    Hi, I am looking for a way to get a twitter users userid via their username. For example take http://twitter.com/AlySSa_miLAno (yes I know her twitter page off by heart lol) on the right hand side of the page is a link to her RSS feed: feed://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/26642006.rss In this context Alyssa's userid would be 26642006. Ideally I would like to avoid reading the full content of the page, as this could be quite expensive on a mobile device, so if anyone knows how to accomplish this using any Twitter/3rd party webservices that would be great.

    It seems that lazy loading is enabled by default in EF4. At least, in my project, I can see that the value of dataContext.ContextOptions.LazyLoadingEnabled is true by default. I don't want lazy loading and I don't want to have to write: dataContext.ContextOptions.LazyLoadingEnabled = false; each time I get a new context. So is there a way to turn it off by default, say, across the whole project?

  • Adding UIView animation mysteriously changes starting frame

    I'm working on an app that shows a thumbnail of a photo taken by the user. In order to show a seemless transition from the full-screen image shown in the UIImagePickerController to the thumbnail, I set the frame on my copy of the image to [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds] and then change the frame to match the frame of an invisible button. (The button allows users to re-take their photo by tapping the thumbnail image.) The trouble is that the starting x-origin of my UIImageView (imageView) is mysteriously starting nearly offscreen to the left: As you can see from the alert, the imageView purports to be located at (0,0), yet it's displaying at something like (-255,0). Update — Other weirdness worth mentioning in case it's relevant: It turns out the offset changes depending on the orientation of the camera when the photo was taken. If I take the picture with the phone upside-down, for instance, then the image gets offset vertically as well as horizontally. The picker seems to be filling the image's imageOrientation incorrectly: I have to hold the phone sideways, Home button on the left, to get an image with UIImageOrientationUp. At one point I experimented with setting imageView.clipsToBounds = YES;, which revealed that my image view's frame is in fact correct. Rather, it's the UIImage's placement within the UIImageView that gets offset. Fwiw, the image view's contentMode is the default, UIViewContentModeScaleToFill.

    i have a problem using a GridView with a CustomAdapter (extends BaseAdapter). any Activity implements the OnItemClickListener. if i use ImageView as item everything works fine, OnItemClick-Events will be fired/catched I have not found a useful example for a GridView with a custom BaseAdapter using ImageButton.     Hi. We just upgraded to visual studio 2010 RC1 and all of a sudden our controls inside tabcontainer disappeared from the designer file. Actually, it all seemed good in the beginning, the project compiled nicely, but as soon as we did any change in the markup of a page and build the code for the controls inside the tabcontainer disappeared and we got errormessages like so "Error 3 The name 'ddlPeriodicityStartInMonth' does not exist in the current context " Does anyone know if any changes are made to tabcontainer to visual studio 2010 or if this just is a bug?     I was hoping to do something like this, but it appears to be illegal in C#: public Collection MethodThatFetchesSomething<T>() where T : SomeBaseClass { return T.StaticMethodOnSomeBaseClassThatReturnsCollection(); } I get a compile-time error: "'T' is a 'type parameter', which is not valid in the given context." Given a generic type parameter, how can I call a static method on the generic class? The static method has to be available, given the constraint.

  • Serving only certain files from a directory to users on IIS7

    I'm have a need to show the most up to date version of a certain file in a directory to users who access a folder on my site (lets call this folder logs). I can't just move the file into the folder as another process relies on being able to find and edit this file while it is running. At first I had thought I could just create a folder on my site, give it the correct permissions and then create a symbolic link to the file. However it seems IIS7 does not follow symlinks. Another solution would be to create a phpscript that pulls the correct file and displays it, but that felt like over-engineering the solution. I know that on Apache this would be simple, but I can't figure out how to do it with IIS7. To give an idea of the folder structure I'm working with. The directory looks like this. Root --File I need to serve. --File containing plain text passwords. --Other folders/files. I can't move any of these files. If I just serve the entire directory using Virtual Directories in IIS I'll also be sharing files and folders containing configuration and other sensitive information.

  • Entity Framework Many-To-Many with additional field on Joining Table

    I have an entity context that includes three tables (see diagram here). The first is a table that contain products, the second contains recipes. The joining table has fields for IDs in both the products and recipes table as well as a 'bit' field called 'featured'.   • How to add XML elements into the toolbox in Visual Studio 2010 RC

    I'm trying to edit an XML schema in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate RC, but when I go to the toolbox (with the schema open and focused) there's absolutely nothing in the Toolbox view, even when every tutorial out there that I've read tells me that there should be. I've tried using the context menu option for resetting the Toolbox to no effect. Is there something I'm missing ? Something I need to install to get this feature of Visual Studio going ?
