    A simple google search for: CGRect + C or CGRect in C brings back only Apple, iPhone, and Objective-C websites. However, I remember hearing that Core Graphics was part of C at my university. Did I hear incorrectly, or is CGRect something that I can use in C, or even C++ as it's Object oriented?

  • Javascript - innerHTML not working with HTML select menus

    Hi guys, In my HTML page I have 2 select menus with IDs "month" and "day" - "day" is empty when the page loads, "month" has 12 options with values 1-12 corresponding to January - December. "month" has an onchange event which calls this function: function showOutboundDays(month) { if(month==4 || month==6 || month==9 || month==11) document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option>'; etc. up to 30 else if(month==2) document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option>'; etc. up to 28 else document.getElementById('day').innerHTML='<option value="1">1</option>'; etc. up to 31 } (just imagine there are braces around the option tags to help you see...) I think it's pretty clear to see what I'm trying to achieve...and everything works fine apart from the innerHTML of the select with ID "day" doesn't get filled at all, regardless of what month you pick. And I know the problem is with this stage of the function because when I change the if, elseif and else code-to-be-executed to alerts or something similar, it works fine. Does anybody know what the problem with the innerHTML is? Thanks EDIT: Using Firefox 3.6

How do I get the top and left style property values (or X and Y coordinates) of each link in the array with Javascript when those values aren't given? Also, what would the code above look like in jquery? Not that it's needed - I just want to reduce the code a little and dabble in the jquery framework (I'm a Javascript newbie).   • Mouse bugginess - SWFObject, Firefox 3 for Mac, and Flash

    I'm pulling my hair out over a problem I'm encountering on Firefox 3.5 & 3.6 on OS X. I'm using SWFobject to embed an AmMap of the US, which has rollover tooltips for various states. The rollovers are working fine in every other browser I've tested, but they're very buggy on FF for Mac--most of the time they don't show up at all, but if I persistently click a state that's supposed to have a hover event, I might catch a glimpse of the tooltip. Here's the code for the SWFObject embed (incidentally, this isn't being done in the document head due to templating reasons). The reason that the SWFObject initialization is wrapped in Jquery's document.ready handler is that the swf wasn't even appearing in FF 3.5.9 for mac until I added that in: $(document).ready(function() { var params = { quality: "high", scale: "noscale", allowscriptaccess: "always", allowfullscreen: "true", bgcolor: "#FFFFFF", base:"/<?php print LANG .   • Can I create template-based library objects in Dreamweaver CS5?

    At work we need two 'streams' of template. The first are general layout templates, like the ones already available in the MX through CS5 packages (except we'd have our own customised ones). The second are more granular objects, some of which are functional. In both cases, I don't want Jimmy to be able to wreak havoc inside anything other than the 'editable regions' which make up the templates. Now this is fine if I stick with the first scenario (layout templates) where there's simply a big chunk of editable region for good ole Jim to sprawl into, think of this as the 'body content' area. But I really do need these granular library (or snippet) objects to work in the same way. Unfortunately with my attempts so far they don't work as I'd have thought - perhaps for good reason? When I create a blank template and throw in my chunk of HTML (unobstrusive JS and external CSS use selectors in this HTML to provide style and function) and save it as a new library item or snippet, all looks well. Then I create a new document based on a layout template and save it as a plain html file (still all good so far). Next I drop in my custom library item... still all good... but then I go to save the document and it only allows me to save it as a new template! I expected it would just allow me to save it as HTML and have it simply respect the defined editable regions, as happens in the containing page 'body content' editable region. Apologies if that got specific and technical quite quickly, but it is quite particular. If you want some example files lemme know and I'll zip some up. Many thanks :) p.s It is not a requirement that library objects must somehow inject their dependency files into the newly created page - I already know what they'll be. Also, I know I must 'detatch from original' once I drop a library item into a document which then allows customisation of the library object.

  • What version control system is best designed to *prevent* concurrent editing?

    We've been using CVS (with TortoiseCVS interface) for years for both source control and wide-ranging document control (including binaries such as Word, Excel, Framemaker, test data, simulation results, etc.). Unlike typical version control systems, 99% of the time we want to prevent concurrent editing - when a user starts editing a file, the pre-edit version of the file becomes read only to everyone else. Many of the people who will be using this are not programmers or even that computer savvy, so we're also looking for a system that let's people simply add documents to the repository, check out and edit a document (unless someone else is currently editing it), and check it back in with a minimum of fuss. We've gotten this to work reasonably well with CVS + TortoiseCVS, but we're now considering Subversion and Mercurial (and open to others if they're a better fit) for their better version tracking, so I was wondering which one supported locking files most transparently. For example, we'd like exclusive locking enabled as the default, and we want to make it as difficult as possible for someone to accidentally start editing a file that someone else has checked out. For example when someone checks out a file for editing, it checks with the master database first even if they have not recently updated their sandbox. Maybe it even won't let a user check out a document if it's off the network and can't check in with the mothership.

I'm using jquery to get an already existing script declared inside the page, inside a createDocument() element, from an AJAX call. Now, inside this "script_content", there are auto executing functions, like $(document).ready(function(){...}) that, everything I "eval" the innerHTML, it executes this code, halting my encapsulated script. like variables that doesn't exist, etc removing certain parts of the script using regex isn't really an option... what I really wanted is to "walk" inside the function. like do a (completely fictional): script = eval("function(){" + script_content + "};"); alert(script['local_xw_sig']); // a03ucc34095cw3495 is there any way to 'disassemble' the function, and be able to reach the "var"s inside of it? like this function: function hello(){ var message = "hello"; } alert(hello.message); // message = var inside the function is it possible at all? or I will have to hack my way using regex? ;P [2] also, is there any way I can access javascript inside a document created with "createDocument"?

  • Using a version control system as a data backend

    I'm involved in a project that, among other things, involves storing edits and changes to a large hierarchical document (HTML-formatted text). We want to include versioning of textual changes and of structural changes. Currently we're maintaining the tree of document sections in a relational database, but as we start working on how to manage versioning of structural changes, it's clear that we're in danger of having to write a lot of the functionality that a version control system provides. We don't want to reinvent the wheel. Is it possible that we could use an existing version control system as the data store, at least for the document itself? Presumably we could do so by writing out new versions to the filesystem, and keeping that directory under version control (and programmatically doing commits and so forth) but it would be better if we could directly interact with the repository via code. The VCS that we are most familiar with is Subversion, but I'm not thrilled with how Subversion represents changes to the directory structure -- it would be nice if we could see that a particular revision included moving a section from Chapter 2 to Chapter 6, rather than just seeing a new version of the tree. This sounds more like the way a system like Mercurial handles changes to the structure. Any advice? Do VCS's have public APIs and so forth? The project is in Java (with Spring) if it matters.

  • Setting CommandTarget to selected control in a TabControl

    I have a WPF window with a few buttons and a tabcontrol having a tab for each 'document' the user is working on. The tabcontrol uses a DataTemplate to render the data in ItemSource of the tabcontrol. The question: If one of the buttons is clicked, the command should be executed on the control rendering the document in the active tab, but I've no idea what I should set CommandTarget to. I tried {Binding ElementName=nameOfControlInDataTemplate} but that obviously doesn't work.     I'm transforming XML to an HTML document. In this document I want to embed XML markup for a node that was just transformed (the HTML document is a technical spec). For example, if my XML was this: <transform-me> <node id="1"> <stuff type="floatsam"> <details>Various bits</details> </stuff> </node> </transform-me> I'd want my XSLT output to look something like this: <h1>Node 1</h1> <h2>Stuff (floatsam)</h2> Various bits <h2>The XML</h2> &lt;stuff type=&quot;floatsam&quot;&gt; &lt;details&gt;Various bits&lt;/details&gt; &lt;/stuff&gt; I'm hoping there is an XSLT function that I can call in my <stuff> template to which I can pass the current node (.) and get back escaped XML markup for <stuff> and all its descendants. I have a feeling unparsed-text() might be the way to go but can't get it to work.

    I am looking into the possibility/feasibility/resources for building a cross compiler which takes a procedural or Object Oriented language like C, or Java and compiling it into SQL. I understand that the advantage of SQL code is performing set operations which is fundamentally different from procedural languages which generally process 1 at a time.   • Photoshop CS5 not recognising activeDocument

    I wrote a quite big script for Photoshop CS5.1 on my 64bit Vista machine. Now when I run the very same script on my new 64bit Windows 7 machine, Adobe ExtendScript Tool complains about activeDocument (no such element) in this simple script: #target photoshop var pDoc = app.activeDocument; alert("Done!"); I have tried both and without #target and choosing the target in the ExtendedScript Tool. Is there something I have missed, or do I need to install something more. I only installed the 64bit version of Photoshop. Is it so that the 32bit Photoshop has the script extensions? I don't see why I need to install both 32bit and 64bit versions if I'm only going to use the 64bit version. EDIT I installed the 32bit version as well. Tried the same script against 32 and 64 bit, still no difference. SOLVED The mystery is solved. It is embarrassing simple if you interpret the error message more careful. Of course I can't get an activeDocument if there are no documents in Photoshop, duh!?! I interpreted it as the statement activeDocument wasn't recognised, but of course if I have no document there is no such element (as a photoshop document) to give me. I'm used to C++ and would expect the reuslt to be a NULL value or similar if there is a problem to get the document... excuses, excuses ;) Well, if someone else should get into the same problem, here is the answer on my expense :D

    I have a composite User control for entering dates: The CustomValidator will include server sided validation code. I would like the error message to be cleared via client sided script if the user alters teh date value in any way. To do this, I included the following code to hook up the two drop downs and the year text box to the validation control: <script type="text/javascript"> ValidatorHookupControlID("<%= ddlMonth.ClientID%>", document.getElementById("<%= CustomValidator1.ClientID%>")); ValidatorHookupControlID("<%= ddlDate.ClientID%>", document.getElementById("<%= CustomValidator1.ClientID%>")); ValidatorHookupControlID("<%= txtYear.ClientID%>", document.getElementById("<%= CustomValidator1.ClientID%>")); </script> However, I would also like the Validation error to be cleared when the user clicks the clear button. When the user clicks the Clear button, the other 3 controls are reset. To avoid a Post back, the Clear button is a regular HTML button with an OnClick event that resets the 3 controls. Unfortunately, the ValidatorHookupControlID method does not seem to work on HTML controls, so I thought to change the HTML Button to an ASP button and to Hookup to that control instead. However, I cannot seem to eliminate the Postback functionality associated by default with the ASP button control. I tried to set the UseSubmitBehavior to False, but it still submits. I tried to return false in my btnClear_OnClick client code, but the code sent to the browser included a DoPostback call after my call. btnClear.Attributes.Add("onClick", "btnClear_OnClick();") Instead of adding OnClick code, I tried overwriting it, but the DoPostBack code was still included in the final code that was sent to the browser. What do I have to do to get the Clear button to clear the CustomValidator error when clicked and avoid a postback? btnClear.Attributes.Item("onClick") = "btnClear_OnClick();"
