• Question about a dialog form and submit errors

• Unable to access static var from Document Class in AS3

  I have a Document class called "CityModule", and an asset with class "City". Below is the coe for each.   Hello, I've downloaded source of an opensource C++ project. It is a Linux project. As Visual Studio is my favorite IDE I want to use it to browse & study the code. I created an empty C++ project and now want to add the source code to Solution explorer. How can I add the directory structure to "Solution Explorer". Dropping the root folder of source code on the project in solution explorer is not working. Its just adding the files to the project but directory structure is lost. Is there any way to preserve the directory structure? I do not want to recreate the directory structure manually.

• simple modification results in error

  When I tried to do a simple modification of the "hello android" program that eclipse adt plugin generates I get error and can't get the program to run again even if I restore the file to its original contents. The modification was that I changed a string in strings.xml. the line was: <string name="app_name">Todo List</string> and the app was runnable, then I changed it to <string name="app_name">Todo List1</string> and it was an error: [2010-04-21 23:18:03 - Todo_list] Error in an XML file: aborting build. And a new empty file also showed up called: strings.out.xml And then I can't get the prrogram back into runnable state even if I delete the empyt file and restore the original line, I'm a confused beginner of java, android and eclipse.

• Zend Studio 7.1 PHPUnit Test Case wizard does not populate "Element to Test"

  When I follow the instructions in ZS documentation to create a phpunit test case, the wizard returns no objects to select on the "Element to Test" line. Selecting "browse" provides an empty dialog box. The PHPUnit path in my preferences shows "/Applications/zend/zs710/plugins/com.zend.php.phpunit_7.1.0.v20091120-0900/resources/library/". What else can I check to see why I cannot create a test case? I'm new to ZS and PHP, so I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Thanks.

• mysql update too slow when joining multiple tables

  Hi, I have two tables. they looks like as follows: Id (int) Tags char(128). the column Tags in table A does not have value. It is empty. The column Tags in table B has value. What I want to copy the Tags in table B to corresponding place of table A. the mapping is based on Id. My sql query is: update A INNER JOIN B set A.Tags = B.Tags where A.Id = B.Id There are about 2,000,000 rows in table A, and 50,000 rows in table B. The update seems very slow.... Could anyone tell me how to make it run faster?

• An exception to the "only one implementation" rule ?

  While I was reading the accepted answer of this question, I had the following question: Typically, methods are defined in header files (.hpp or whatever), and implementation in source files (.cpp or whatever). One of the main reasons it is bad practice to ever include a "source file" (#include <source_file.cpp>) is that its methods implementation would then be duplicated, resulting in linking errors. When one writes: #ifndef BRITNEYSPEARS_HPP #define BRITNEYSPEARS_HPP class BritneySpears { public: BritneySpears() {}; // Here the constructor has implementation. }; #endif /* BRITNEYSPEARS_HPP */ He is giving the implementation of the constructor (here an "empty" implementation, but still). But why then including this header file multiple times (aka. on different source files) will not generate a "duplicate definition" error at link time ?

• C# Elegant way to handle checking for an item in a collection.

  I've posted a code sample below. Firstly let me explain termStore.Groups in the code below is a collection of Group Objects (The exact class is irrelevant). Checking for null : if (termStore.Groups[groupName] == null) seems like a logical (clean) approach, but if the Groups collection is empty then an exception is produced. using the termStore.Groups.Contains is not an option either because this expects a strong type i.e: .Contains(Group)... not .Contains(GroupName as string) Can someone recommend a clean / generic way I can check for if an item exists in collection . • AppFabric serialization problem.

  I am trying cache a class instance with AppFabric but it return class instance with empty members. The reason is DataContract Attribute. My class is marked with [Serializable] and [DataContract(Name = "TestClass", Namespace = "CustomNameSpace.TestClass")] attributes. Problem solving if I mark all properties with DataMember or remove DataContract attribute. But I do not want to remove DataContract attributte because of other serialization needs (such as json or something else) Or I do not want to add DataMember attribute to other classes.   I've written a little HTML5 based web app that I am trying to debug on the iPad using the Chrome for iPad app. I have added a cache.manifest file to my app which has some heavy caching in it of most static resources however since I am now wanting to debug the app I need a way to clear this cache. I know that on Chrome for Mac you can use: chrome://appcache-internals/ however this page does not exist in the iPad app of Chrome. The regular "Clear Browsing Data" does not empty the appcache —at least not in my case. Does anyone know how I can clear the appcache for the Chrome iPad app?

• File.Copy with opened stream not crashing. Know why?

  I have this code, I open a stream (without closing or disposing it), then I copy the file used by the stream, I thought I should get a "Process can't access file somefile.xml because it's being used by another process" exception, but I don't. Any idea why? Thanks! • Bring Control to ToolBox

  I created a TextBoxControl which is inherited from Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor, an Infragistics control. As showed below. public class TextBoxControl : Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor { //My Stuff } At some level Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor class also inherited from WinForm's "Control" class. My problem is, this control is not appearing in the ToolBox. I done two steps 1. Choose from browse option and select the dll where the class present 2. Drag and drop the dll directly to the ToolBox In-fact both are same, TextBoxControl control is not appearing in the ToolBox, what i missing here. Edit : TextBoxControl class have empty constructor, nothing special in this class.

This would return true: <br> <div></div> <br> This would return false: <br> Some text <div></div> <br> BUT this needs to also return true: <br> <div></div> <br> The third example basically uses an empty TextNode, or blankspaces, or newlines.   This is my first time using StackOverflow. • Textmate newbie question: how to indent CSS

  New to TextMate and can't find the answer in the documentation. I've saved an empty file as CSS and the 'active bundle' is showing as CSS, at the bottom of the screen. I've then pasted in a bunch of CSS from elsewhere (a minified page). However, it's all pasted in as a single line. How can I indent it to look like 'proper' CSS, using TextMate? Text + Indent just indents the whole line by a single tab. thanks!

I have tried initializing a variable in the index method of the books controller but get exactly the same results. Thanks in advance! BTW had to make the links text because of stackoverflow limit.

• Typed DataSet connection - required to have one in the .xsd file?

  In the .xsd file for a typed DataSet in .NET, there's a <Connections> section that contains a list of any data connections I've used to set up the DataTables and TableAdapters. There are times when I'd prefer not to have those there. For instance, sometimes I prefer to pass in a connection string to a custom constructor and use that rather than look for one in settings, .config, etc. But it seems like if I remove the connection strings from that section (leaving it empty), or remove the section entirely, the DataSet code-generation tool freaks out. Whereas if I don't remove them, the DataSet gripes when I put it in a different project because it can't find the settings for those connection strings. Is there any way I can tell a typed DataSet not to worry about any connections? (Obviously I'll have to give it a connection if I change any TableAdapter SQL or stored procs, but that should be my problem.)

• PHP/Codeigniter FTP Timout

  I'm trying to access an FTP server from my PHP script using Codeigniter's FTP Library. These functions work great, but when testing the script I discovered that if I attempt to connect to a server that does not exist, the script does not terminate with an error message of any kind. The page continues to execute, until the web server gives up, returning an empty document. So I am wondering, is there a way to limit the amount of time that Codeigniter can try to connect to an FTP server, then display a message if that times out? I tried using the php function set_time_limit(), but it does not behave how I expected it to. Thanks for your help.
