• How do I automatically update hundreds of images in an HTML page using jquery?

  I have an HTML page where I want to refresh a lot of images every 30 seconds after the HTML page has been downloaded. I understand how to do this with Jquery and a single image, but I want to use about 200 custom urls to determine the current image to display for over 200 images. I need to find an efficient way to have jquery call the custom url associated with each image to download the url for the needed image as it changes, and then update the image in the page when it changes. Current hyperlink example to demonstrate the custom urls. <A href="/urlThatReturnsCurrentImageURL/1234/4567">link to url for image</A> Each custom url will return an image tag like this (or any other text that makes this simpler for jquery) <img src="/static/someImage.jpg"> What is the simplest way to have jquery call the custom url for each image to download the image url, image html, or some other text that jquery can use to download the right image every 30 seconds? Please keep in mind that I will have about 200 of these on a page.

  Hi, I want to post values to a page through a hyperlink in another page. Is it possible to do that? Let's say I have a page results.php which has the starting line, <?php if(isset($_POST['posted_value'])) { echo "expected value"; // do something with the data } else { echo "no the value expected"; } If from another page say link.php I place a hyperlink like this: <a href="results.php?posted_value=1"> , will this be accepetd by the results page? If instead if I replace the above starting line with if(isset($_REQUEST['posted_value'])), will this work? I believe the above hyperlink evaluates to GET, but since the only visibility difference between GET and POST that is you can see parameters in the address bar with GET But, is there any other way to place a hyperlink which can post values to a page? or can we use jquery in the place of hyperlink to POST the values? Can anyone please suggest me something on this please? Thanks.

• Create a subtitle for menu items in Silverstripe CMS?

  Hi I'm using Silverstripe CMS on the "Simple" template. I'm wondering how to create subtitles for the menu items. The current navigation template is like so: <nav class="primary"> <span class="nav-open-button">²</span> <ul> <% loop $Menu(2) %> <li class="$LinkingMode"><a href="$Link" title="$Title.XML">$MenuTitle.XML</a></li> <% end_loop %> </ul> I'm thinking i could somehow edit $Menutitle.XML but how? Also the sub title should be displayed directly under the Title but as the same button. The SubTitle would need to have a different css rule so that it could be smaller. I know that the CMS has an area for me to edit the page titles which become the menu titles, would it be easy to add a subtitle to the admin like that or is there some other easier way? I only need to make a few of them.

  I have an odd bug, this jQuery code executes correctly when calling the page via HTTP, but once I connect to the page via HTTPS it doesn't execute.   I have a bunch of log files which are pure text. Here is an example of one... Overall Failures Log SW Failures - 03.09.2010 - /logs/swfailures.txt - 23 errors - 24 warnings HW Failures - 03.09.2010 - /logs/hwfailures.txt - 42 errors - 25 warnings SW Failures - 03.10.2010 - /logs/swfailures.txt - 32 errors - 27 warnings HW Failures - 03.10.2010 - /logs/hwfailures.txt - 11 errors - 31 warnings These files can get quite large and contain a lot of other information. I'd like to produce an HTML file from this log that will add links to key portions and allow the user to open up other log files as a result... SW Failures - 03.09.2010 - <a href="/logs/swfailures.txt">/logs/swfailures.txt</a> - 23 errors - 24 warnings This is greatly simplified as I would like to add many more links and other html elements. My question is -- what is the best way to do this? If the files are large, should I generate the html before serving it to the user or will jsp do? Should I use perl or other scripting languages to do this? What are your thoughts and experiences?

  I want to list all sub-pages only one level though of one particular page. I was reading Function Reference/get pages and thought that $pages = get_pages( array( 'child_of' => $post->ID, 'parent' => $post->ID)) ; will do the trick but it is not working. It lists all pages on the same level like the page I call that code from. If I omit parent option I will get all pages even with sub-pages that I want. But I want only sub-pages. • javascript/html/php: Is it possible to insert a value into a form with Ajax?

  I have a form where users enter some text manually. Then I'd like to let the users choose a tag from a database through AJAX, not unlike how tag suggestions appear in the SO question form. While the div where the ajax call places the tag is inside the form, it does not seem to register and the tag is not picked up by the form. Am I missing something in my code, is this impossible or, if impossible there a better way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions.   Hello all, I have been told its better to bind events to elements rather than having onclicks with functions everywhere. I agree with this as it devolves more from the HTML which means cleaner and easier to debug code. But I am having trouble doing this!   Hello, I have 1 div that will contain 3-5 divs with the same class. Below the div is an anchor. I would like for when this anchor is clicked it will hide the first div and then show the second. Another click would show the next and so on. I have set display:none on all divs but the first so only one is currently showing. I just can't figure out how to hide the first and then show the second, then third, then next when clicking the anchor. <div class="container-div"> <div class="inner-div">...</div> <div class="inner-div" style="display:none;">...</div> <div class="inner-div" style="display:none;">...</div> <a href="#" class="more">More</a> </div> So when the more anchor is clicked it would show one inner-div one at a time. • mailto: anchor links unloading html5 video in Chrome

  I have a very simple page with a <video> tag and an email anchor link: http://jsfiddle.net/6GquX/3/ Clicking the email link in Chrome (OS X 10.8 + Win7, 23.0.1271.97) invokes the beforeunloadchange event and causes the video to unload, which isn't the desired outcome. Curiously enough, if I let the video buffer a bit and then click the email link, the video keeps playing and doesn't unload. To my knowledge this only occurs in Chrome and I'm truly at a loss. Visiting any HTML5 video player site (videojs, flowplayer etc), starting a HTML5 video and then immediately simulating an email click with document.location.href = "mailto:[email protected]" in the dev console yields the same error. However, I'm inclined to think it's the way in which the video has been encoded as I'm unable to recreate the above with a video downloaded from YouTube's HTML5 player: http://jsfiddle.net/6GquX/4/ (source) 1. Is it possible that YouTube are encoding their videos in a particular way to combat this? 2. Are there any strategies / hacks I can employ to get around this?

  I have made a login page. When the user logs in a request to an API is send. This API is PHP and checks the username and password. When both are correct an unique key is send back (this is placed in the database for further use: userid and other stuff needed in the website). After that key is sent back it is placed in a cookie: $.cookie("session", JSON.stringify(result)); After the cookie is set I send the user to a new page: location.href = 'dashboard.htm'; In this page jQuery checks if the cookie "session" is present. If not, the user is send back to the login page. sessionId = ($.cookie("session") ? JSON.parse($.cookie("session")).SessionId : 0); return sessionId; This works fine in Chrome, but IE (8/9) has some problems with this. I figured out that when you get to dashboard.htm the session is present. As soon as I hit F5 the session is gone. And sometimes the cookie isn't set at all! I can't seem to figure out why this is happening in IE. Has someone any idea? Other options/ideas to save that unique key are also welcome. Thanks in advance.

  Hi, Im building a web application that displays a xfdf document. When we are testing in adobe 5 and we can't stop adobe opening outside the webpage. The user clicks the report and it should open in the browser but instead it opens in adobe it appears to work in everything but adobe 5. We have previously done this with out any problems. Any ideas? • Shadowbox + jQuery not working - No errors.

  First, apologies. I'm a js newb. I'm attempting to trigger a shadowbox with the load of a specific page - a "pop-up" if you will. Nothing happens and according to firebug, there are no errors to report. I should note that this is wordpress, so I'm using the default jQuery call and also shadowbox rolled into a WP plug-in. • How do you send email from IMAP account with PHP?

  I'm having an issue sending email via PHP/IMAP - and I don't know if it's because: I don't correctly understand IMAP, or there's an issue with my server My application opens an IMAP connection to an email account to read messages in the inbox. It does this successfully. The problem I have is that I want to send messages from this account and have them display in the outbox/sent folder. As far as I can tell, the PHP imap_mail() function doesn't in any way hook into the IMAP stream I currently have open. My code executes without throwing an error. However, the email never arrives to the recipient and never displays in my sent folder. private function createHeaders() { return "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n" . "\r\n"; } private function notifyAdminForCompleteSet($urlToCompleteSet) { $message = " <p> In order to process the latest records, you must visit <a href='$urlToCompleteSet'>the website</a> and manually export the set. </p> "; try { imap_mail( $this->adminEmail, "Alert: Manual Export of Records Required", wordwrap($message, 70), $this->createHeaders() ); echo(" ---> Admin notified via email!\n"); } catch (Exception $e) { throw new Exception("Error in notifyAdminForCompleteSet()"); } } I'm guessing I need to copy the message into the IMAP account manually... or is there a different solution to this problem? Also, does it matter if the domain in the "from" address is different than that of the server on whicn this script is running? I can't explain why the message is never sent.
