    Hey guys, does anybody know how to disable or manipulate the (in most browsers) dashed border of a dom-element if it has the focus in a tabindex order? i want to build my own style for a focused element but it would be great to use the exixsting feature -because with tabindex it is possible to bind keydown event to the dom-element ... you know what i mean? thanks and regards

  • HTML javascript form submitted when image input button

    I have a form that contains this single input field, which is nothing more than a button to Print the current web page: <div align="center"> <input type="image" src="../Images/print.jpg" value="Print" onclick="printpage();" /></div> </div> After the printing, the page re-submits itself (to itself). Why does it do this and can I stop it? If I just change the type to "input", this code does not re-submit itself after printing: <div align="center"> <input type="input" src="../Images/print.jpg" value="Print" onclick="printpage();" /></div> </div> Unfortunately, our style conventions require me to use that button image rather than the standard input button.

    I get this behavior in both Chrome (Developer Tools) and Firefox (Firebug).     I'm new to DOM and I'm having trouble removing multiple images that I loaded this loads 7 images (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc..) function loadImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var img = document.createElement("img"); img.src = "images/"+i+".jpg"; var idName = "img"+i+""; document.getElementById(idName).appendChild(img); } } this should remove all of them, but doesn't.. I think it breaks at the removeChild line. function removeImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var idName = "img"+i+""; var d = document.getElementById(idName); d.removeChild(document.getElementById(img)); } } I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, because I don't fully understand how this works...

Which has following defination .cellActive{background:"#DDDDDD"} Now i am trying to read the background color property for the cell and it comes null/"". var bgColor = cell.style.backgroundColor; // returning "" Is that something mistake on my part of its by behavior. If CSS class is assigning CSS to element can't we read its value in JS ? Does this mean that if we are not assigning property directly to the element we cant get it if in case its inheriting it ?

    if you have an object and set a property for it, you can access that property in a function called on that object. but if you call a function and do an ajax request such that a different function is called from onreadystatechange, that secondary response function does not have access to the property. Thats a little confusing so see what I mean here.     Hey, The question is pretty simple, but i'm not the big AJAX/JS coder, so I have no clue if it's possible. Is there any way that I can check whether or not an alert() was executed on a remote site? Like if I inputted an alert("Welcome to this site"); through a get variable, is there any way to check if it that alert() was actually executed in the browser? And not necessarily through AJAX/JS.

    Hi, I am using an external asp page (On the company's server - not related to me beside the fact that I'm using it for my job). The asp page has one query in it, I'm writing something in it and it gives me some information. In the information there is a certain line with constant header (let's assume 'HEADER'), I want to build an HTA that pulls the line that contains 'HEADER' to my HTA and display only this line. I think that this isn't possible without any server interaction, but I'm asking anyway. Can someone think of a way doing it? Thanks, Rotem

    Im having this weird reference issue when im trying to get a JSON file through query: var themeData; $.getJSON("json/sample.js", function(data) { themeData = data.theme; console.log(themeData.sample[0].description); }); console.log(themeData.sample[0].description); The first console.log works, the second doesnt. Im guessing because "data" already expired by the time the script gets there and themeData is just a mere pointer to "data". Is there a ways I can make sure themeData gets a duplicate of "data" and not just a pointer to it?

So, I'm basically cloning rows, then incrementing the keys, like this (coffeescript): newrow = oldrow.find('select, input, textarea').each -> this.name = this.name.replace(/\[(\d+)\]/, (str, p1) -> "[" + (parseInt(p1, 10) + 1) + "]" ) this.id = this.id.replace(/\_(\d+)\_/, (str, p1) -> "_" + (parseInt(p1, 10) + 1) + "_" ) .end() This correctly increments a field with a name of product[variations][1][name], turning it into product[variations][2][name] BUT Each variation can have multiple options (eg, color can be red, blue, green), so I need to be able turn this product[variations][1][options][2][name] into product[variations][1][options][3][name], leaving the variation key alone. What regex do I need to match only the last occurrence of a key (the options key)?
