• Why does a checkbox's "checked" attribute return the opposite of it's actual value on click event?

  I've got the following HTML <li><input type="checkbox" /><label>This is the label!</label></li> I bound a click event to the li, and let the click event bubble up to the li before doing anything else. $('li').each(function(i){ var item = $(this); var checkbox = $("input[type='checkbox']", item); item.bind('click', function(e){ var isChecked = checkbox.is(':checked'); console.log(isChecked); e.stopPropagation(); }); }); Starting with an unchecked checkbox, when the click event fires, isChecked returns true when I click on the checkbox, but returns false when I click on the label or li. Does anyone know why?

  Hello, I'm trying to serialize a very large IEnumerable<MyObject> using an XmlSerializer without keeping all the objects in memory. The IEnumerable<MyObject> is actually lazy.. I'm looking for a streaming solution that will: Take an object from the IEnumerable<MyObject> Serialize it to the underlying stream using the standard serialization (I don't want to handcraft the XML here!) Discard the in memory data and move to the next I'm trying with this code: using (var writer = new StreamWriter(filePath)) { var xmlSerializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyObject)); foreach (var myObject in myObjectsIEnumerable) { xmlSerializer.Serialize(writer, myObject); } } but I'm getting multiple XML headers and I cannot specify a root tag <MyObjects> so my XML is invalid.   Hi folks! I'm wondering if it is possible to use assigned variables as identifier in a json array. When I tried this, I was getting some unexpected results: (Code is simplified, parameters are passed in a different way) var parameter = 'animal'; var value = 'pony'; Util.urlAppendParameters (url, {parameter : value}); Util.urlAppendParameters = function(url, parameters) { for (var x in parameters) { alert(x); } } Now the alert popup says: 'parameter' instead of 'animal'. I know I could use a different method (creating an array and assigning every parameter on a new line), but I want to keep my code compact. So my question is: Is it possible to use a variable as an identifier in the json array, and if so, could you please tell me how? Thanks in advance!

• Google Vizualization with CSV data

  Hi, I have a URL that returns data in CSV format. I would like to use Google Vizualization to create an interactive chart of the data. I've looked at several examples on Google Chart and Vizualization web page but I'm a bit confused as I'm not familiar with JavaScript or web programming in general. Question: Do I have to use JavaScript to parse the CSV string myself and manually construct the DataTable with addColumn() and addRows()? Or, is there a way to simply pass the CSV url to the charting function? I'm hoping to do something like this: var csv_data = get_data_from_url('http://...') var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(csv_data); var chart = new google.visualization.PieChart(document.getElementById('chart_div')); chart.draw(data, ...); Can someone please help me out? • AutoCompleteExtender positioning menu incorrectly when scrolled

  We have an AutoCompleteExtender linked to a TextBox. Both controls are placed inside an UpdatePanel, and the UpdatePanel is displayed as a pop-up dialog using a Javascript library (Ext.BasicDialog). The pop-up is a div on the page, not a separate window. The problem is that when the user scrolls inside the pop-up, the AutoCompleteExtender shows its menu in the wrong place. It looks like it is taking the visible distance from the top of the popup and positioning the menu from the top of the inner html of the popup (which is not visible) We are using Version 1.0.20229.20821 of the AjaxControlToolkit, and we are targetting ASP.NET Framework vewrsion 2.0.   Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

  Hello, I am using LINQ-To-Entities in C# and run queries against a SQL Compact Server 3.5 SP2. What I try to achieve is a simple group by with an additional where clause which includes a Count(). var baseIdent="expression"; var found=from o in ObservedElements where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent==baseIdent group o by o.ID into grouped where grouped.Count()==1 select new {key=grouped.Key, val=grouped}; foreach(var res in found){ //do something here } This query throws the famous exception "A parameter is not allowed in this location. Ensure that the '@' sign and all other parameters are in a valid location in the SQL statement." When I either omit the where clause OR directly enter the expression "expression" in the query (where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent=="expression") everything just works fine. Does anybody know how to solve this? Workaround would also be fine? Thanks in advance, Sebastian

  I'm trying to add a cuepoint to a video using OSMF. I built an OSMF video player, and I'd like to use this instead of the FLVPlayback component, which seems like the only way to add an actionscript cuepoint? Anyhow, I created a cuepoint by writing this: var cuePoint:CuePoint = new CuePoint(CuePointType.ACTIONSCRIPT, 1, "good point", null); videoElement.addEventListener(MediaElementEvent.METADATA_ADD, onMetadataAdd); trace(cuePoint.time); The cuepoint time traced out to "1" (successful).   I have a VPS and I want to make mysql DB accept connection externally (from my PC for instance). I have Debian Linux installed on the server. I checked some tutorials online and they said to comment out: bind-address = 127.0.0.1 But this didn't seem to help! is there anything specific for VPSs? or Am I missing something else?   Hi, I'm trying to make some "social share" buttons at my site, but the urls I generate just don't get decoded by this services.   I am trying to create a UserDon object, and trying to generate the get and set methods programmatically ( based on Pro Javascript book by John Resig page 37 ), and am testing this on Firefox 3.5 The problem is: in function UserDon, "this" refers to the window object instead of the UserDon object. So after calling var userdon = new UserDon(...) I got setname and getname methods created on the window object (also setage and getage). • Maven2 compiles my tests, but doesn't run them

  I have a simple Maven2 project with tests written for TestNG. When I say mvn test Maven2 compiles my test, but don't run them.   Hi guys. Trying to fiddle around with regex here, my first attempt. Im trying to extract some figures out of content from an XML tag. The content looks like this: www.blahblah.se/maps.aspx?isAlert=true&lat=51.958855252721&lon=-0.517657021473527 I need to extract the lat and long numerical vales out of each link. They will always be the same amount of characters, and the lon may or may not have a "-" sign.   I have built a class in Mootools and extended it twice, such that there is a grandparent, parent, and child relationship: var SomeClass1 = new Class({ initialize: function() { // Code }, doSomething: function() { // Code } }); var SomeClass2 = new Class({ Extends: SomeClass1, initialize: function() { this.parent(); }, doSomething: function() { this.parent(); // Some code I don't want to run from Class3 } }); var SomeClass3 = new Class({ Extends: SomeClass2, initialize: function() { this.parent(); }, doSomething: function() { this.grandParent(); } }); From Class3, the child, I need call the doSomething() method from Class1, the grandparent, without executing any code in Class2#doSomething(), the parent. What I need is a grandParent() method to complement the Mootools parent(), but it appears that one does not exist. What's the best way to accomplish this in either Mootools or pure JavaScript?
