• Android views' borders issue on some devices

  Hi there, Some users have been reporting border alignment issues on some android components such as the alert popup or the editTexts. This is happening on the Samsung Galaxy Apollo (200x400) and the HTC Pro Touch (480x640) devices. I cannot replicate that because i don't own those devices and in the Samsung Galaxy S and emulator everything looks just right. I think that the problem is the dpi or resolution of the device (because the edittext background is a single .9.png so image should look ok); however I am not sure if the supports-screens tag is the solution. Also, application was developed using Api 3 (v1.5) and supports-screens was not yet supported, nor the screen-size resource qualifier. The style used for the alerts and editText is the phone default. Could the problem be something related with the theme applied to the phone by the user? • html form using input as a submit button

  Hello onlookers, A web site I've been using has some interesting behavior... There is a form, but there is no button for submission. Instead, there is an input: <input id="ctl00_pageContent_loginButton" type="image" style="border-width: 0px;" alt="Login" src="images/btn_login.gif" name="ctl00$pageContent$loginButton"/> and when you hover over it the cursor turns into a hand, like an anchor tag -- however I do not see any css (in firebug) showing that the input should have a hover attribute. Further, the input does not have any sign of being an actual link/submission button. I'm stumped -- would love to know how they were able to do this.   I am trying to download the html file using the ul of the page. I am using Jsoup.   In my MainWindow.xaml, I have the following reference to a ResourceDictionary: <Window.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="MainSkin.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Window.Resources> In MainSkin.xaml, I define a datatemplate: <DataTemplate x:Key="TagTemplate"> ... </DataTemplate> Deeper within my application, I attempt to use this data template: <ContentControl DataContext="{Binding Tag}" ContentTemplate="{StaticResource TagTemplate}"/> The code compiles successfully, but when I attempt to load a Page or UserControl that contains this StaticResource, I get an exception saying that the TagTemplate can't be found. What am I doing wrong?

• finding an adjacent node in xml through xpath

  i have a deeply nested structure (actually parsing out xhtml, so lots of nasty), like so: <tr> <td> <font id="blah"> stuff </font> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> more stuff </td> </tr> and this repeats in a long table. i need an xpath expression that will select the second font tag (or rather it's text()). i was looking at the preceding-sibling axis, but something isn't quite working right. something along the lines of (and pardon me if this is ridiculous, my xpath is rusty) //tr[preceding-sibling::tr/td/font/b]/td/text()

• Normalise this Table?

  Hello all, I am creating a social bookmarking app. I am having a re-thought of the DB design in the middle of development. Should I normalise the bookmarks table and remove the tag columns that I have into a separate table. I have 10 tags per bookmark and therefore 10 columns per record (per bookmark). It seems to me that breaking the table into two would just mean I would have to do a join but the way I currently have it, its a straight select - but the table doesn't feel right...? Thanks all

• Multiline Find & Replace in Visual Studio

  Can it be done? We're using either VS2005 or VS2008. I don't mean regular expressions - which have their place - but plain old text find & replace. I know we can do it (at a pinch) with regular expressions using the \n tag but prefer not to get tangled up in regex escapes characters, plus there's a readability issue. If it can't be done what plain and simple (free) alternative are people using? That doesn't involve knocking up our own macro.

  How can I set the default namespace of an existing XDocument (so I can deserialize it with DataContractSerializer). I tried the following: var doc = XDocument.Parse("<widget/>"); var attrib = new XAttribute("xmlns", "http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/Widgets"); doc.Root.Add(attrib); The exception I get is is The prefix '' cannot be redefined from '' to 'http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/Widgets' within the same start element tag. • How can I change the filename of a shared library after building a program that depends on it?

  I have a program that depends on a shared library it expects to find deep inside a directory structure. I'd like to move that shared library out and into a better place. On OS X, this can be done with install_name_tool. I'm unable to find an equivalent for Linux. For reference, readelf -d myprogram spits out the following paraphrased output: Dynamic section at offset 0x1e9ed4 contains 30 entries: Tag Type Name/Value 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [this/is/terrible/library.so] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libGL.so.1] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libGLU.so.1] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libstdc++.so.6] and I would like to errata "this/is/terrible/library.so" to be "shared/library.so".   So I'm writing an app that lets the user select a folder, it gets all the .aspx files in that folder, and lets the users check off which ones they want to add HTML ID's to. How do I open each of these .aspx files in the background, and go through them and add the id="thisItemId" attribute to each tag that's like a , , , , , etc....

• Is it ok to hardcode dynamic links in a permanent view?

  Let's say I wanted to showcase 2-3 clickable buttons on my homepage which will be there permanently. These are links to the css, html, and javascript tag listing pages. Is it fine to just hardcode href=/tags/css and href=/tags/html right in my django templates/view? I won't change them for at least a year or so, meaning I don't think I need to add a column to the tags table to distinguish them - is this common or should I try to make it somewhat dynamic? These tags are in a table but so are 1000 other tags.

  I would like to have this piece of code in my .aspx file: <input class="ms-ButtonHeightWidth" type="button" name="BtnOK" id="Button2" value="Close" onclick="javascript:HandleOKButtonClick()" accesskey="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> Unfortunately, ASP.net doesn't seem to like that: An error occurred during the processing of /_layouts/MyPage/Info.aspx. Literal expressions like '<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>' are not allowed. Use <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> instead That doesn't work in this situation as that would mean nesting the Literal between the quotes of the accesskey attribute, which causes a "The tag contains duplicate 'ID' attributes" error. Is there a way to use a string from a resource without having to change the input to an asp:Button? I guess there has to be a way using <%=, but I don't know how I would address the resource itself?

• How can I tell when changes to jquery html() have finished ?

  I'm using jQuery to change the HTML of a tag, and the new HTML can be a very long string. $("#divToChange").html(newHTML); I then want to select elements created in the new HTML, but if I put the code immediately following the above line it seems to create a race condition with a long string where the changes that html() is making may not necessarily be finished rendering. In that case, trying to select the new elements won't always work. What I want to know is, is there an event fired or some other way of being notified when changes to html() have finished rendering ? I came across the jQuery watch plugin, which works alright as workaround but it's not ideal. Is there a better way ?

• Get the tags of a document in Subversion

  I was wondering if there is a way to easily see the tags of a specific file in Subversion using the command line and/or TortoiseSVN. Most version control system allow you to see easily access the tags/labels of a file. When using TortoiseSVN I can do this when I access the "Revision Graph". This however is a operation that takes around 44 minutes. I consider this very hard work just to know what tags have been created for the file. Is there another way to do it? Or is there no way to instantaneously access tag information. Thanks, Onno

Looks like Ajax is the way to proceed but I'm having a problem getting the setup to work.   Hi all. We have been using EHCache with CF8 for a while now with no issues. We are now moving to CF 9 and it seems that the baked-in version of EHCache with CF 9 is actually conflicting with our EHCache setup. So is there: Any way to disable the baked-in version of EHCache? This would be a temporary solution. If we use the CF9 baked-in caching, is there any way to specify more than one cache in ehcache.xml and most importantly, to put into that specific cache via the tag? Many thanks in advance.

The test should be done when the focus is lost or after every key type. And of course after the submit button has been clicked. It doesn't work. Firefox error console says something like: unknown pseudoclass or pseudoelement 'input'. What does this mean?
