  • Communication with HyperTerminal [ QT and WINApi ]

    Hi! I write program to communicate with modem (it useing Hayes commands) and this is working. GUI is programmed with QT, but communication with COM port is write with winapi library. I have problem when I want to send with my program message from one computer to another, i can't send Polish chars (they are repleaced by '?'), how can I fix it ? Does anyone have idea ?? And I have one more problem, I can't send message from my program to Microsoft HyperTerminal, HyperTerminal receive something, but not that what I send. Only the up and down buttons of the SpinBox can be seen, but not any value. If Qt::ItemIsUserCheckable is removed, the SpinBox will be displayed correctly. If the number is replaced by a longer one like 0.01, it can be seen partially. Any idea how this problem can be solved?     Just installed ubuntu 13.10 x86 with all updates. I then installed qt4 libraries and qt creator 271: sudo apt-get install build-essentials sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev sudi apt-get install qtcreator Both installed successfully, and i can launch qt creator, but then i get a black window when i switch to "examples" or "development": http://i.imgur.com/koi6S9S.png The windows cannot be closed. I am guessing because qtcreator somehow cannot find the qt version i installed. This is the settings page: http://i.imgur.com/OgAKH7S.png what to do?

  • PyQt design issues

    I've been working on a my first real project using PyQt lately. I've done just a little bit of work in Qt for C++ but nothing more than just messing around. I've found that the Qt python bindings are essentially just a straight port of C++ classes into python, which makes sense. The issue is that this creates a lot of messy, unpythonic code. For example if you look at QAbstractItemModel, there's a lot of hoops you have to go through that forces you to hide the actual python. I was just wondering if there's any intention of writing a python implementation of Qt that isn't necessarily just a wrapper? Either by Nokia or anyone else? I really like Qt but I would love to be able to write more pythonic code. I hope this is OK to ask here. I'm not trying to start a GUI war or anything.

    hi, I am working on Windows xp and am trying to get a simple video player running. I am trying to use Phonon::VideoPlayer module for this. I am connecting the signal as connect(self.player,SIGNAL("finished()"),self.player.deleteLater) and then , when the Play button is pressed, it makes the following call: self.player.play(Phonon.MediaSource("C:\vid.mp4")) But, this doesn't display the video in the video player widget. Neither can I hear audio. Can anyone help?? I tried using different video file formats but no luck.

    I need to send keypresses from my application window to libvlc, how do i do that?     Hi, I am using QStackedWidget to switch between the views, I will be able to traverse between the views, I am facing problem in some scenario, where I do not require the widgets, I want to remove them completely.. QStackedWidget provides the functionality to remove widgets, still the ownership of the widget will be there, I mean widget will be hidden. I dont want this to be happen, when I call remove widget the widget should be deleted. how to handle this?
