I've followed the instructions and installed and configured the Windows Virtual PC XP Mode. I've added it as a machine on the network and can log into it and use network resources.
In the process I removed the saved credentials, which are just a default local login to the VM.
I need to know how to set this so that the VM auto logs in with the domain account credentials used to log into the physical computer.
Google hasn't helped me find the answer.

How can I boot Windows XP Embedded from SD?
SD is connected directly to Intel US15W SCH (SDIO).
BIOS supports boot from SD (Linux boots successfully).
Thank you in advance,

I have Remote Assistance working but not Remote Desktop.
XP Firewall has exceptions for both Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop. Remote Desktop is allowed in System Properties - Remote.
What could be the problem?
In Windows 7 I get the following checkbox option in Remote Desktop options:
Is there any way to update my Remote Desktop / Terminal Services on my XP (SP3) machine to the same version so I can have multi-monitor support there too?
I recently asked a question on here, and thought I had it working... Here is a link to it.
Windows XP Installation problems
So basically I'm having trouble getting XP installed. To sum it up, a computer I have had a boot sector virus, and I used Darik's Nuke and Boot to wipe the hard drive clean.
So the hard drive has nothing on it. I had to try and install Windows through a DOS prompt, because for some reason it won't read it off the DVD. The UBCD is able to look at the files located on the DVD I have in, but I can't boot from it for some reason. So I extracted it to a USB drive, booted to DOS and started the setup process.
Here's the weird thing with DOS... It can only find the C: drive. The C: drive in DOS is the flash drive that I have in, running DOS. I can't find the hard drive anywhere!
So anyways, after starting the setup process, it copied the files over to the "hard drive" (which took 16 hours because the version of DOS I ran couldn't run smartdrv.exe), and it said the computer had to reboot. So I let it reboot, and it stopped and said there is no boot device. So I popped in UBCD that I have installed on a flash drive, and I discovered that it had copied the Windows files over to the flash drive and not the hard drive. It never asked where it should extract the files...
So I toyed around with UBCD, ran a memory test on the hard drive to make sure it was fine, and it came out clean.
So I'm stuck now. How can I get this installed?
Writing this, I came up with an idea. If I copy the DOS startup files over to the hard drive, would I be able to start DOS from it? If so, I believe that could fix my problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated, because I am running out of ideas and am at my wits end with this computer.
My entire monitor flashes black for a second or so when starting any video file. It does the same thing when closing the file. It also does this when opening a folder that has video files and a thumbnail view, or when I do anything that presumably accesses the video stream inside a video file.
It happens in VLC and Windows Media Player, though it occurs to me certain video editors I have like avidemux and virtualdub don't have that issue when opening video files... It also does not happen when watching flash-based videos on web sites.
It doesn't seem to happen when Quicktime.
I went through and uninstalled any extraneous programs a week or so ago and didn't see any change.
I also updated the graphics card driver.
What can I do to troubleshoot/fix this?
Is there any sane explanation for a client's Acer Aspire 1 netbook, running XP Home SP 2, suddenly starting to ask for a login password at boot? He has a strict policy of not using passwords, and I removed his login password weeks ago. The story is that suddenly this morning, for the first time, it is asking for a login password.

I am working with a Windows XP laptop that whenever it is shutdown will display a warning that the "MediaContextNotificationWindow" is attempting to close, eventually requiring you to force it to close. It does not appear to matter if the laptop is on or off the network, it will still display the message. I have done a little research into the MediaContextNotificationWindow, and it seems like it is either a part of the Windows Media Player or .Net 3.5, though I'm not entirely sure.
Has anyone come across this error and know how to resolve it?
Is there a way either built-in (don't think there is) or via a third-party to specify the volume on a per application basis in Windows XP? For example, right now I am listening to some music on fairly loudly and I would like all of the alerts I am getting from other apps (email, twitter updates, IMs) to be reduced.
Is there a command to power down the display in Windows XP? That is, a command that causes the video card to stop sending a signal to the monitor until input is received, much as power management does after a time.
My Windows XP taskbar is stuck on "always on top of other windows". It's always visible, even when a full-screen app is running. I've gone into the properties of the taskbar and un-checked the box for "Keep the taskbard on top of other windows" but it makes no difference. checked or un-checked, it's always on top of other windows. Any ideas?
Hi all,
Under taskbar properties in Windows XP SP3, there is an option to customize the notification area. However, when I'm trying to customize the past items, I see that there are nearly 100 different items, the majority of them are programs which have been uninstalled ages ago.
How can I eliminate all the past items that are not installed on my computer and keep the ones that are installed on my computer?
Screenie: (there are nearly 100 items, mostly nonrelevant, in the Past Items section)
I have a problem whereby a terminal appears not to be logging events correctly and occasionally appears to have problems communicating accross the network. The terminal has previously been infected with a virus which apears to have 'played' with the default group policy in the standard user profile. Although, outwardly, the terminal appears to be working normally I still have a nagging feeling that it isn't quite back to the way it was. It was infected by a user plugging in a USB Stick while the company was using the older version of the AV software...typically a week or so before it was updated.I have configured the Event logs to Overwrite as required and to be 5056KB in Maximum size. I have also attempted:-
Disabling the Event Log service & restarting
Renewing the EVT files in Windows\system32\config directory
Restarting the event log service and restarting
Clearing the event log in the Services MMC
Resetting the Filters to Default in the services MMC
Using the EVENTCREATE command remotely from a CMD window on the server to force an event creation event.
So far the only operation to have any sort of success is the remote computer EVENTCREATE command from a CMD window on the server. As it stands, the only other time that the computer has managed to create events is while it is being restarted.Has anyone gotany ideas on how to proceed? I'm thinking that possibly a refresh of the 'Windows\system32\config\SystemProfile' folder. I'm also thinking about running a tool such as Malwarebytes but this could be slightly controvertial as the system needs to be running on 'up-time' for as long as possible. I'm also wonderign whether anyone knows of any Windows admin tools that allow me to control the event logging options or default security options so that i could get it back to some sort of standard. What I'm trying to avoid is a complte re-imaging of the terminal. Although this is an option, I dont really want to have to take it if i dont need to.Many thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone may be able to provide.
