  • Right-to-left script fails with Flash Player

    - by maria
I am continuing an abandoned thread arabic reading error, since it was not solved. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, Firefox 3.6.14. I've checked for Flash Player, I have the recent version installed. In the Flash Player window arabic script appears in wrong direction. The letters are displayed from left to right and not, as it should be, from right to left. For exemple http://www.fpnp.net/. The problematic place is the black bar in Flash window with a text below the image on the right. Here the letters are displayed in wrong direction and, by consequence, are not joined. You can see (I hope) the difference between that black bar and the rest of the text. Hope it will understandable for not Arabic-speaking people. Thanks

  • Reassign the Right button functionality of touchpad

    - by Guandalino
My notebook has a touchpad with two buttons. The touchpad works pretty well and I use it for vertical/horizontal scroll, two fingers scrolling etc. The Left button acts like the left button of a mouse. The Right button too, when clicked it makes appear the classic contextual menu (create new folder, move to trash etc...). The problem is that Right button doesn't work anymore for mechanical reasons, so pressing it has no effect. To recover the missing functionality, I'd like that pressing CTRL + Left button I get the same thing of pressing the Right button alone. Other combinations (CTRL + SHIFT + Left button) are also acceptable. Any way to do that?

  • Difference left/right super button

    - by Erik Keemink
When I press my left super key the gnome shell appears and when I press the right super key it does not. Moreover pressing right super + T does open a terminal at once, but when using left super I have to press the t twice, when I press the t only once it is similar to just pressing the t without holding super left. This last point also occurs with other shortcuts that I defined (like super+L, super+E), but not with super+up/down/left/right. What I want is to press either super key to get the gnome shell and to use either super key in combination with T to open a terminal immediately (and similar with other shortcuts). I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and the gnome 3 shell.

  • No lock screen when the right click menu is open

    - by Shivram
I just found that the lock screen on my laptop does not show up when the right click menu is open. I discovered this when I pressed the right click button accidentally while closing the lid and the laptop went to sleep, but the lock screen never showed up when I opened the lid again. I am also not able to lock the system manually(with ctrl+alt+L) when the right click menu is open. Is this by design or is it a bug? I would assume that the screen should be locked automatically when the computer goes to sleep, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone have any suggestions? My specs are: Dell Vostro 1500, Ubuntu 12.10

  • Up, down, right arrow keys and delete key not working

    - by user210780
I have already read Delete and arrow keys not working and tried what is written there. I have also tried restarting my computer. I have also searched elsewhere for answers, but I haven't found any solution. I am using Ubuntu 12.04, and there were not problems yesterday, but for the last hour, I've had the following problem. When I press the up or the right arrow, nothing happens. When I press the down arrow, it doesn't make anything go down, but something appears in the upper right corner of my screen: http://i.imgur.com/pmnFOCD.png When I press the delete key, nothing gets deleted, but something appears in the upper right corner of my screen: http://i.imgur.com/Wu9czel.png The left arrow still works. Can anybody help me get my three arrow keys and delete key back?

  • Rotate object Up/Down/Left/Right in any orientation

    - by George Duckett
I'm rendering model at the origin with a fixed camera looking at it positioned on the z axis. I want to be able to rotate the model up/down and left/right. Currently I have 2 variables, HorizontalRotation and VerticalRotation. When calculating the world matrix I rotate about the Y axis by HorizontalRotation and about the X axis by VerticalRotation. The ..Rotation variables are controlled by pressing up/down/left/right arrow keys. The problem I'm having is that the rotations are happening relative to the object. Lets say it's a model of the world. Pressing Up a bit would let me look at the north pole. Currently when i press right the earth spins infront of the camera on its axis; I'm still looking at the north pole. How can i get it so that no matter what rotations are currently applied i can always rotate my model relative to the camera/world axis?

  • Help With LINQ: Mixed Joins and Specifying Default Values

    - by Corey O.
I am trying to figure out how to do a mixed-join in LINQ with specific access to 2 LINQ objects. Here is an example of how the actual TSQL query might look: SELECT * FROM [User] AS [a] INNER JOIN [GroupUser] AS [b] ON [a].[UserID] = [b].[UserID] INNER JOIN [Group] AS [c] ON [b].[GroupID] = [c].[GroupID] LEFT JOIN [GroupEntries] AS [d] ON [a].[GroupID] = [d].[GroupID] WHERE [a].[UserID] = @UserID At the end, basically what I would like is an enumerable object full of GroupEntry objects. What am interested is the last two tables/objects in this query. I will be displaying Groups as a group header, and all of the Entries underneath their group heading. If there are no entries for a group, I still want to see that group as a header without any entries. Here's what I have so far: So from that I'd like to make a function: public void DisplayEntriesByUser(int user_id) { MyDataContext db = new MyDataContext(); IEnumberable<GroupEntries> entries = ( from user in db.Users where user.UserID == user_id join group_user in db.GroupUsers on user.UserID = group_user.UserID into a from join1 in a join group in db.Groups on join1.GroupID equals group.GroupID into b from join2 in b join entry in db.Entries.DefaultIfEmpty() on join2.GroupID equals entry.GroupID select entry ); Group last_group_id = 0; foreach(GroupEntry entry in entries) { if (last_group_id == 0 || entry.GroupID != last_group_id) { last_group_id = entry.GroupID; System.Console.WriteLine("---{0}---", entry.Group.GroupName.ToString().ToUpper()); } if (entry.EntryID) { System.Console.WriteLine(" {0}: {1}", entry.Title, entry.Text); } } } The example above does not work quite as expected. There are 2 problems that I have not been able to solve: I still seem to be getting an INNER JOIN instead of a LEFT JOIN on the last join. I am not getting any empty results, so groups without entries do not appear. I need to figure out a way so that I can fill in the default values for blank sets of entries. That is, if there is a group without an entry, I would like to have a mostly blank entry returned, except that I'd want the EntryID to be null or 0, the GroupID to be that of of the empty group that it represents, and I'd need a handle on the entry.Group object (i.e. it's parent, empty Group object). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Note: Table names and real-world representation were derived purely for this example, but their relations simplify what I'm trying to do.

  • How do I create a right click context menu in Java Swing?

    - by Wayne
I'm working on a school project and we want to implement a right click pop-up menu in the gui. Currently we are doing something like creating a JMenu on right click and setting its location to that of the mouse's position... This seems really ugly and is very buggy, is there any better way of doing this? I'm sure there must be.

  • Inner or Outer left Join

    - by user1557856
I'm having difficulty modifying a script for this situation and wondering if someone maybe able to help: I have an address table and a phone table both sharing the same column called id_number. So id_number = 2 on both tables refers to the same entity. Address and phone information used to be stored in one table (the address table) but it is now split into address and phone tables since we moved to Oracle 11g. There is a 3rd table called both_ids. This table also has an id_number column in addition to an other_ids column storing SSN and some other ids. Before the table was split into address and phone tables, I had this script: (Written in Sybase) INSERT INTO sometable_3 ( SELECT a.id_number, a.other_id, NVL(a1.addr_type_code,0) home_addr_type_code, NVL(a1.addr_status_code,0) home_addr_status_code, NVL(a1.addr_pref_ind,0) home_addr_pref_ind, NVL(a1.street1,0) home_street1, NVL(a1.street2,0) home_street2, NVL(a1.street3,0) home_street3, NVL(a1.city,0) home_city, NVL(a1.state_code,0) home_state_code, NVL(a1.zipcode,0) home_zipcode, NVL(a1.zip_suffix,0) home_zip_suffix, NVL(a1.telephone_status_code,0) home_phone_status, NVL(a1.area_code,0) home_area_code, NVL(a1.telephone_number,0) home_phone_number, NVL(a1.extension,0) home_phone_extension, NVL(a1.date_modified,'') home_date_modified FROM both_ids a, address a1 WHERE a.id_number = a1.id_number(+) AND a1.addr_type_code = 'H'); Now that we moved to Oracle 11g, the address and phone information are split. How can I modify the above script to generate the same result in Oracle 11g? Do I have to first do INNER JOIN between address and phone tables and then do a LEFT OUTER JOIN to both_ids? I tried the following and it did not work: Insert Into.. select ... FROM a1. address INNER JOIN t.Phone ON a1.id_number = t.id_number LEFT OUTER JOIN both_ids a ON a.id_number = a1.id_number WHERE a1.adrr_type_code = 'H'

  • float right image pushes down text in table below in IE9 [migrated]

    - by Cheers and hth. - Alf
    I'm not a webmaster, not even a web developer, but I'm tasked with adding content to a Wordpress site developed by Someone Else(TM). Here's a page illustrating the problem: http://www.reginedagan.no/program/fiskekonkurranse-i-hovden/. It shows up nice in Firefox: But in IE9 the floated picture pushed down the text in the table below, so that it looks rather awful: I found some related questions on the web, e.g. "CSS: Float right in IE doesn't work!" and "why does a floating DIV mess up table positioning?", and the suggestions there led me to set clear: none on the div around the table, the table itself, and then each individual tr and finally even on each individual td. I also set width="99%" on the table, and tried (but I don't know how correctly) to apply the IE6 quirk fix margin-right: -3px. So here's the content as written in Wordpress, including the unsuccessful attempted fixes: <h1><div style="float: right"><a href="http://www.reginedagan.no/?attachment_id=671"><img src="http://www.reginedagan.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-3-nedskalert.jpg" alt="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" title="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" width="200" height="242" class="size-full wp-image-671"/></a></div>Fiskekonkurranse i Hovden!</h1> <div style="background-color: #FAF0F0; clear: none;"><table width="99%" style="clear: none; right-margin: -3px;"> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Dato:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Lørdag 21.juli</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; padding-left: 2em"; clear: none;>/ barn, Flytebrygga</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">15.00 &ndash; 16.00</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; padding-left: 2em; clear: none;">/ voksne (over 12 år), Moloen</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">15.00 &ndash; 17.00 </td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Sted:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Hovden</td> </tr> <tr style=" clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Pris:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">voksen (over 12 år) kr. 50,-, barn kr. 30,-</td> </tr style=" clear: none;"> <tr> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Arrangør:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Hovden Grendelag</td> </tr> </table></div> Velkommen til den årlige Fiskekonkurransen i Hovden lørdag 21. juli! <a href="http://www.reginedagan.no/program/fiskekonkurranse-i-hovden/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-nedskalertjpg/" rel="attachment wp-att-672"><img src="http://www.reginedagan.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-nedskalertjpg.jpg" alt="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" title="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" width="400" height="267" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-672" /></a>Det blir stangfiske fra moloen og egen barnekonkurranse fra flytebrygga. Musikk: «Mister West», Steinar Aarsnes, Andøya. CC. Salg av øl/vin og snacks. </div> VEL MØTT &mdash; SKITT FISKE! And the resulting HTML served to a browser (only the relevant first part): <div style="float: right;"><a href="http://www.reginedagan.no/?attachment_id=671"><img src="http://www.reginedagan.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/fiskekonkurranse-2011-bilde-3-nedskalert.jpg" alt="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" title="Fra fiskekonkurransen i 2011" class="size-full wp-image-671" height="242" width="200"></a></div> <p>Fiskekonkurranse i Hovden!</p></h1> <div style="background-color: rgb(250, 240, 240); clear: none;"> <table style="clear: none;" width="99%"> <tbody><tr style="clear: none;"> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Dato:</td> <td style="text-align: left; clear: none;">Lørdag 21.juli</td> </tr> The able to reproduce the effect with simpler code by setting clear: right on the table. However, I'm unable to reproduce the effect with default styling or with clear: none (as above). So it seems maybe it's something Wordpress does, or maybe it's something the theme thing or whatever it is does – but it's very similar to what others have observed, so there is strong indication that it's also a quirk in IE. Help?

  • "Aero snap"-animation not working correctly on the right side of the screen [closed]

    - by Niklas
When using the "aero snap"-feature on the right side of screen the animation doesn't fill up the complete screen height, Only if the mouse pointer is at the very top of the right side of screen. Otherwise the animation box moves vertically as the mouse is moved along the edge of the screen, this does not happen on the other sides of the screen. I thought about submitting a bug but the bug program advised me to ask here first.

  • Ugly right-click menu and menubar in some applications

    - by halflings
After installing some packages (unfortunately I can't remember which ones) and installing some GTK3 themes (Faience / Faenza), my terminal's menubar and the right-click menu (in some contexts) started to look very ugly ! 1: Right-click menu 2: Terminal menubar, notice the white rounded corner rectangles, it looks WAY uglier on other themes Note that the menubar isn't "ugly" in most contexts, but it still is on the desktops and some applications. (For the menubar, I think the terminal is the only one concerned by this) I tried going back to my original theme, it didn't fix the problem.

I tried changing it using Ubuntu Tweak, but with no effect. Other suggestion I found was to change it using gconf-editor and changing apps - metacity - general click button_layout but there is no metacity in the apps section.

  • OptimisticLockException in inner transaction ruins outer transaction

    - by Pace
I have the following code (OLE = OptimisticLockException)... public void outer() { try { middle() } catch (OLE) { updateEntities(); outer(); } } @Transactional public void middle() { try { inner() } catch (OLE) { updateEntities(); middle(); } @Transactional public void inner() { //Do DB operation } inner() is called by other non-transactional methods which is why both middle() and inner() are transactional. As you can see, I deal with OLEs by updating the entities and retrying the operation. The problem I'm having is that when I designed things this way I was assuming that the only time one could get an OLE was when a transaction closed. This is apparently not the case as the call to inner() is throwing an OLE even when the stack is outer()->middle()->inner(). Now, middle() is properly handling the OLE and the retry succeeds but when it comes time to close the transaction it has been marked rollbackOnly by Spring. When the middle() method call finally returns the closing aspect throws an exception because it can't commit a transaction marked rollbackOnly. I'm uncertain what to do here. I can't clear the rollbackOnly state. I don't want to force create a transaction on every call to inner because that kills my performance. Am I missing something or can anyone see a way I can structure this differently? EDIT: To clarify what I'm asking, let me explain my main question. Is it possible to catch and handle OLE if you are inside of an @Transactional method? FYI: The transaction manager is a JpaTransactionManager and the JPA provider is Hibernate.

Hi In SQL Server 2008: I have one table, and I want to do something along the following lines: SELECT T1.stuff, T2.morestuff from ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T1 INNER JOIN ( SELECT code, date1, date2 from Table ) as T2 ON T1.code = T2.code and T1.date1 = T2.date2 The two subqueries are exactly identical. Is there any way I can do this without repeating the subquery script? Thanks Karl

  • Why does this Grails/HQL query with a JOIN return Lists of pairs of domain classes?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to do a "join" in Groovy/Grails and the return values I get person = User.get(user.id) def latestPhotosForUser = PhotoOwner.findAll("FROM PhotoOwner AS a, PhotoStorage AS b WHERE (a.owner=:person AND a.photo = b)", [person:person], [max:3]) latestPhotosForUser isn't a list of PhotoOwners. It's a list of [PhotoOwner, PhotoStorage] pairs. Since I'm doing a PhotoOwner.findAll, I would have expected to see only PhotoOwners. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the proper behavior?
