationController *modalNavController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:myPhotoController]; UIBarButtonItem *backButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Back" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(backButtonPressed)]; myPhotoController.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = backButton; [backButton release]; if([self.modalViewController isViewLoaded]){ [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } modalNavController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque; [self presentModalViewController:modalNavController animated:YES]; [modalNavController release]; All this is working nicely . but when I get back the device in vertical orientation . the main modal controller will be dismissed and all the containing modal controller also will be dismissed if they are open or not . Instead of this what I want is If chooses an item in the coverflow and then if chooses gallery and if I put the device in vertical orientaion the gallery should be in the navigation hierarchy that drove me to the main list and gallery should be in horizonatal fashion . So what I want to do is that just to push the gallery controller in the main navigation hierarchy instead of showing from a madal controller . If someone wants reference then see the application "net a porter" I want to do like that . Just tell me how the controller hierarchy is working in that app . I need the help . Thanks

  • TeamCity + HG. Only pull (push?) passing builds

    Feels like with the popularity of continuous integration this one should be a piece of cake but I am stumped. I am setting up TeamCity with HG. I want to be able to push changesets up to a repository that TeamCity watches and runs builds on changes. That's easy. Next, if a build passes, I want that changeset to be pulled into a "clean" repository... one that contains only passing changesets. Should be easy but... TeamCity 6 supports multiple build steps and if any step fails, the rest don't run. My thought was to put a build step at the end that does a pull (or optionally a push?) to get the passing changeset into the clean repository. I am trying to use PsExec to run hg on the box with the repositories. If I try to run just a plain 'hg pull' it can't find the hg.exe even though it is set in the path and I have used the -w flag. I have tried putting a .bat file in the clean repository that takes a revision parameter and it works fine... locally. When I try to run the .bat file remotely (using PsExec) it runs everything fine but it tries to run it on the build agent. Even if I set the -w argument it runs the .bat file there but tries to run the contents on the build agent box. Am I just WAY off in my approach? Seems like this is a pretty obvious thing to do so either my Google skills are waning or no one thinks this is worthy of writing about. Either way, I am stuck in SVN land trying to get out so I would appreciate some help!

  • Swipe left/right to push next/previous details view

    I am working on a ios application, using storyboard. I have a simple table view with rows. Each row has a "key" string to identify it. When the user clicks on a row I push the next view "DetailsViewController" and pass the "key" as a parameter in the prepareForSegue method. The data in the second view will change based on the "key" passed. In the "DetailsViewController" I want to add a swipe gesture, when the user swipes right, I want to push the next details view. It will be as if he clicked on the next row in the table view. So to rephrase, the user has 2 ways of switching between items: he can click the item in the table view and the details view will show, he can then go back and select another item.     The stack is initialized with a int MaxSize =3. Then I push one int onto the list. " Pushed:" is returned to the console. Program crashes here. I think my logic is flawed but unsure.     Hi Stackers! I'm building an app that needs to send out notifications to users depending on user definable "notifications". So the notifications are not per event. They are arbitrary. A cron job should query the database and send out emails when it finds an event with matching criterion. The is a scheduling app. So naturally, one of the criterion is time. I think I've figured it out, but I'm sure there are better ideas out there as it seems to be a fairly common thing to do. I think I'll limit the users ability to "minutes before hand" to get notified as opposed to seconds or hours. So I have an eventA and notificationA. notificationA should be triggered if an event is due within 45 minutes. So eventA starts at 17:30. The user should be notified at 16:45. But the cron job might not run exactly at 00 seconds. So when the difference is not 45 minutes and 0 seconds it is, say, 45 minutes and 5 seconds. Notification time is past. Email doesn't get sent. User misses event. Shugar. We should also take into account that the cron job might take a long time to run. So maybe we should only trigger it every 5 minutes. So we need a bigger interval maybe. So then my guess would be to say that: if ((eventDueTime - now notificationTimeValue - interval) && (eventDueTime - now < notificationTimeValue + interval)) sendTheFrikinNotificationAlready(); It seems kind of risky if the there are thousands of notifications to send out. I guess I could make a thread for each notification and then a thread for each event that matches the criterion. That might help. Does that make sense? Any other ideas? Thanks!

I could stick to RSS but then I will need either long URLs or HTTP authentications on feeds which not all the clients like. Adobe Wave looked promising but they are only desktop, in BETA, without active development, and seem a bit buggy sometimes. Any other ideas?

    NSOperationQueue has waitUntilAllOperationsAreFinished, but I don't want to wait synchronously for it. I just want to hide progress indicator in UI when queue finishes. What's the best way to accomplish this? I can't send notifications from my NSOperations, because I don't know which one is going to be last, and [queue operations] might not be empty yet (or worse - repopulated) when notification is received.
