  I have a master page which references a style in the following manner: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/Style.css" /> All my pages inherit from this master page. And this works well when the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/details/5, however the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/create, then, of course, Style.css cannot be found because `../../Content/Style.css' resolves to a directory one higher where there is nothing there. How is this typically handled?

I still want to keep my own repository and keep it's history, but I want to have a 1:1 copy of someRemote's master branch after that command.

  I'd read that when renaming files in git, you should commit any changes, perform your rename and then stage your renamed file. Git will recognise the file from the contents, rather than seeing it as a new untracked file, and keep the change history. However, doing just this tonight I ended up reverting to git mv. > $ git status # On branch master # Changes to be committed: # (use "git reset HEAD <file>..." to unstage) # # modified: index.html # Rename my stylesheet in Finder from iphone.css to mobile.css > $ git status # On branch master # Changes to be committed: # (use "git reset HEAD <file>..." to unstage) # # modified: index.html # # Changed but not updated: # (use "git add/rm <file>..." to update what will be committed) # (use "git checkout -- <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) # # deleted: css/iphone.css # # Untracked files: # (use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed) # # css/mobile.css So git now thinks I've deleted one CSS file, and added a new one. • GOTO still considered harmful?

  Everyone is aware of Dijkstra's Letters to the editor: go to statement considered harmful (also here .html transcript and here .pdf) and there has been a formidable push since that time to eschew the goto statement whenever possible. While it's possible to use goto to produce unmaintainable, sprawling code, it nevertheless remains in modern programming languages. Even the advanced continuation control structure in Scheme can be described as a sophisticated goto. What circumstances warrant the use of goto? When is it best to avoid? As a followup question: C provides a pair of functions, setjmp and longjmp, that provide the ability to goto not just within the current stack frame but within any of the calling frames. Should these be considered as dangerous as goto? More dangerous? Dijkstra himself regretted that title, of which he was not responsible for. At the end of EWD1308 (also here .pdf) he wrote: Finally a short story for the record. In 1968, the Communications of the ACM published a text of mine under the title "The goto statement considered harmful", which in later years would be most frequently referenced, regrettably, however, often by authors who had seen no more of it than its title, which became a cornerstone of my fame by becoming a template: we would see all sorts of articles under the title "X considered harmful" for almost any X, including one titled "Dijkstra considered harmful". But what had happened? I had submitted a paper under the title "A case against the goto statement", which, in order to speed up its publication, the editor had changed into a "letter to the Editor", and in the process he had given it a new title of his own invention! The editor was Niklaus Wirth. A well thought out classic paper about this topic, to be matched to that of Dijkstra, is Structured Programming with go to Statements (also here .pdf), by Donald E. Knuth. Reading both helps to reestablish context and a non-dogmatic understanding of the subject. In this paper, Dijkstra's opinion on this case is reported and is even more strong: Donald E. Knuth: I believe that by presenting such a view I am not in fact disagreeing sharply with Dijkstra's ideas, since he recently wrote the following: "Please don't fall into the trap of believing that I am terribly dogmatical about [the go to statement]. I have the uncomfortable feeling that others are making a religion out of it, as if the conceptual problems of programming could be solved by a single trick, by a simple form of coding discipline!"

Same for PDF. Without the Grid, all exporters leave out the quotation marks. What magic do I need to get rid of the quotation marks in the PDF?

• Wondering why DisplayName attribute is ignored in LabelFor on an overridden property

  Hi, today I got confused when doing a couple of <%=Html.LabelFor(m=>m.MyProperty)%> in ASP.NET MVC 2 and using the [DisplayName("Show this instead of MyProperty")] attribute from System.ComponentModel. As it turned out, when I put the attribute on an overridden property, LabelFor didn't seem to notice it. However, the [Required] attribute works fine on the overridden property, and the generated errormessage actually uses the DisplayNameAttribute.   Can you help me make sense of all the different ways to communicate from browser to client in ASP.NET? I have made this a community wiki so feel free to edit my post to improve it. Specifically, I'm trying to understand in which scenario to use each one by listing how each works. I'm a little fuzzy on UpdatePanel vs CallBack (with ViewState): I know UpdatePanel always returns HTML while CallBack can return JSON. Any other major differences? ...and CallBack (without ViewState) vs WebMethod. CallBack goes through most of the Page lifecycle, WebMethod doesn't. Any other major differences?   Hello, i did save png and pdf file in Sqlite successfully. but when i retrive png and pdf data from sqlite and trying to display in Webview its create a problem. for exp NSData *data = [[NSData alloc] initWithBytes:sqlite3_column_blob(selectstmt, 1) length:sqlite3_column_bytes(selectstmt, 3)]; [webview loadData:data MIMEType:@"image/png" textEncodingName:@"UTF-8" baseURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@""]]; but problem is there only see image tag not display image. any solution of below of the code.
