  • Silverlight on Windows Phone

    This was a great announcement last week at MIX10: the programming model for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 is Silverlight!   For now it is Silverlight 3, with the possibility to use phone specific features: orientation location & map control (GPS) mic push notifications motion detection accelerometer compass light proximity contacts So we have the same programming model we already know, develop in Visual Studio, test with the built-in emulator or deploy...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.

  • How is this paradigm/style called?

    - by McMannus
    I have the following situation: I'm developing an add-in for a UML modeling tool. The models that can be created by the user are stored inside the main application and a limited access to the models is given through its API. However, the add-in has a lot of callbacks for events that are triggered by the main application, when changes to the model occur by the user. Since the models are already stored once in the main application, I considered it not practicable to duplicate the models in the add-in, which leads to the fact that I have only behavior in the add-in, rather than having a state. This behavior is mainly expressed by static functions, that are organized in functional cohesive classes. The callbacks for the events have always references to the model elements relevant for the specifc event that ocurred. First, it seemed to me that this is a procedural style in general, but procedural style doesn't consider events/callbacks, so this boils down to the question. How is this programming style called?

  • How do I display a Wicket Datatable, sorted by a specific column by default?

    - by David
    Hello everyone! I have a question regarding Wicket's Datatable. I am currently using DataTable to display a few columns of data. My table is set up as follows: DataTable<Column> dataTable = new DataTable<Column>("columnsTable", columns, provider, maxRowsPerPage) { @Override protected Item<Column> newRowItem(String id, int index, IModel<Column> model) { return new OddEvenItem<Column>(id, index, model); } }; The columns look like so: columns[0] = new PropertyColumn<Column>(new Model<String>("Description"), "description", "description"); columns[1] = new PropertyColumn<Column>(new Model<String>("Logic"), "columnLogic"); columns[2] = new PropertyColumn<Column>(new Model<String>("Type"), "dataType", "dataType"); Here is my column data provider: public class ColumnSortableDataProvider extends SortableDataProvider<Column> { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private List<Column> list = null; public ColumnSortableDataProvider(Table table) { this.list = Arrays.asList(table.getColumns().toArray(new Column[0])); } public ColumnSortableDataProvider(List<Column> list) { this.list = list; } @Override public Iterator<? extends Column> iterator(int first, int count) { /* first - first row of data count - minimum number of elements to retrieve So this method returns an iterator capable of iterating over {first, first+count} items */ Iterator<Column> iterator = null; try { if(getSort() != null) { Collections.sort(list, new Comparator<Column>() { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; @Override public int compare(Column c1, Column c2) { int result=1; PropertyModel<Comparable> model1= new PropertyModel<Comparable>(c1, getSort().getProperty()); PropertyModel<Comparable> model2= new PropertyModel<Comparable>(c2, getSort().getProperty()); if(model1.getObject() == null && model2.getObject() == null) result = 0; else if(model1.getObject() == null) result = 1; else if(model2.getObject() == null) result = -1; else result = ((Comparable)model1.getObject()).compareTo(model2.getObject()); result = getSort().isAscending() ? result : -result; return result; } }); } if (list.size() > (first+count)) iterator = list.subList(first, first+count).iterator(); else iterator = list.iterator(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return iterator; } Sorting by clicking a column works perfectly, but I would like the table to initially be sorted, by default, by the Description column. I am at a loss to do this. If you need to see some other code, please let me know. Thank you in advance!!! - D

  • How do I use accepts_nested_attributes_for?

    - by Angela
    Editing my question for conciseness and to update what I've done: How do I model having multiple Addresses for a Company and assign a single Address to a Contact, and be able to assign them when creating or editing a Contact? I want to use nested attributes to be able to add an address at the time of creating a new contact. That address exists as its own model because I may want the option to drop-down from existing addresses rather than entering from scratch. I can't seem to get it to work. I get a undefined method `build' for nil:NilClass error Here is my model for Contacts: class Contact < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :first_name, :last_name, :title, :phone, :fax, :email, :company, :date_entered, :campaign_id, :company_name, :address_id, :address_attributes belongs_to :company belongs_to :address accepts_nested_attributes_for :address end Here is my model for Address: class Address < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :street1, :street2, :city, :state, :zip has_many :contacts end I would like, when creating an new contact, access all the Addresses that belong to the other Contacts that belong to the Company. So here is how I represent Company: class Company < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :phone, :addresses has_many :contacts has_many :addresses, :through => :contacts end Here is how I am trying to create a field in the View for _form for Contact so that, when someone creates a new Contact, they pass the address to the Address model and associate that address to the Contact: <% f.fields_for :address, @contact.address do |builder| %> <p> <%= builder.label :street1, "Street 1" %> </br> <%= builder.text_field :street1 %> <p> <% end %> When I try to Edit, the field for Street 1 is blank. And I don't know how to display the value from show.html.erb. At the bottom is my error console -- can't seem to create values in the address table: My Contacts controller is as follows: def new @contact = Contact.new @contact.address.build # Iundefined method `build' for nil:NilClass @contact.date_entered = Date.today @campaigns = Campaign.find(:all, :order => "name") if params[:campaign_id].blank? else @campaign = Campaign.find(params[:campaign_id]) @contact.campaign_id = @campaign.id end if params[:company_id].blank? else @company = Company.find(params[:company_id]) @contact.company_name = @company.name end end def create @contact = Contact.new(params[:contact]) if @contact.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully created contact." redirect_to @contact else render :action => 'new' end end def edit @contact = Contact.find(params[:id]) @campaigns = Campaign.find(:all, :order => "name") end Here is a snippet of my error console: I am POSTING the attribute, but it is not CREATING in the Address table.... • ListBoxFor not populating with selected items

    - by user576838
    I've see this question asked a couple of other times, and I followed this after I tried things on my own with the MS music store demo to no avail, but I still can't get this to work. I've also noticed when I look at my MultiSelectList object in the viewmodel, it has the correct items in the selected items property, but if I expand the results view, it doesn't have any listboxitem with the selected value. What am I missing here? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Thanks in advance. model: public class Article { public int ArticleID { get; set; } public DateTime? DatePurchased { get; set; } public DateTime? LastWorn { get; set; } public string ThumbnailImg { get; set; } public string LargeImg { get; set; } public virtual List<Outfit> Outfits { get; set; } public virtual List<Tag> Tags { get; set; } } viewmodel: public class ArticleViewModel { public int ArticleID { get; set; } public List<Tag> Tags { get; set; } public MultiSelectList mslTags { get; set; } public virtual Article Article { get; set; } public ArticleViewModel(int ArticleID) { using (ctContext db = new ctContext()) { this.Article = db.Articles.Find(ArticleID); this.Tags = db.Tags.ToList(); this.mslTags = new MultiSelectList(this.Tags, "TagID", "Name", this.Article.Tags); } } } controller: public ActionResult Index() { ArticleIndexViewModel vm = new ArticleIndexViewModel(db); return View(vm); } view: @model ClosetTracker.ArticleViewModel @using (Html.BeginForm()) { <img id="bigImg" src="@Model.Article.ThumbnailImg" alt="img" /> @Html.HiddenFor(m => m.ArticleID); @Html.LabelFor(m => m.Article.Tags) @* @Html.ListBoxFor(m => m.Article.Tags, Model.Tags.Select(t => new SelectListItem { Text = t.Name, Value = t.TagID.ToString() }), new { Multiple = "multiple" }) *@ @Html.ListBoxFor(m => m.Article.Tags, Model.mslTags); @Html.LabelFor(m => m.Article.LastWorn) @Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.Article.LastWorn, new { @class = "datepicker" }) @Html.LabelFor(m => m.Article.DatePurchased) @Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.Article.DatePurchased, new { @class = "datepicker" }) <p> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> } EDITED Ok, I changed around the constructor of the MultiSelectList to have a list of TagID in the selected value arg instead of a list of Tag objects. This shows the correct tags as selected in the results view when I watch the mslTags object in debug mode. However, it still isn't rendering correctly to the page. public class ArticleViewModel { public int ArticleID { get; set; } public List<Tag> Tags { get; set; } public MultiSelectList mslTags { get; set; } public virtual Article Article { get; set; } public ArticleViewModel(int ArticleID) { using (ctContext db = new ctContext()) { this.Article = db.Articles.Find(ArticleID); this.Tags = db.Tags.ToList(); this.mslTags = new MultiSelectList(this.Tags, "TagID", "Name", this.Article.Tags.Select(t => t.TagID).ToList()); } } }

  • CFStrings and storing them into models, related topics

    - by Jasconius
    I have a very frustrating issue that I believe involves CFStringRef and passing them along to custom model properties. The code is pretty messy right now as I am in a debug state, but I will try to describe the problem in words as best as I can. I have a custom model, User, which for irrelevant reasons, I am storing CF types derived from the Address Book API into. Examples include: Name, email as NSStrings. I am simply retrieving the CFStringRef value from the AddressBook API and casting as a string, whereupon I assign to the custom model instance and then CFRelease the string. These NSString properties are set as (nonatomic, retain). I then store this model into an NSArray, and I use this Array as a datasource for a UITableView When accessing the object in the cellForRowAtIndexPath, I get a memory access error. When I do a Debug, I see that the value for this datasource array appears at first glance to be corrupted. I've seen strange values assigned to it, including just plain strings, such as one that I fed to an NSLog function in earlier in the method. So, the thing that leads me to believe that this is Core Foundation related is that I am executing this exact same code, in the same class even, on non-Address Book data, in fact, just good old JSON parsed strings, which produce true Cocoa NSStrings, that I follow the same exact steps to create the datasource array. This code works fine. I have a feeling that my (retain) property declaration and/or my [stringVar release] in my custom model dealloc method may be causing memory problems (since it is my understanding that you shouldn't call a Cocoa retain or release on a CF object). Here is the code. I know some of this is super-roundabout but I was trying to make things as explicit as possible for the sake of debugging. NSMutableArray *friendUsers = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; int numberOfPeople = CFArrayGetCount(people); for (int i = 0; i < numberOfPeople; i++) { ABMutableMultiValueRef emails = ABRecordCopyValue(CFArrayGetValueAtIndex(people, i), kABPersonEmailProperty); if (ABMultiValueGetCount(emails) > 0) { User *addressContact = [[User alloc] init]; NSString *firstName = (NSString *)ABRecordCopyValue(CFArrayGetValueAtIndex(people, i), kABPersonFirstNameProperty); NSString *lastName = (NSString *)ABRecordCopyValue(CFArrayGetValueAtIndex(people, i), kABPersonLastNameProperty); NSLog(@"%@ and %@", firstName, lastName); NSString *fullName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", firstName, lastName]; NSString *email = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", (NSString *)ABMultiValueCopyValueAtIndex(emails, 0)]; NSLog(@"the email: %@", email); [addressContact setName:fullName]; [addressContact setEmail:email]; [friendUsers addObject:addressContact]; [firstName release]; [lastName release]; [email release]; [addressContact release]; } CFRelease(emails); } NSLog(@"friend count: %d", [friendUsers count]); abFriends = [NSArray arrayWithArray:friendUsers]; [friendUsers release]; All of that works, every logging statement returns as expected. But when I use abFriends as a datasource, poof. Dead. Is my approach all wrong? Any advice?

  • Java Runtime.getRuntime().exec() alternatives

    - by twilbrand
    I have a collection of webapps that are running under tomcat. Tomcat is configured to have as much as 2 GB of memory using the -Xmx argument. Many of the webapps need to perform a task that ends up making use of the following code: Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime(); Process process = runtime.exec(command); process.waitFor(); ... The issue we are having is related to the way that this "child-process" is getting created on Linux (Redhat 4.4 and Centos 5.4). It's my understanding that an amount of memory equal to the amount tomcat is using needs to be free in the pool of physical (non-swap) system memory initially for this child process to be created. When we don't have enough free physical memory, we are getting this: java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:148) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(ProcessImpl.java:65) at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:452) ... 28 more My questions are: 1) Is it possible to remove the requirement for an amount of memory equal to the parent process being free in the physical memory? I'm looking for an answer that allows me to specify how much memory the child process gets or to allow java on linux to access swap memory. 2) What are the alternatives to Runtime.getRuntime().exec() if no solution to #1 exists? I could only think of two, neither of which is very desirable. JNI (very un-desirable) or rewriting the program we are calling in java and making it it's own process that the webapp communicates with somehow. There has to be others. 3) Is there another side to this problem that I'm not seeing that could potentially fix it? Lowering the amount of memory used by tomcat is not an option. Increasing the memory on the server is always an option, but seems like more a band-aid. Servers are running java 6.

  • Service Oriented Architecture & Domain-Driven Design

    - by Michael
    I've always developed code in a SOA type of way. This year I've been trying to do more DDD but I keep getting the feeling that I'm not getting it. At work our systems are load balanced and designed not to have state. The architecture is: Website ===Physical Layer== Main Service ==Physical Layer== Server 1/Service 2/Service 3/Service 4 Only Server 1,Service 2,Service 3 and Service 4 can talk to the database and the Main Service calls the correct service based on products ordered. Every physical layer is load balanced too. Now when I develop a new service, I try to think DDD in that service even though it doesn't really feel like it fits. I use good DDD principles like entities, value types, repositories, aggregates, factories and etc. I've even tried using ORM's but they just don't seem like they fit in a stateless architecture. I know there are ways around it, for example use IStatelessSession instead of ISession with NHibernate. However, ORM just feel like they don't fit in a stateless architecture. I've noticed I really only use some of the concepts and patterns DDD has taught me but the overall architecture is still SOA. I am starting to think DDD doesn't fit in large systems but I do think some of the patterns and concepts do fit in large systems. Like I said, maybe I'm just not grasping DDD or maybe I'm over analyzing my designs? Maybe by using the patterns and concepts DDD has taught me I am using DDD? Not sure if there is really a question to this post but more of thoughts I've had when trying to figure out where DDD fits in overall systems and how scalable it truly is. The truth is, I don't think I really even know what DDD is?

    I am using hx:commandExButton of IBM Faces Client Framework to call my method. But the method is not getting called. But if I use immediate="true" it's getting called. But as you all know with this my model won't get updated, so it has no use to me. Has anyone faced this? • How to call a new thread from button click

    - by Lynnooi
    Hi, I'm trying to call a thread on a button click (btn_more) but i cant get it right. The thread is to get some data and update the images. The problem i have is if i only update 4 or 5 images then it works fine. But if i load more than 5 images i will get a force close. At times when the internet is slow I will face the same problem too. Can please help me to solve this problem or provide me some guidance? Here is the error i got from LogCat: 04-19 18:51:44.907: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): java.lang.NullPointerException 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at mobile9.android.gallery.GalleryWallpapers.setWallpaperThumb(GalleryWallpapers.java:383) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at mobile9.android.gallery.GalleryWallpapers.access$4(GalleryWallpapers.java:320) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at mobile9.android.gallery.GalleryWallpapers$1.handleMessage(GalleryWallpapers.java:266) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4310) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) 04-19 18:51:44.927: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1034): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) My Code: public class GalleryWallpapers extends Activity implements Runnable { public static String MODEL = android.os.Build.MODEL ; • iPhone OS: Strategies for high density image work

    - by Jasconius
    I have a project that is coming around the bend this summer that is going to involve, potentially, an extremely high volume of image data for display. We are talking hundreds of 640x480-ish images in a given application session (scaled to a smaller resolution when displayed), and handfuls of very large (1280x1024 or higher) images at a time. I've already done some preliminary work and I've found that the typical 640x480ish image is just a shade under 1MB in memory when placed into a UIImageView and displayed... but the very large images can be a whopping 5+ MB's in some cases. This project is actually be targeted at the iPad, which, in my Instruments tests seems to cap out at about 80-100MB's of addressable physical memory. Details aside, I need to start thinking of how to move huge volumes of image data between virtual and physical memory while preserving the fluidity and responsiveness of the application, which will be high visibility. I'm probably on the higher ends of intermediate at Objective-C... so I am looking for some solid articles and advice on the following: 1) Responsible management of UIImage and UIImageView in the name of conserving physical RAM 2) Merits of using CGImage over UIImage, particularly for the huge images, and if there will be any performance gain 3) Anything dealing with memory paging particularly as it pertains to images I will epilogue by saying that the numbers I have above maybe off by about 10 or 15%. Images may or may not end up being bundled into the actual app itself as opposed to being loaded in from an external server.

  • Does GetSystemInfo (on Windows) always return the number of logical processors?

    - by mhughes
    Reading up on this, and specifically reading the Microsoft docs, it looks like it should be returning the number of PHYSICAL processors, and that you should use GetLogicalProcessorInformation to figure out how many LOGICAL processors you have. Here's the doc I found on the SYSTEM_INFO structure: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724958(v=VS.85).aspx And here's the doc on GetLogicalProcessorInformation: (spaces added to get through spam filter) http:// msdn.microsoft.com/ en-us/ library/ ms683194.aspx Reading up on it further though, in most of the discussions I've found on this topic, developers say to that GetSystemInfo (and the SYSTEM_INFO structure) report the number of LOGICAL processors. When I search again, I find that MS did release some info on this (and a hot fix), here (spaces added to get through spam filter): http:// support. microsoft.com/ kb/936235 Reading that, it sounds like on Xp, pre-service Pack 3, GetSystemInfo reports the number of LOGICAL processors in the SYSTEM_INFO structure. It also reads to me that on Windows Vista and Windows 7, GetSystemInfo should be reporting the number of PHYSICAL processors (different to Windows XP pre-service Pack 3). Does anyone know what it actually does? Does GetSystemInfo really report the number of physical processors (on the same computer) differently, depending on which OS it's running on?

  • Why can I query with an int but not a string here? PHP MySQL Datatypes

    - by CT
    I am working on an Asset Database problem. I receive $id from $_GET["id"]; I then query the database and display the results. This works if my id is an integer like "93650" but if it has other characters like "wci1001", it displays this MySQL error: Unknown column 'text' in 'where clause' All fields in tables are of type: VARCHAR(50) What would I need to do to be able to use this query to search by id that includes other characters? • Criteria for triggering garbage collection in .Net

    - by Kennet Belenky
    I've come across some curious behavior with regard to garbage collection in .Net. The following program will throw an OutOfMemoryException very quickly (after less than a second on a 32-bit, 2GB machine). The Foo finalizer is never called. class Foo { static Dictionary<Guid, WeakReference> allFoos = new Dictionary<Guid, WeakReference>(); Guid guid = Guid.NewGuid(); byte[] buffer = new byte[1000000]; static Random rand = new Random(); public Foo() { // Uncomment the following line and the program will run forever. // rand.NextBytes(buffer); allFoos[guid] = new WeakReference(this); } ~Foo() { allFoos.Remove(guid); } static public void Main(string args[]) { for (; ; ) { new Foo(); } } } If the rand.nextBytes line is uncommented, it will run ad infinitum, and the Foo finalizer is regularly invoked. Why is that? My best guess is that in the former case, either the CLR or the Windows VMM is lazy about allocating physical memory. The buffer never gets written to, so the physical memory is never used. When the address space runs out, the system crashes. In the latter case, the system runs out of physical memory before it runs out of address space, the GC is triggered and the objects are collected. However, here's the part I don't get. Assuming my theory is correct, why doesn't the GC trigger when the address space runs low? If my theory is incorrect, then what's the real explanation?

  • Hudson plugin problem

    - by user27644
    Hi. I've created almost the same plugin as JobTypeColumn. There is only one difference - it shows job description instead of job type. But after i can't add this column to my list view. I have an NullPointerException after i edited my config.xml manually. java.lang.NullPointerException at hudson.model.Descriptor.newInstancesFromHeteroList(Descriptor.java:626) at hudson.util.DescribableList.rebuildHetero(DescribableList.java:164) at hudson.model.ListView.submit(ListView.java:262) at hudson.model.View.doConfigSubmit(View.java:484) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function$InstanceFunction.invoke(Function.java:185) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function.bindAndInvoke(Function.java:101) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function.bindAndInvokeAndServeResponse(Function.java:54) at org.kohsuke.stapler.MetaClass$1.doDispatch(MetaClass.java:74) at org.kohsuke.stapler.NameBasedDispatcher.dispatch(NameBasedDispatcher.java:30) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:492) at org.kohsuke.stapler.MetaClass$6.doDispatch(MetaClass.java:180) at org.kohsuke.stapler.NameBasedDispatcher.dispatch(NameBasedDispatcher.java:30) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:492) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:408) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.service(Stapler.java:117) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:45) at winstone.ServletConfiguration.execute(ServletConfiguration.java:249) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.forward(RequestDispatcher.java:335) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:378) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter$1.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:94) at net.bull.javamelody.MonitoringFilter.doFilter(MonitoringFilter.java:304) at org.jvnet.hudson.plugins.monitoring.HudsonMonitoringFilter.doFilter(HudsonMonitoringFilter.java:31) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter$1.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:97) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:86) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at hudson.security.csrf.CrumbFilter.doFilter(CrumbFilter.java:47) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter$1.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:84) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:76) at hudson.security.HudsonFilter.doFilter(HudsonFilter.java:164) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.forward(RequestDispatcher.java:333) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.processRequest(RequestHandlerThread.java:244) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.run(RequestHandlerThread.java:150) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

  • MultiPath configuration on RHEL5 and Clariion CX-300

    - by Kamil Z
    I have problem with discovering my FC-connected CX-300 storage. Frankly speaking I'm complete novice in FibreChannel, so step by step explanation would be appreciated. My configuration consist of two IBM HS20 blades with RHEL5.4 on board and 2x Qlogic ISP2422-based 4Gb Fibre Channel HBAs on each blade. As a FC switch there are two Brocades built in BladeCenter Chassis, and finally there is EMC Clariion CX-300. CX300, and Brocade switches should be configured properly, because they were working fine with previous configuration, which main defference was RHEL3 instead RHEL5.4 Below there is my output from several usefull commands: #lspci | grep Fibre 06:01.0 FibreChannle: Qlogic Corp. ISP2422-based 4Gb Fibre Channel to PCI-X HBA (rev 02) 06:01.1 FibreChannle: Qlogic Corp. Do you have any suggestions about discovering FC Connected LUNs in such configuration?

  • laptop motherboard "shorts" when connected to adapter

    - by Bash
    Disclaimer: I'm sort of a noob, and this is a long post. Thank you all in advance! summary: completely dead laptop with no signs of life whatsoever (suddenly, for no apparent reason) Here's the deal: Lenovo Y470 (only a few months old with no water or shock damage). It stopped working suddenly (no lights, no sound, even when connecting adapter with or without battery). I tried a different adapter (same electrical rating), but no luck. I disassembled the thing completely, and tried plugging in the adapter and looking for signs of life with all different combinations of components installed (tried all combinations of RAM, CPU, USB power cords, screen, etc plugged in). no luck. Then, I noticed (as I was plugging in the adapter to try for the millionth time) that there was a "spark" for an instant when I first connect the adapter to the power jack. The adapter's LED would then flash (indicating it isn't working or charging). So, I thought the power jack has a short of some sort (due to bad soldering or something). Scanned virtually every single component on the motherboard, and tested the power jack connections with a multimeter. No shorts or damage to anything on the entire motherboard. Now I'm thinking I need to replace the motherboard. But, my actual question: What does this "shorting" when connecting the adapter signify? (btw, the voltage across the power connections and current through it drop to virtually zero when the adapter is connected and "sparks", and they stay that way). The bewildering thing is that there are no damaged components, and the voltage across adapter terminals returns to normal after I disconnect it (so it's not damaged). Please take a look at the pictures (of the motherboard's power connection and nearby components) and see if I'm missing something completely obvious...
