• Excel VBA: NetworkDays Error 2015

  Hi All, I have the this bit of code in a VBA class which is to workout the number of days between a property of the class (a date) and today’s date. Dim EmailDate As Date EmailDate = Me.Email.DateReceived Debug.Print EmailDate, Date Debug.Print NetworkDays(EmailDate), Date, Range("BankHolidays")) When I run it I get the following output 23/04/2010 19/05/2010 [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' < [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' -> '699990072' > Error 2015 I have tested it in a module, using dummy data, and get the correct answer. Can anyone see why this would be giving an error in a class? I have referenced atpvbaen.xls. Edit: I have found that when I run the code through a menu option I have created on the menu bar it fails, but when I run it via a button or through the VB Editor it works fine. Looks like it is something to do with the menu. Thanks, Martin

  I'm a newbie and need some help with an iPhone App running on the Simulator. The app works fine running with Build & Run or Build & Run - breakpoints off, but blows when running with Build & Debug - Breakpoints on. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Lon Specifics: No breakpoints set, never gets to any visible simulator results, seems to blow during initialization phase before it can generate any output. • How to install windows 7 from scratch on a disk which already contains partitions

  Hi, I have following partitions on a 1 TB disk. 14 GB UNKNOWN recovery partition 100MB NTFS System Reserved partition for Windows 7 448GB NTFS Windows 7 system partition 468GB NTFS Data partition for windows 7 Now because of the problems mentioned in my other question here I got a brand new windows 7 cd and want to install it from scratch after deleting all the extra partitions. But windows 7 installation doesn't give me such options. It refuses to touch the 14GB Recovery and 100 MB (reserved by previous windows 7) partition. Any ideas ? Note: Because of it is a dynamic disks most of the freely available tools refuse to delete the partitions on the disk. regards.

  My CloudFormation template creates an autoscale group and bootstrap it with utility script /opt/aws/bin/cfn-init.   Setting up a box for SQL Server 2008, which would give the best performance (heavy OLTP)? The more drives in a RAID-10 array the better performance, but will losing 4 drives to dedicate them to the transaction logs give us more performance. 12-drives in RAID-10 plus one hot spare. OR 8-drives in RAID-10 for database and 4-drives RAID-10 for transaction logs plus 2 hot spares (one for each array). We have 14-drive slots to work with and it's an older PowerVault that doesn't support global hot spares.

This is where the variable PT_FILESTOKEEP comes in. Whatever number this is set to thats the amount of backups I want to keep. All backups are time stamped so by ordering them by name DESC will give you the latest first. Can anyone please help me with the rest of the BASH script to add the clean up of files? My knowledge of BASH is lacking and I'm unable to piece together the code to do the rest.

  I am currently using xmodmap for remapping keys like Caps Lock on my keyboard. However, my keyboard has a bunch of keys on the top that are rarely used (Multimedia keyboard with buttons like Internet, Music, Next song, Mute etc) I want to remap these keys to specific commands (Not keys). For example: Pressing the Internet button should fire up my Firefox (/usr/bin/firefox)(which happens only in Windows for me) Also I need to map a specific button to xkill.   Hello Serverfault. First time I set up a SQL server, so I hope you can help me out. I have a problem regarding logging in using SQL auth on my SQL EXPRESS 2008. I have added a user though the management interface as you can see on the image below. But as soon as I try to login using SQL auth I get an error the login failed for the user. The server log says: Login failed for user 'zebisgaard'. Reason: Could not find a login matching the name provided. [CLIENT: <named pipe>] Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 5. Do you have an idea why? I have triple checked that the username/password is correct, tried to recreate the user and so much more. And all this is localhost.

  Firefox has a few different settings that automatically get tuned based on the system ram. This is all great if you're running nothing besides Firefox, but when you're running half a dozen apps at the same time and they all assume that they can take a decent chunk of mem it just kills the box. It actually runs smooth and takes less memory (including Windows) to run than having Firefox (or Chrome for that matter) run standalone. Install the 32 bit version of Firefox By installing the 32 bit version of firefox (apt-get install firefox:i386) the base memory usage is only about 50% of what it is with the 64 bit.

• Synaptics touchpad scroll doesn't work on many applications

  The Synaptics touchpad in my new laptop doesn't scroll at all in a number of applications, including Steam and Zune. I've narrowed the problem down to Synaptics not sending mouse wheel messages, but rather manipulating scroll bars. I'm only looking into one-finger side-of-touchpad scrolling, not two-finger scrolling. Is there a way to make it send wheel messages so that it is compatible with all applications? • Bacula not backing up all the files it should be doing

  I have Bacula (5.2) running on a Fedora 14 system backing up several different computers including Windows 7, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008. When backing up the Windows 2008 server the backup stops after a relatively small amount has been backed up and says the backup was okay. The fileset I am trying to backup should be around 323Gb, but it manages a mere 27Gb before stopping - but not erring. I did try creating a mount on the Fedora computer to the server I am trying to backup, and Bacula managed to copy 58Gb. When I tried to use the mount to copy the files manually I was able to copy them all - there are no problems with permissions etc. on the mount. Please can anyone give a reason why Bacula would just stop? I have heard there is a 260 character limit, but some of the files that should have been copy resolve to a shorter filename than some that have been backed up.

  I have multiple servers running CentOS 5.4 and only one application running on Java VM. I've configured the Java VM with the following arguments: java -Xmx4500M -server -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:NewSize=1024m -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote=true The machines I'm running the VM on has 6 GB RAM and no other applications running. After a while, the java process starts to hit the swap space really hard, I get this info out of the top command: 7658 root 25 0 11.7g 3.9g 4796 S 39.4 67.3 543:54.17 java On the other hand, if I connect via JConsole, it reports the Java VM has 2.6 GB used, 4.6 GB commited and 4.6 Gb max. java -version returns: java version "1.6.0_17" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode) Why is the Java VM expanding so much past it's allocated heap size? And where does that memory go, if it's not reported in JConsole?

• Implementing ZBar QR Code Reader in UIView

  I really need help here. I'm pretty new to iOS/Objective-C so sorry if the problem resolution is obvious or if my code is terrible. Be easy on me!! :-) I'm struggling to integrate ZBarSDK for reading QR Codes into an iPad app i'm building. If I use ZBarReaderController (of which there are plenty of tutorials and guides on implementing), it works fine. However I want to make the camera come up in a UIView as opposed to the fullscreen camera. Now I have gotten as far as making the camera view (readerView) come up in the UIView (ZBarReaderView) as expected, but I get an error when it scans a code. The error does not come up until a code is scanned making me believe this is either delegate related or something else. • Is it possible to implement bitwise operators using integer arithmetic?

  Hello World! I am facing a rather peculiar problem. I am working on a compiler for an architecture that doesn't support bitwise operations. However, it handles signed 16 bit integer arithmetics and I was wondering if it would be possible to implement bitwise operations using only: Addition (c = a + b) Subtraction (c = a - b) Division (c = a / b) Multiplication (c = a * b) Modulus (c = a % b) Minimum (c = min(a, b)) Maximum (c = max(a, b)) Comparisons (c = (a < b), c = (a == b), c = (a <= b), et.c.) Jumps (goto, for, et.c.) The bitwise operations I want to be able to support are: Or (c = a | b) And (c = a & b) Xor (c = a ^ b) Left Shift (c = a << b) Right Shift (c = a b) (All integers are signed so this is a problem) Signed Shift (c = a b) One's Complement (a = ~b) (Already found a solution, see below) Normally the problem is the other way around; how to achieve arithmetic optimizations using bitwise hacks. However not in this case. Writable memory is very scarce on this architecture, hence the need for bitwise operations. The bitwise functions themselves should not use a lot of temporary variables. However, constant read-only data & instruction memory is abundant. A side note here also is that jumps and branches are not expensive and all data is readily cached. Jumps cost half the cycles as arithmetic (including load/store) instructions do. On other words, all of the above supported functions cost twice the cycles of a single jump. Some thoughts that might help: I figured out that you can do one's complement (negate bits) with the following code: // Bitwise one's complement b = ~a; // Arithmetic one's complement b = -1 - a; I also remember the old shift hack when dividing with a power of two so the bitwise shift can be expressed as: // Bitwise left shift b = a << 4; // Arithmetic left shift b = a * 16; // 2^4 = 16 // Signed right shift b = a >>> 4; // Arithmetic right shift b = a / 16; For the rest of the bitwise operations I am slightly clueless. I wish the architects of this architecture would have supplied bit-operations. I would also like to know if there is a fast/easy way of computing the power of two (for shift operations) without using a memory data table. A naive solution would be to jump into a field of multiplications: b = 1; switch (a) { case 15: b = b * 2; case 14: b = b * 2; // ... exploting fallthrough (instruction memory is magnitudes larger) case 2: b = b * 2; case 1: b = b * 2; } Or a Set & Jump approach: switch (a) { case 15: b = 32768; break; case 14: b = 16384; break; // ... exploiting the fact that a jump is faster than one additional mul // at the cost of doubling the instruction memory footprint. case 2: b = 4; break; case 1: b = 2; break; }
