    - by PabloG
    I'm working on a an PythonCE application, using the PocketPyGUI toolkit. I'm using the gui.Table control to display a large list of choices (addresses, codes and data associated), and I want to assign a different color to the rows that have been completed. • What is the right way to structure HTML and CSS?

    - by Meke
    So, I'm a script monkey at the core. Lately I seem to get stuffed into doing design too for some odd reason and, well, let's just say I should probably have studied better. Either way - What I ask is, what's the Right way to structure a website? This one has a header with links, then a block with tabs, right under another block which consists of two parts and under those a few others who I'm not at yet. However, the thing is, I need to make a block that consists of two parts that are in the same box but structured independently. I'll try to draw it up. Browser window..................-[]X ------------------------------------ |.................Header Links Here| ||Tab|Tab|Tab|_____________........| ||Tab content.............|Small...| ||........................|Section.| ||---Line signing new section------| ||........................|Another.| ||..Content Area..........|Small...| ||........................|Section.| ------------------------------------ My issue is in the division of small sections and tab/content areas. I tried using floats, making them as tables, aligning and whatnot. The putting float:left on both tables worked. Kinda. Until I tried to resize the window. So, how do you PROPERLY structure a site like this? three divs and tables? Something else? I'll clarify this again: It's the Code to use to create the look above that I'm trying to figure out the proper way to do, not the design As requested here's the current structure I have <div class="container"> <div class="topBlock"> //Header Links Here </div> <div class="inputBlock"> <ul id="tabs"> <li><a href="#strict">Strict</a></li> <li><a href="#flex">Flex</a></li> <li><a href="#multiStep">Multi-Step</a></li> </ul> <div id="strict" class="tabContent"> <table class="tableLeft"> <tr> <td>From</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input id="inputBlockFrom" type="text" placeholder="FROM"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td>To</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input id="inputBlockTo" type="text" placeholder="TO"/></td> </tr> </table> <table class="tableRight"> <tr> <td>Leave</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input id="inputBlockLeave" type="text" name="leave" placeholder="LEAVE"/></td> <td><input id="inputBlockOne" type="radio" name="one"/></td> <td>One</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Return</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input id="inputBlockReturn" type="text" name="return" placeholder="RETURN"/></td> <td><input id="inputBlockBut" type="radio" name="one" checked/></td> <td>Return</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input id="inputBlockSubmit" type="submit" value="Search"/></td> </tr> </table> </div> <div id="flex" class="tabContent"> Test Two </div> <div id="multiStep" class="tabContent"> Test Three </div> </div> <div class="mapBlock tabContent"> <table class="tableLeft"> <tr><td> <div id="map" class="google_map"></div> </td></tr> </table> <table class="tableRight smallTable"> <tr> <td>Distance</td> </tr> <tr> <td>[-------------|------------]</td> //Slider to be </tr> </table> <table class="tableRight smallTable"> <tr> <td>Choice / Choice</td> </tr> </table> <table class="tableRight"> <tr> <td>Show:</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="radio"/></td> <td>Price</td> <td><input type="radio"/></td> <td>Button!</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="radio"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="radio"/></td> </tr> </table> </div> </div> </body> Sorry if it's messed up in the whitespacing somewhere.. The CSS: body { font-size: 80%; font-family: 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif; background-color: #e2edff; } .container { margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px; padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px; } .pageBlock { /* To future me: This class is for One Full Screen ideas */ min-height: 300px; } .topBlock { text-align: right; color: #000000; } .topBlock a { text-decoration: none; color: #000000; } .tableLeft { width: 75%; float: left; border-right: dotted 2px black; } .tableRight { float: left; overflow: auto; } .smallTable { border-bottom: 1px dotted #c9c3ba; } .google_map { height: 270px; width: 100%; }

  • How can I get jquery to toggle-fade a flashcard div open and closed on click?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    What do I have to change to the code below in order for the user to click on a flashcard header to open and close the flashcard answer? I couldn't get toggle() to work with fadein/fadeout the version below doesn't respond to the click code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load("jquery", "1.4.1"); google.setOnLoadCallback(function() { $("div > div.question").click(function() { if($(this).next().is(":hidden") { $(this).next().fadeIn("slow"); } else { $(this).next().fadeOut("slow"); } }); }); </script> <style> div.flashcard { margin: 0 10px 10px 0; } div.flashcard div.question { background-color:#ddd; width: 400px; padding: 5px; cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; } div.flashcard div.answer { background-color:#eee; width: 400px; padding: 5px; display: none; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="1" class="flashcard"> <div class="question">Who was Wagner?</div> <div class="answer">German composer, conductor, theatre director and essayist, primarily known for his operas (or "music dramas", as they were later called).   • How to recreate the UITabBarItem image filter?

    - by boliva
    Hi, I'm writing a custom UITabBar replacement, and I would like to know how to recreate the filter that the built-in implementation does with the UITabBarItem image - that blue shining on selected tabs and gray gradient on unselected ones. I guess it's a matter of using the source image alpha value as a mask and overlay it with a pre-made blue (or whatever color) shining image and another one grayed out, but I would like to know what is the best approach from a code point of view. Best,

  • Clamping a vector to a minimum and maximum?

    - by user146780
    I came accross this: t = Clamp(t/d, 0, 1) but I'm not sure how to perform this operation on a vector. What are the steps to clamp a vector if one was writing their own vector implementation? Thanks clamp clamping a vector to a minimum and a maximum ex: pc = # the point you are coloring now p0 = # start point p1 = # end point v = p1 - p0 d = Length(v) v = Normalize(v) # or Scale(v, 1/d) v0 = pc - p0 t = Dot(v0, v) t = Clamp(t/d, 0, 1) color = (start_color * t) + (end_color * (1 - t))

  • Temporary Onmouseover

    - by 2x2p1p
    Hi guys :) Css "over" selector applys a temporary style to an element, it isn't definitive: div:hover { background-color: red; } I can use the same thing with javascript but it is a bit complicate and impossible for several elements: var elem = document.getElementByTagName ("div")[0]; elem.onmouseover = function () { this.style.backgroundColor = "red"; } elem.onmouseout = function () { this.style.backgroundColor = "transparent"; } There is a better way ? Something like this: document.getElementByTagName ("div")[0].ontemporarymouseover = function () { // LoL this.style.backgroundColor = "red"; } Thanks

  • JQuery removed background from iframe

    - by Webnet
    I'm trying to remove the background image on a page that's being loaded via an iframe within a lightbox effect. I have verified that body is the correct element within the iframe that's being selected, but I can't get the background image to go away. Am I missing something obvious? var body = jQuery('#fancybox-frame').contents().find('body'); body.css({ 'background': '', 'background-image': '', 'background-color': '#fff' });

  • AS3 Flex masks with black background from png bitmap

    - by airlocker
    Hi all What I am trying to achieve might be trivial, however I am loading a PNG mask which does not have a transparent background, but rather a black background, with the shape defined on top in white (the actual mask which needs to be applied). Apparently Flex expects me to provide a mask with a transparent background for it to work, or am I missing something? If that's the case, could I transform the bitmapData which I am loading so that it treats black color as transparent? thanks in advance.

    - by dmr
    I am attempting to have a link show up in white, without an underline. The text color shows up correctly as white, but the blue underline is stubbornly persisting. • Determining line orientation using vertex shaders

    - by Brett
    Hi, I want to be able to calculate the direction of a line to eye coordinates and store this value for every pixel on the line using a vertex and fragment shader. My idea was to calculate the direction gradient using atan2(Gy/Gx) after a modelview tranformation for each pair of vertices then quantize this value as a color intensity to pass to a fragment shader. How can I get access to the positions of pairs of vertices to achieve this or is there another method I should use? Thanks

  • How to draw on JPanel on fixed position?

    - by kovike
    I have JPanel wrapped in JScrollPane and I want the rectangle to be drawn always on the same position = moving with scrollbars wont affect the visibility of the rectangle. I tried following code: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { g.setColor(Color.red); g.drawRect(50, (int)getVisibleRect().getY(), 20 , 20); } but it only repaints the rectangle when size of whole JPanel is changed.
