  • Setting up an IP Camera with silverlight

    I am trying to set up an IP camera and have it work through Silverlight I am using both Microsoft Expression and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I am able to do encoding with a usb connected web cam but I cannot find a way to use the encoder to connect to ip camera connected to our switch. Does anyone have experience setting up an ip camera to encode into the Silverlight framework?

  • Cannot build/create dll in Visual Studio because of admin rights??

    I have local admin rights on the PC I am using - but some things are not allowed i.e. I can't right click on My Computer and see the properties! Anyway I was trying to build my solution in Visual Studio - I just added a simple class library with barely any code in it and it won't build, it gives the error: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets(3019,9): error MSB3216: Cannot register assembly "C:\Documents and Settings\fooUser\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\FooSolution\Foo.Bar\bin\Debug\Foo.Bar.Utility.dll" - access denied. Please make sure you're running the application as administrator. Access to the registry key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Record' is denied. I take it I need FULL admin rights?? - although the project did compile before I made this class library - so I dont' understand why the addition of this library has had such a drastic effect now!

  • Facebook Oauth Logout

    I have an application that integrates with Facebook using Oauth 2. I can authorize with FB and query their REST and Graph APIs perfectly well, but when I authorize an active browser session is created with FB. I can then log-out of my application just fine, but the session with FB persists, so if anyone else uses the browser they will see the previous users FB account (unless the previous user manually logs out of FB also). The steps I take to authorize are: Call [LINK: graph.facebook.com/oauth/authorize?client_id...] This step opens a Facebook login/connect window if the user's browser doesn't already have an active FB session. Once they log-in to facebook they redirect to my site with a code I can exchange for an oauth token. Call [LINK: graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id..] with the code from (1) Now I have an Oauth Token, and the user's browser is logged into my site, and into FB. I call a bunch of APIs to do stuff: i.e. [LINK: graph.facebook.com/me?access_token=..] Lets say my user wants to log out of my site. The FB terms and conditions demand that I perform Single Sign Off, so when the user logs out of my site, they also are logged out of Facebook. There are arguments that this is a bit daft, but I'm happy to comply if there is any way of actually achieving that. I have seen suggestions that: A. I use the Javascript API to logout: FB.Connect.logout(). Well I tried using that, but it didn't work, and I'm not sure exactly how it could, as I don't use the Javascript API in any way on my site. The session isn't maintained or created by the Javascript API so I'm not sure how it's supposed to expire it either. B. Use [LINK: facebook.com/logout.php]. This was suggested by an admin in the Facebook forums some time ago. The example given related to the old way of getting FB sessions (non-oauth) so I don't think I can apply it in my case. C. Use the old REST api expireSession or revokeAuthorization. I tried both of these and while they do expire the Oauth token they don't invalidate the session that the browser is currently using so it has no effect, the user is not logged out of Facebook. I'm really at a bit of a loose end, the Facebook documentation is patchy, ambiguous and pretty poor. The support on the forums is non-existant, at the moment I can't even log in to the facebook forum, and aside from that, their own FB Connect integration doesn't even work on the forum itself.     I'm trying to iterate through an xml document using xsl:foreach but I need the select=" " to be dynamic so I'm using a variable as the source. When I use the msxsl:node-set() function though, my results are blank. I'm aware that I'm setting $DataPath to a string, but shouldn't the node-set() function be creating a node set from it? Am I missing something? When I don't use a variable: <xsl:for-each select="/Rating/Path1/*"> I get the proper results.   • ASP.NET MVC returning ContentResult using Ajax form - how to preserve whitespace?

    In my application users can enter commands that are executed on the server. The results are added to a session object. I then stuff the session object into ViewData and add it to a textarea. When done with a standard HTML form whitespace is preserved. However, when I swap this out for an ajax form (Ajax.BeginForm) and return the result as ContentResult, the whitespace is removed.     I have an app that I'm working on that polls usage from an ISP (Download quota). I've tried threading this via 'new Thread(ThreaProc)' but that didn't work, now trying an IAsyncResult based approach which does the same thing... I've got no idea on how to rectify, please help?     I have created a custom control inheriting TextBox. This custom control is a numeric TextBox, only supporting numbers. I am using OnPreviewTextInput to check each new character being typed to see if the character is a valid input. This works great. However, if I paste the text into the TextBox, OnPreviewTextInput is not fired. What is the best way to capture pasted text in a TextBox? Also, I have a problem when the back space is pressed, I can't figure out what event this will fire. OnPreviewTextInput is not fired! any ideas how to capture pasted text and back space events in WPF TextBox? Thanks

  • SFx Server Did Not Reply

    have the following problem : For a project I've tentatively created a Silverlight 5 web application and successfully integrated a WCF service. So far so good , in the Visual Studio 2012 environment everything works as intended. The data is processed. Now I wanted to see if it all works well on IIS 7.5 . When I called the test page and spoke to the WCF service Error 405 - Method not allowed occures. After searching I solved the problem with a module allocation for *.svc .                       So, then comes the error 405 although no longer , and the service also reports the status 200 - OK . Unfortunately, the application still does not work . Now this error is reported in Silverlight : The server doenst reply a meaningful response , which may be caused by a non- matching agreement , a premature session shutdown or an internal server error . No idea what I must adjust or change now. Have read on one of the few sites on the topic that is ClientConfig blame, as they would continue as a reference for the *.xap file is valid after publishing , and not used WebConfig ... But according to the error message above, it seems to be problem in the ServiceModel.dll ... Please , can anyone help me resolve this error? Thank you, Roland I uploaded my project.   • How do I overcome the "The symbolic link cannot be followed because its type is disabled." error whe

    Following on from a previous question, I am creating a symbolic link on a Server 2008 from a Vista machine using UNC paths. I can create the link just fine. I can go to the Server 2008 box and double click on the link in explorer to open the target file. What I cannot do though is use FileCreateW to get a handle to the UNC path link (from the Vista box). When I try it, it fails and GetLastError() returns error code 1463 (0x5B7), which is: The symbolic link cannot be followed because its type is disabled. Can anyone tell me how to enable its "type" in Server 2008 (assuming the error means what it says)?

  • Web Application Problems (web.config errors) HTTP 500.19 with IIS7.5 and ASP.NET v2

    This is driving the whole team crazy. There must be some simple mis-configured part of IIS or our Web Server, but every time we try to run out ASP.NET Web Application on IIS 7.5 we get the following error... Here's the error in full: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. `Detailed Error Information` Module IIS Web Core Notification Unknown Handler Not yet determined Error Code 0x8007000d Config Error Config File \\?\E:\wwwroot\web.config Requested URL http://localhost:80/Default.aspx Physical Path Logon Method Not yet determined Logon User Not yet determined Config Source -1: 0: The machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. We're developing our Web Application using Visual Studio 2008. According to Microsoft the code 8007000d means there's a syntax error in our web.config -- except the project builds and runs fine locally. Looking at the web.config in XML Notepad doesn't bring up any syntax errors, either. I'm assuming it must be some sort of poor configuration on my part...? Does anyone know where I might find further information about the error? Nothing is showing in EventViewer, either :( Not sure what else would be helpful to mention... Assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks! UPDATES! - POSTED WEB.CONFIG BELOW Ok, since I posted the original question above, I've tracked down the precise lines in the web.config that were causing the error. Here are the lines (they appear between <System.webServer> tags)... <httpHandlers> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </httpHandlers> Note: If I delete the lines between the <httpHandlers> I STILL get the error. I literally have to delete <httpHandlers> (and the lines inbetween) to stop getting the above error. Once I've done this I get a new 500.19 error, however. Thankfully, this time IIS actually tells me which bit of the web.config is causing a problem... <handlers> <remove name="WebServiceHandlerFactory-Integrated"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory,System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptHandlerFactoryAppServices" verb="*" path="*_AppService.axd" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </handlers> Looking at these lines it's clear the problem has migrated further within the same <system.webServer> tag to the <handlers> tag. The new error is also more explicit and specifically complains that it doesn't recognize the attribute "validate" (as seen on the third line above). Removing this attribute then makes it complain that the same line doesn't have the required "name" attribute. Adding this attribute then brings up ASP.NET error... Could not load file or assembly 'System.web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Obviously I think these new errors have just arisen from me deleting the <httpHandlers> tags in the first place -- they're obviously needed by the application -- so the question remains: Why would these tags kick up an error in IIS in the first place??? Do I need to install something to IIS to make it work with them? Thanks again for any help. WEB.CONFIG Here's the troublesome bits of our web.Config... Basically it records all the instructions the program ran, and allows you to easily look through the execution log. Is there a similar feature for open source tools?     Hey I'm trying to connect to my Wcf service which is configured using castles wcf facility. When I go to the service in a browser i get: Metadata publishing for this service is currently disabled. Which lists a load of instructions which i cant do because the configuration isnt in the web.config. when I try to connect using VS/add service reference i get: The HTML document does not contain Web service discovery information. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://s.ibzstar.com/userservices.svc'. Content Type application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8 was not supported by service http://s.ibzstar.com/userservices.svc. The client and service bindings may be mismatched. The remote server returned an error: (415) Cannot process the message because the content type 'application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8' was not the expected type 'text/xml; charset=utf-8'.. If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again. Anyone know what I need to do to get this working?     I've just read this great article on WCF ChannelFactory caching by Wenlong Dong. My question is simply how can you actually prove that the ChannelFactory is in fact being cached between calls? I've followed the rules regarding the ClientBase’s constructors. We are using the following overloaded constructor on our object that inherits from ClientBase: ClientBase(string endpointConfigurationName, EndpointAddress remoteAddress); In the article mentioned above it is stated that: For these constructors, all arguments (including default ones) are in the following list: · InstanceContext callbackInstance · string endpointConfigurationName · EndpointAddress remoteAddress As long as these three arguments are the same when ClientBase is constructed, we can safely assume that the same ChannelFactory can be used. Fortunately, String and EndpointAddress types are immutable, i.e., we can make simple comparison to determine whether two arguments are the same. For InstanceContext, we can use Object reference comparison. The type EndpointTrait is thus used as the key of the MRU cache. To test the ChannelFactory cache theory we are checking the Hashcode in the ClientBase constructor e.g. var testHash = RuntimeHelpers.GetHashCode(base.ChannelFactory); The hash value is different between calls which makes us think that the ChannelFactory isn't actually cached. We have a couple of Visual studio projects that other Visual Studio projects use. ex: Shared Project Project 1 Solution -Shared Project -Project 1 Project Project 2 Solution -Shared Project -Project 2 Project Also we have Third party code for example: Third Party -Telerik --2009.1.402.35 --2009.02.0701.35 When I open my "Project 1" solution i want my shared code project to be included in that solution. (thats the way we work today). We basically have one TFS Project that contains all the code. Now we want to use it the "right" (?) way, We would like to have Project 1 and 2 in separate TFS solutions. If I for example makes sure we have all our project in the same structure on disk and just add the shared project to my Project 1 solution (even if the projects reside in two different TFS Projects) would that work with builds? How have you solved the problem, I guess we are not the only ones having shared code between projects? Cheers /Jimmy

    I have a column like this in 1 of my database tables DateCreated, datetime, default(GetDate()), not null I am trying to use the Entity Framework to do an insert on this table like this... PlaygroundEntities context = new PlaygroundEntities(); Person p = new Person { Status = PersonStatus.Alive, BirthDate = new DateTime(1982,3,18), Name = "Joe Smith" }; context.AddToPeople(p); context.SaveChanges(); When i run this code i get the following error The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.\r\nThe statement has been terminated. So i tried setting the StoreGeneratedPattern to computed... same thing, then identity... same thing. Any ideas?

I keep getting the below error: StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily Company.ProjectCore.Core.IConfiguration, Company.ProjectCore, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null My Global.asax.cs looks like: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { var container = new Container(x => { x.For<ICache>().Use<Cache>(); x.For<IEmailService>().Use<EmailService>(); x.For<IUserSession>().Use<UserSession>(); x.For<IRedirector>().Use<Redirector>(); x.For<INavigation>().Use<Navigation>(); }); container.AssertConfigurationIsValid(); } I changed from ObjectFactory.Initialize to "new Container" to debug. When stepping through the AssertConfigurationIsValid() method, Cache works but EmailService fails at the GetInstance method in the following line: private readonly IConfiguration _configuration; public EmailService() { _configuration = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IConfiguration>(); } If I remove IEmailService, the same 202 error is thrown at IUserSession. Should I be adding something else in Application_Start or in my class files? Thanks in advance...

  • Spring Framework 3 and session attributes

    I have form object that I set to request in GET request handler in my Spring controller. First time user enters to page, a new form object should be made and set to request. If user sends form, then form object is populated from request and now form object has all user givern attributes. Then form is validated and if validation is ok, then form is saved to database. If form is not validated, I want to save form object to session and then redirect to GET request handling page. When request is redirected to GET handler, then it should check if session contains form object.   • What's the correct way to POST a compressed JSON string with RestSharp?

    I want to use RestSharp to POST something somewhere. I'm posting straight JSON (and not POCOs). Because I'm posting plain JSON, I believe I need to use this workaround instead of setting Body: request.AddParameter( "application/json", myJsonString, ParameterType.RequestBody); This works fine when I'm not compressing the JSON. When I do, using this: request.Headers.Add("Content-Encoding", "gzip"); request.AddParameter( "application/json", GZipStream.CompressString(myJsonString), ParameterType.RequestBody); This doesn't work. I stepped through the code and in RestClient::ConfigureHttp, I see: http.RequestBody = body.Value.ToString(); Since I'm giving at a byte array, body.Value is set to System.Byte[] Is there a way for RestSharp to handle a gzipped json string in a POST request?

  • Simplest way to get current time in current timezone using boost::date_time ?

    If I do date +%H-%M-%S on the commandline (Debian/Lenny), I get a user-friendly (not UTC, not DST-less, the time a normal person has on their wristwatch) time printed. What's the simplest way to obtain the same thing with boost::date_time ? If I do this: std::ostringstream msg; boost::local_time::local_date_time t = boost::local_time::local_sec_clock::local_time( boost::local_time::time_zone_ptr() ); boost::local_time::local_time_facet* lf( new boost::local_time::local_time_facet("%H-%M-%S") ); msg.imbue(std::locale(msg.getloc(),lf)); msg << t; Then msg.str() is an hour earlier than the time I want to see. I'm not sure whether this is because it's showing UTC or local timezone time without a DST correction (I'm in the UK). What's the simplest way to modify the above to yield the DST corrected local timezone time ? I have an idea it involves boost::date_time:: c_local_adjustor but can't figure it out from the examples.

  • How does one get UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() to work with iPhone OS SDK < 3.2

    Apple advises using the following code to detect whether running on an iPad or iPhone/iPod Touch: if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad) { // The device is an iPad running iPhone 3.2 or later. // [for example, load appropriate iPad nib file] } else { // The device is an iPhone or iPod touch. // [for example, load appropriate iPhone nib file] } The problem is that UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() and UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad are NOT defined in the SDKs priory to 3.2. This seems to completely defeat the purpose of such a function. They can only be compiled and run on iPhone OS 3.2 (iPhone OS 3.2 can only be run on iPad). So if you can use UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM(), the result will always be to indicate an iPad. If you include this code and target OS 3.1.3 (the most recent iPhone/iPod Touch OS) in order to test your iPhone-bound universal app code, you will get compiler errors since the symbols are not defined in 3.1.3 or earlier. If this is the recommended-by-Apple approach to runtime device-detection, what am I doing wrong? Has anyone succeeded using this approach to device-detection?
