• Extending a Java Swing class in Clojure

  I'm trying to extend a Java Swing component in Clojure, i.e. I want to extend a javax.swing.JComponent and add some custom methods implemented in pure Clojure in addition to all the standard inherited methods. I've tried using "proxy" which works great if I just want a single instance (in the same way as an anonymous inner class). However I'd really like a named class so that I can generate an arbitrary number of instances. What's the recommended way of doing this?

• ASP.NET MVC: How to create a basic Pseudo Viewstate? Or better solution?

  I am newish to MVC and understand all the great things about it, including the reasons why voewstate isnt available, however there are some circumstances where I think having some kind of view state will be quite handy, In my case I am thinking about list pages with various search filters that can be applied to the list. Would it be worthwhile implementing some kind of pseudo viewstate to hold this info in some cases? or is there a better solution? Any examples out there? Your comments appreciated.

  I am having problem with setting a new Drawable to my ProgressBar. If I use the setProgressDrawable() inside onCreate() method it works great. But when I try to call the same method inside a Handler post callback it doesn't work and the progressbar disapears. Can someone explain this behaviour? How can I solve this problem?

  I often use Excel with pivot tables based on .cub files for OLAP-type analysis. This is great except when you want to move the xls and you realise internally it's got a non-relative reference to the location of the .cub file. How can we cope with this - ie make it convenient to move around xls files that depend on .cub files? The best answer I could come up with is writing a macro that updates the pivot tables' reference to the .cub file location....so I'll pop that in an answer.

  I'm trying to append to a char[] array that contains blank spaces on the end. The char array for example contains the characters 'aaa'. When I append the first time the method functions properly and outputs 'aaabbb'. The initial capacity of the array is set to 80 or multiples of 80. The second time I try and append my output looks like"aaabbb bbb". Any psuedocode would be great.

  When doing a git tag, I'm not always great at remembering if HEAD~6 (for example) is inclusive or exclusive. Given that most of my commits are prefixed with an issue number, I wondered if there is some magic command for searching for the commit SHA from part of its message. I know it's easy to do a git log and work from there, but I want more easy :)

My requirements for the random number generator are not very onerous - its not important that it pass a great battery of statistical tests of pure randomness. It would be great if I could view what Types/Instances are registered in the container, but I can't see where this is stored when using QuickWatch.   Hello, i think the fullcalendar jquery-plugin is a really great solution. i saw does the string for the title in the fullcalender plugin is escaped (htmlEscape). But i need to format some strings in the title for example bold text or colors, or small images? the solution with another plugin (for example qTip, like in the examples) will not the right way for me. is there anyway to format the title text?
