• jQuery doesn't fire some events while I'm not logged in (Joomla)

  So basically, .resize function fails until I log in. What does that mean? And how that can be fixed? Almost all other functions work fine. The site is still in developement, so no live version sadly.   At the moment, I've got a JSON file with content looking like this: { "username": "test", "someNumber":100 } I'm using JSON.Net to fetch the .JSON file from a webserver - C#: var http = new HttpClient(); http.MaxResponseContentBufferSize = Int32.MaxValue; var response = await http.GetStringAsync(URI); var result = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<DatClass.Result>(response); This works great together with the class getting/setting the properties. However, what I would like to know is whether there's a good way for a user to update the .JSON file through a textbox UI? As in: [textbox - update username] [update button] - username sent to server - .JSON file updated - [textblock - showing updated username in UI]. I'm not looking for exact code solutions, I'm rather looking for good solutions on this, and/or if this is a terrible idea of an easy database(?).

• Changing the width of dropdown area in flex combobox.

  I have a combobox which gets populated by a remote method. I need to set the dropdownwidth of the combobox to the maximum length of the item in the combobox. I am able to achieve it by the following code. But if the resolution of the screen changes, the result is not similar. • IE 8 prompts user on "slow" jQuery script

  I have a form with over 100 list items that I must reorder on submit. The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"   hi, In a form I have multiple group of controls which are grouped using validation group property. I want to assign validation group to asp.Button dynamically on client side using javascript on the base of item selected in drop down list. Here is JavaScript which I am using, but it is not working. It shows validation group undefined but actually a default group is defined. And then if I close .menu-item a so... #menu-2 open. How can I do to fix?

• How to save an image in it's original format?

  I am trying to figure out how I can get the original format of an image so that I can store it with the same encoding. It seems that the only way to save an Image is by using a BitmapEncoder but I don't know how I can get the correct format from the image. Example: Clipboard.GetImage() returns a InteropBitmap which doesn't seem to contain any information about the original format. I also tried using an Extension method: public static void Save(this BitmapImage image, System.IO.Stream stream) { var decoder = BitmapDecoder.Create(image.StreamSource, BitmapCreateOptions.PreservePixelFormat, BitmapCacheOption.Default); var encoder = BitmapEncoder.Create(decoder.CodecInfo.ContainerFormat); foreach (var frame in decoder.Frames) { encoder.Frames.Add(BitmapFrame.Create(decoder.Frames[0])); } encoder.Save(stream); } but the problem is that a) the ImageSource is not always a BitmapImage (Clipboard.GetImage()) for example and b) the image.StreamSource can be null in some cases (seems to be when the image is loaded via a relative Uri)

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to load the maptype into the google.maps.MapTypeId which is frustrating. • Rewriting .each() loop as for loop to optimize, how to replicate $(this).attr()

  I running into some performance issues with a jquery script i wrote when running in ie so I'm going through it trying to optimize any way possible. Apparently using for loops is way faster than using the jQuery .each method. This has led me to a question regarding the equivalent of $(this) inside a for loop. I'm simplifying what I'm doing in my loop down to just using an attr() function as it gets across my main underlying question. Im doing this with each(simplified) var existing = $('#existing'); existing.each(function(){ console.log($(this).attr('id')); }); And I've tried rewriting it as a for loop as such: var existing = $('#existing'); for(var i = 0;i < existing.length;i++) { console.log(existing[i].attr('id')); } Its throwing an error saying: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<HTMLDivElement> has no method 'attr' Thanks.
