jQuery Accordion + Anchor Tag 'stuck as block' bug?

Each accordion panel has an UL (an OL works the same) with this markup: <ol> <li><a href="">Lorep ipsum dolor lorem ipsum dolor lorem ipsum dolor</a>?</li> <li><a href="">Lorep ipsum dolor lorem ipsum dolor lorem ipsum dolor</a>?</li> </ol> In IE6, you'll see that the <a> tag appears to be getting rendered as a block element, so the question mark ends up being pushed outside and not at the end of the line of text. In addition, the bullet and/or list item number is now bottom-aligned with the text rather than top-aligned. I've narrowed it down to the javascript that executes to make the accordion. It's not an issue with jQuery's CSS as disabling that, alone, doesn't resolve the issue. Anyone know what might be going on in IE6 to cause this rendering issue? UPDATE: Apparently, this is also an IE7 issue. UPDATE 2: After some more playing, I've narrowed things down a bit more: the bug has nothing to do with lists. The issue is any anchor tag within a jQuery Accordion will appear as display: block (even though it appears that the CSS still indicates display: inline) the bug has nothing to do with the actual CSS that jQuery UI uses to create the accordion. I created a test page that uses the fully rendered jQuery Accordion post-processed source code and the accompanying CSS. In that situation, the anchor tags remain inline. In conclusion: It appears that the process of rendering the accordion via javascript is messing up the display of the anchor tags. It may be a show/hide issue?

What is the equivalent to Master Views from ASP.NET in PHP?

I'm used to working in ASP.NET / ASP.NET MVC and now for class I have to make a PHP website. What is the equivalent to Master Views from ASP.NET in the PHP world? Ideally I would like to be able to define a page layout with something like: Master.php <html> <head> <title>My WebSite</title> <?php headcontent?> </head> <body> <?php bodycontent?> </body> </html> and then have my other PHP pages inherit from Master, so I can insert into those predefined places. Is this possible in PHP? Right now I have the top half of my page defined as "Header.html" and the bottom half is "footer.html" and I include_once both of them on each page I create. However, this isn't ideal for when I want to be able to insert into multiple places on my master page such as being able to insert content into the head. Can someone skilled in PHP point me in the right direction?

Pygame Sprite/Font rendering issues

Hey guys. Here's my problem: I have a game class that maintains a HUD overlay that has a bunch of elements, including header and footer background sprites. Everything was working fine until I added a 1024x128 footer sprite. Now two of my text labels will not render, despite the fact that they DO exist in my Group and self.elements array. Is there something I'm missing? When I take out the footerHUDImage line, all of the labels render correctly and everything works fine. When I add the footerHUDImage, two of the labels (the first two) no longer render and the third only sometimes renders. HELP PLEASE! live.com setting can't be changed

I'm on mail.live.com where, in the upper left corner it says "Windows Live™" and to the right of that it says "Hotmail([number])" "Messenger" "SkyDrive" "|" "MSN." Directly under the "Windows Live™," there is a square, bluish/gray avatar (with a generic, rotund peop with a head and trunk and arms). To the right of that there is a field (with a subtle, barely perceptible speech bubble-like arrow emanating from the avatar). But there's a word inside that field that I cannot get rid of. Coincidentally I think it's the same word I used as a search term a while back, having meant to put the search term in the "Search email and more" bing field on the other side of the screen. (Even that would have been by mistake because I had been aiming for the e-mail search field.) But it remains in the field connected to the avatar--and moreover the field is editable to the limited extent that a cursor can be placed into the field with a mouse click; the word just can't be deleted. I don't know if the avatar should be there either, but I'd rather have just simply that than the word next to it continuously there for time immemorial. If I click into the field hoping to delete the word, I'm confronted with options along the bottom of the same field (now expanded by my mouse click): "Add: Photo Link Document," and a button that says "Share" and an [X] to reduce the field back to its default state--which still contains the word I'm trying to delete.

Fill parent container

After several hours of design battle I come to you for a hand. I am building a website for a night club as you can see. I can't get stretch the centered area (bordered by yellow color) to the bottom of the page where the footer start (the footer is the green top-bordered div). This happends because the content is not enought to fill the rest of heigh. OpenGLES - Rendering a background image only once and not wiping it

Hello, first time asking a question here but been watching others answers for a while. My own question is one for improving the performance of my program. Currently I'm wiping the viewFrameBuffer on each pass through my program and then rendering the background image first followed by the rest of my scene. I was wondering how I go about rendering the background image once, and only wiping the rest of the scene for updating/re-rendering. I tried using a seperate buffer but I'm not sure how to present this new buffer to the render buffer. // Set the current EAGLContext and bind to the framebuffer. OpenGL ES - how to keep some object at a fixed size?

I'm working on a little game in OpenGL ES. In the background, there is a world/map. The map is just a large texture. Zoom/pinch/pan is used to move around. And I'm using glOrthof (left, right, bottom, top, zNear, zFar) to implement the zoom/pinch. When I zoom in, the sprites on top of the map is also zoomed in. But I would like to have some sprites stay at a fixed size. I could probably calculate a scale factor, depending on the parameters to glOrthof, but there must be a more natural and straightforward way of doing that, instead of scaling the sprites down when I zoom in. If I add some text or some GUI elements on top of the map, they should definately have a fixed size. Is there a solution to do this, or do I have to leave fixed values in glOrthof and implement zoom/pinch in another way? EDIT: To be more clear: I want sprites that zoom in/out along with the map, but stay at the same size. I have some elements that are like the pins on the iPhone's map application. When you zoom, the pins stay the same size, but move around on the screen to stay on the same spot on the map. That is mainly what I want a solution for. Solutions for this already came below, thanks!

Refresh table after using jQuery .append()

The following code gets a JSON object and then spits its contents out into a <table>. The first time I do it I get my JSON content just fine. However, when I refresh, the refreshed data is stuck onto the bottom of my table. How do I refresh the data to show the new data only? Appropriate Footwear for An Interview

There's a raging debate going on at my house about appropriate footwear for an IT interview. I have an interview, on Thursday, for a SQL/C# developer with the Fraud dept. at a large accounting firm. I was planning on wearing what I have pretty much always worn for an interview: a nice suit, white shirt, subdued tie, and a pair of dress cowboy boots. My spouse and daughter both know that my dress code for nearly every professional job I've ever gotten, is pretty much the same -- including the boots -- with what I just described. Now, however, because I've been out of work for an unfortunately long time (my last contract ended 03/09 -- pretty much coincidental with the bottom falling out of the economy). My wife insists that style standards are fundamentally different on the left side of the Mississippi vs. the right side of the river. My view is that I've always worn "cowboy" boots; since I was old enough to fit into a real pair. I moved East, as an adult, over 30 years ago, but my dress patterns haven't changed. And in all that time, my dress patterns have never changed. Now I both really want, and really need, this job. But, is that sufficient reason to change a habit 40 years in the making? I would really appreciate the thoughts ya'all (little West of Ms. colloquialism, there) might have on this matter. Thanks. P.S. If this sort of question is inappropriate for this form, I apologize.

I have a working solution, but the code to do it is way too complicated and circular I think: I have a timesheet application in MVC 2. I sense there must be a much easier way to achieve what I want. Basically you can tell from the View what I want to achieve: I want to get a collection of projects. Each project should have it's associated collection of tasks. And each task should have it's associated collection of timesegments for the specified date period. Note that the projects and tasks selected must also only be the projects and tasks that have the timesegments for this period. I don't want all projects and tasks that have no timesegments within this period. It seems the group by Linq query beginning the GetProjects() method sort of achieves this (if extended to have the conditions for date and so on), but I can't return this and pass it to the view, because it is an anonymous object. I also tried creating a specific type in such a query, but couldn't wrap my head around that either... I hope there is something I'm missing and there is some easier way to achieve this, because I need to be able to do several other different queries as well eventually. I also don't really like the way I solved it with the "CurrentTimeSegments" properties and so on. These properties don't really exist on the model objects in the first place, I added them in partial classes to have somewhere to put the filtered results for each part of the nested object chain... Any ideas?

Problems migrating databinding in VB.NET from Winforms to ASP.NET 2.0

And this was supposed to be so easy... I have existing business and data access layers that handle the retrieval and update of the data in question. These work great with the existing Winforms application (.Net V2.0) Now, in trying to write a new web-based UI, I'm running into all sorts of problems (last time I wrote asp.net code was in 1.1). Specifically, I can't data bind a text box to a business object. Oh, sure there's the ObjectDataSource but that wants to know how to do CRUD operations on the data. What I'm looking for is something that acts like the 'classic' binding objects so that, in my code, it's as simple as retrieving the object and doing a a refresh. The data component like FormView and DetailsView are so generic-looking that it's ridiculous. The existing application would have tabbed dialogs, text boxes grouped by panels, etc. On top of that, I have a directive to use master pages and unless one control causes it, I can't seem to get the content section to expand. I can't just put a text box 'below' the bottom of "Content1" and have it resize the content section - which gives me the same results as an earlier question I posted when the footer wasn't being 'pushed down' - relative position solved that but doesn't seem to solve it with placing small text boxes in the area. What I want is fairly simple. Something like: bindingobject.datasource = businessdataobject bindingobject.refresh ...and have the text boxes refresh with the new values. Likewise to have 'businessdataobject' properties updated as the user enters new data. I was able to do this with the GridView (grdRequests.DataSource = lstRequests) by making a list of asp:BoundField tags inside the collection of the GridView. Am I tilting at windmills here?

TEXTAREAs scroll by themselves (on IE8) every time you type one character

IE8 has a known bug (per connect.microsoft.com) where typing or pasting text into a TEXTAREA element will cause the textarea to scroll by itself. This is hugely annoying and shows up in many community sites, including Wikipedia. The repro is this: open the HTML below with IE8 (or use any long page on wikipedia which will exhibit the same problem until they fix it) size the browser full-screen paste a few pages of text into the TEXTAREA move the scrollbar to the middle position now type one character into the textarea Expected: nothing happens Actual: scrossing happens on its own, and the insertion point ends up near the bottom of the textarea! jquery animate from object center

Hi. I am trying to create a product viewer similar to the one at the bottom of this page http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/. As you can see the product animates from the center rather than top left which I think is Jquery's default. So what I am doing is trying animate the width and height and then also the offset to make it look like it animates from the center. Adding an unknown number of JComponents to a JPanel

Good day, I am building an Applet (JApplet to be exact) and I sub divided that into two panels. The top panel is called DisplayPanel which is a custom class that extends JPanel. The bottom panel is called InputPanel which also extends JPanel. As mentioned above, I can add those two Panel's to the applet and they display fine. The next thing that I would like to do is have the InputPanel be able to hold a random number of JComponent Objects all listed veritcally. This means that the InputPanel should be able to have JButtons, JLabels, JTextFields etc thrown at it. I then want the InputPanel to display some sort of scrolling capability. The catch is that since these two panels are already inside my applet, I need the InputPanel to stay the same size as it was given when added to the Applet. So for example, if my applet (from the web-browser html code) was given the size 700,700, and then the DisplayPanel was 700 by 350, and the InputPanel was below it with the same dimensions, I want to then be able to add lots of JComponents like buttons, to the InputPanel and the panel would stay 700 x 350 in the same position that it is at, only the panel would have scroll bars if needed. I've played with many different combinations of JScrollPane, but just cannot get it. Thank you.

Vehicle License Plate Detection

Hey all Basically for my final project at university, I'm developing a vehicle license plate detection application. Now I consider myself an intermediate programmer, however my mathematics knowledge lacks anything above secondary school, therefore producing detection formulae is basically impossible. Due to this testing various graphic images proved productive, for example: to However this approach is only catered to that particular image, and if the techniques were applied to different images, I'm sure a different, most likely poorer conversion would occur. I've read about a formula called the bottom hat morphology transform, which according to the first does the following: "Basically, the trans- formation keeps all the dark details of the picture, and eliminates everything else (including bigger dark regions and light regions)." Sadly I can't find much information on this, however the image within the documentation near the end of the report shows it's effectiveness. I'm aware this is complicated and vast, I'd just appreciate a little advice, even in terms of what transformation techniques I should focus on developing, or algorithm regarding edge detection or pixel detection. little java help....

Hi I am doing some practice problems and trying to print a diagonal line like the example below. I have writen the program you see below and I honestly dont understand what I am doing wrong. I m a java beginner and I cant see how to find the error. AJAX AutoCompletExtender doesn't allow to move ahead of first item with arrow-key

Hi, I am using an AJAX AutoCompleteExtender to display a list of suburbs-postcodes after the user presses 3 keys in the given textbox. The problem is that on the page, I can't move my selection below the first item (with down arrow key/mouse). Making a table in a scrolling div resizable?

I've got a table in a div, with a vertical scrollbar on the div to allow the table to be longer than the div can hold. Works fine. But I'd like to allow the user to resize the div vertically if they want to be able to view more of the table. I've been playing with the jQueryUI resizable interaction, but it doesn't seem to quite do what I want; at least, not so far. I've tried making the wrapper div resizable, but the behavior's erratic. If I have the style "height:20em; overflow:auto;" on it, then I can resize the table horizontally, but not vertically. If I remove the overflow, then the table flows outside the div of course. If I remove the height, then the table is actually resizable, but it is initially drawn at full height. Anyone know of a way to specify an initial height, but allow it to be resized larger than that? If I make the table resizable rather than the div, then I can resize the table horizontally within the div but I can't increase the height of the displayed table. Which makes sense, of course, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, is there a way to make the resize "handle" the corner between the horizontal and vertical scrollbars? Right now it's a sort of invisible handle in the bottom-right of the table. Thanks for any thoughts.

Add xml-stylesheet and get standalone = yes.

The code at the bottom is what I have. I removed the creation of all tags. At the top in the xml file I get.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> Note that standalone is no, even thou I have it set to yes. The first question: How do I get standalone = yes? I would like to add <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="my.stylesheet.xsl"?> at line two in the xml file. Second question: How do I do that? Some useful links? Anything? How to implement a download for dynamic files in asp.net with masterpages

Hello, the title says it all. I have seen some similar questions on SO like this or this, but either i have overlooked something or my requirement is different, neither works. My situation is following: i have a Masterpage one of its contentpage is called MasterData.aspx MasterData has an asp.net ajax tabcontainer control with one usercontrol in every tabpanel these usercontrols(f.e. MD_Customer.ascx)hold the main content(like a normal page) they all have GridViews in it and i want to provide an Excel-Export-Button What i've tried is is to use an iframe like here. But the function that adds the iframe to the document gets never called and therefore i never see the save-as-dialog. Maybe this is caused by using a MasterPage. Does somebody has an idea on how to provide a button in an UpdatePanel that causes an async postback, so that i can generate a CSV dynamically in codebehind and write it to the response? Dynamic/Generic ViewModelBase?

I am learning MVVM now and I understand few things (more than but few are here..): Does every model potentially exposed (thru a VM) to the View is having a VM? For example, if I have a Contact and Address entity and each contact has an Addresses (many) property, does it mean I have to create a ContactViewModel and an AddressViewModel etc.? Do I have to redeclare all the properties of the Model again in the ViewModel (i.e. FirstName, LastName blah blah)? why not have a ViewModelBase and the ContactViewMode will be a subclass of ViewModelBase accessing the Entity's properties itself? and if this is a bad idea that the View has access to the entity (please explain why), then why not have the ViewModelBase be a DynamicObject (view the Dictionary example @ the link page), so I don't have to redeclare all the properties and validation over and over in the two tiers (M & VM) - because really, the View is anyway accessing the ViewModel's fields via reflection anyway. I think MVVM was the hardest technology I've ever learned. it doesn't have out-the-box support and there are to many frameworks and methods to achieve it, and in the other hand there is no arranged way to learn it (as MVC for instance), learning MVVM means browsing and surfing around trying to figure out what's better. Bottom line, what I mean by this section is please go and vote to MSFT to add MVVM support in the BCL and generators for VMs and Vs according to the Ms. Thanks

Zend Routes conflict

I have defined 2 custom routes. One for threads/:id/:name and the other for threads/tags/:tagName however the second one conflicts with the first because if I enable both then the first breaks and treats :id literally as an action, not obeying the \d+ requirement ( I also tried using pure regex routes, see bottom ). Action "1" does not exist and was not trapped in __call() I tried re-arranging the order of the routes but if I do that then the threads/tags/:tagName doesnt correctly capture the tagName. I also tried disabling default routes but the routes still don't properly work after that. How do I get my Flash CS4 buttons to direct the user to another URL?

My apologies if this has been fully addressed before, but I've read through several other threads and still can't seem to get my file to work. My actionscript code is at the bottom of this message.
