  I am using Automapper for mapping my domain model and DTO. When I map Mapper.Map<SiteDTO, SiteEntity> it works fine. But when I use collections of the same entities, it doesn't map. Mapper.Map<Collection<SiteEntity>, Collection<SiteDTO>>(siteEntityCollection); AS per Automapper Wiki, it says the lists implementing ICollection would be mapped, I am using Collection that implements ICollection, but automapper doesn't map it. • Is there a general concrete implementation of a KeyedCollection?

  The System.Collections.ObjectModel.KeyedCollection class is a very useful alternative to System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary, especially when the key data is part of the object being stored or you want to be able to enumerate the items in order. Unfortunately, the class is abstract, and I am unable to find a general concrete implementation in the core .NET framework. The Framework Design Guidlines book indicates that a concrete implementation should be provided for abstract types (section 4.4 Abstract Class Design).   Hi there I'm a .NET guy originally, working in Java recently, and finding I'm really missing LINQ to Objects, specifically for performing filtering against collections. A few people here on Stack Overflow have answered the "LINQ for Java?" question with a single word : Quaere However, on the site it clearly states "Pre-Beta", and there's been no commits to their code for over a year, so I'm guessing the project is pretty much dead. Is anyone actually using this, and / or have any experience with it? The second most common answer appears to be "use Google Collections". Is this the most appropriate Java way? Cheers Marty

• ASP.NET handling button click event before OnPreInit

  Hello, I have a data access layer, a business logic layer and a presentation layer (ie. the pages themselves). I handle the OnPreInit event and populate collections required for the page. All the data comes from an SQL server database and I do not use caching. I handle a button click event to grab values from a form and insert a new object into the database. The problem is that by the time I handle the click event, the collections have already been populated, so the new item which has been inserted into the database has not been retrieved. What is the accepted solution to this? I could insert the new object directly into the collection and re-bind the GridView, but the SQL query selects only a set of objects and the new object could fall outside of this set. Thanks!

Something like ReferenceIdentityMap from Appache Collections, but on class scope i.e. two different instances of same class must be identified as same in this collection. You know, it is a violation of equals()/hashCode() identity principle but in occasional use it makes sense. I have done this in simple class backing with Map<Class<? extends E>, E>, but due to simplicity it doesn't implement Set<E>. There may be a more elegant solution, decorator of any Set<E> would be great. Is there any implementation of such collection there (Apache/Google/something/... Collections)?

  Let's assume we have two collections: List<double> values List<SomePoint> points where SomePoint is a type containing three coordinates of the point: SomePoint { double X; double Y; double Z; } Now, I would like to perform the intersection between these two collections to find out for which points in points the z coordinate is eqal to one of the elements of values I created something like that: HashSet<double> hash = new HashSet<double>(points.Select(p=>p.Z)); hash.IntersectWith(values); var result = new List<SomePoints>(); foreach(var h in hash) result.Add(points.Find(p => p.Z == h)); But it won't return these points for which there is the same Z value, but different X and Y.   I've been playing around with "bottom-up" JAX-WS and have come across something odd when running wsgen. If I have a service class that does something like: @WebService public class Foo { public ArrayList<Bar> getBarList(String baz) { ... } } then running wsgen gets me a FooService_schema1.xsd that has something like this: <xs:complexType name="getBarListResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:bar" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> which seems reasonable. However, if I want a collection of collections like: public BarCollection getBarCollection(String baz) { ... } // BarCollection is just a container for an ArrayList<Bar> then the generated schema ends up with stuff like: <xs:complexType name="barCollection"> <xs:sequence/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="getBookCollectionsResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:barCollection" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> An empty sequence is not what I had in mind at all. • Model self referential collections in Rails

  I have written an application for an online clothing store in Rails 2.3.5. I want to show related Products when a customer views the Product Detail page. For example, if the customer views the detail page for a suit, I'd like to display the accessory products that match the dress such as a vest, shoes, and belt. I have named the related products an Ensemble. However, the vest, shoes, and belts are also Products which is what has me struggling. I have it working as follows but I know it's not the Rails way. I have a Products table for all of the products. Not important here but I also have a ProductDetails table. I have an Ensembles table that has the following columns: product_id - the main or origination product, the one displayed on the detail page outfit_id - the related or accessory product In setting up the data, on the Products list, for each Product I have an Ensemble link. This link takes you to the index action in the Ensembles controller. Using the id from the "main" Product, I find all of the associated Ensemble rows by product_id or I create a new ensemble and assign the id from the main product as the product_id. I'd like to just be able to do @product.related_products to get an Ensemble collection. Also on the index page I list the columns of the main product so the user can be sure their main product was the one they selected from the list. I also have a select list of the other products, with an Add to Ensemble action. Finally on the same index page, I have a table that displays the products that are already in the ensemble and in that list each row has a destroy link to remove a particular product from the ensemble. It would be nice if given a single Ensemble row @ensemble I could do @ensemble.product to get the Product related to the outfit_id of the ensemble row. I've got it working without associations but I have to run queries in the controller to build my own @product, @ensemble, and @ensembles collections. Also the only way I found to destroy an ensemble row is by Ensemble.connection.delete(sql to delete), simple @ensemble.destroy doesn't work. Anyone know how I would set up the associations or have a link to a site explaining a similar setup. None of the examples I found use the same table. They have A related to B through C. I want A related to other A through B.

• Domain transfer from Yahoo to Godaddy. Google apps downtime

  I am moving my domain from Yahoo to Godaddy (cause yahoo charges ridiculously hugh amounts than others). My problem is I use this domain for Google apps and one of those is my custom email. So here are a few questions that I have - 1) Godaddy told me there is going to be a 48 hours of downtime. Is there anything that I can do to minimize the downtime? 2) Will I lose all the email that I get during this downtime? or they be stored in the cloud and bulk emailed me once my domain is up with Godaddy? If they are lost is there any workaround to forward them to my gmail during the downtime (i know sounds stupid, but I have to ask). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Google and Yahoo redirect my site to malware, but direct url works fine. Any computer

  I can go directly to the site doublewing.org or www. without issue, but if I click on the link in google or yahoo it redirects to spam sites. Swagbucks works though! This is not on a single computer this happens on systems isolated from each other(Try it, avast blocks it) . The site is runing joomla 1.5.25 . I deleted .htacces, put fresh index.php and index2.php files. and still get the same results. Any ideas?

• Why did Google remove the search box in developer tool from Chrome 22 stable release?

  In previous version of Chrome, there's the search box in developer tool, on the right top when I open it, just as shown below. (Sorry I can't upload image cuz' I don't have enough reputation for now.) http://i.minus.com/iklSx2vi0uzFB.JPG But, after I upgraded to the first release of Chrome 22 yesterday, that search box was gone, as shown below. http://i.minus.com/ibxXt9wnBekR7E.JPG It is such a useful search box that I rely on all the time, to search for something, or to validate an xpath. So does Google just 'hide' it somewhere else? Or do they really remove it? Anyone know why they made such changes?

• Restricted blogspot account. Unable to subscribe using Google Reader?

  I used blogspot.com and restricted its viewership to just its authors. However I cannot use Google Reader to subscribe to the RSS feed. Is there a workaround? I need to be notified somehow whenever somebody posts to that private blog. I am one of its authors. My blogspot.com allows me to set the readership to just its authors. So that is what I have done. I did not do any password protect settings at all.

We have a user in our organization that had been using her email address at our domain at her username for gmail.com We recently moved our folks on to Google Apps, and have just moved our email server over to Google (IMAP/SMTP). I'm having all kinds of trouble only with this user's account with her sending and receiving email via the new Google mail server and wondering if it's because of her existing Gmail account. So her email address with us is [email protected], which is her login/user id with us on our Google Apps site. She still has her gmail identity tied to that same [email protected]. She's ok with deleting her old Gmail account...if I do so however will it goof things up for her going forward with us on the Google Apps site? Will she not be able to receive email? Thanks! Joshua

  There is a shortcut in the Google Chrome Developer Tools which happen to trigger every times I try to type the [ or ] character in the console. The shortcut in question probably is Alt+[, Alt+^ or [ and it moves the tabs (of the Chrome Developer Tools) to the last selected one. This shortcut is simply blocking me from typing the [ or ] in the console and I want to either disable it or edit it to something else. How can I edit or disable that shortcut ? Note : I'm not really using the shortcut in the developers tools, so if it's only possible to disable all shortcut it would be a viable solution.

  Google Chrome doesn't seem to respect my dpi-setting in Windows. i run at 150 dpi, but Chrome ignores that; meaning that images and text are teeeeeeny tiny. i hit Ctrl + + Ctrl + + to zoom in. Unfortunatly every new tab, or new window, defaults to the 100% teeny tiny zoom level. Is it possible for either: Chrome to respect my Windows dpi setting? Chrome to remember my zoom preference? Example 1: Alot of visitors leave the website on a specific page, this could be because there aren't enough forwards / links on that page so that the visitors don't see a reason to continue their travel on the website. Example 2: Your traffic sources are 70% direct visits, 28% redirects from other websites and 2% by search engine. You could say that your website is not easily findable in search engines which could be interpreted as a sign that your keywords and/or meta description aren't good enough to be found.   Sometimes I want to (easily) add the link for a web page I'm viewing with Google Chrome to Chome's Windows 7 jump list. Is there a way to do this? I have tried dragging the bookmark/star to the left of the URL in the address bar onto Chrome's jump list, but this doesn't seem to "take". The only way I have found that works is rather kludgey. If I close the tab for the page I want to add then it shows up in the jump list under "Recently Closed". I can then pin the link to the jump list. It would be nice to have a way to add a web page to the jump list without first having to close it.

• How to fix audio/game stuttering in Google Chrome's Flash plug-in?

  I'm having an issue. Windows XP, running the latest Chrome 23 build. I'm using Flash 11.5 built into Chrome (Pepper Flash). It runs horribly. Chrome 22 did not have this issue as far as I recall. What a shame. YouTube videos stutter badly and after a while, they begin to lag and lose sync with the video. I disabled Pepper Flash and tested HTML5 video in YouTube and it was smooth as glass. Additionally, certain Flash based games are almost unusable now. The plug-in is using 100% CPU and it lags horribly in these games. Google/Adobe, please fix this. I shouldn't have to disable the built-in Flash plug-in (with added sandboxing security) and use regular Flash to resolve this. Short of waiting for an update to Chrome, does anyone have a better solution to fixing this? I am all ears.
