• setup Zyxel USG 20W as L2TP VPN Server

  I've a Zywall USG 20W (wireless disabled) behind a router supplied by the ISP. All ports (both TCP and UDP) on the ISP router are forwarded to the 20W. I'm trying to configure an L2TP VPN to be used by Windows Xp / 7 with Microsoft native client. This was working before with a different firewall, so I'm pretty sure that all the required packets are flowing to the 20W. I followed a tutorial from the italian Zyxel Website, but I cannot get the VPN to work. Always cannot pass phase 2, and I see the following on the log: [ID]: Tunnel [Default_L2TP_VPN_Connection] Phase 2 local policy mismatch Phase 1 goes fine. In Windows the error is always 788. This happens regardless the proposals I set in the phase 1 and 2 setting. What should I check ? Is there any way to get more detailed diagnostic info (policy mismatch is too generic) ?   I currently have a Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop connected to a 24" HP monitor (w2448hc). Im thinking on getting a second one, however am wondering what i need for the setup (hardware wise). Also I was wondering it there is any down side to it, or something i should be aware of. For example, image quality loss, GPU overloading, or anything important I should know. More than anything Im interested in your advice. Also the monitors do have built in speakers (HDMI sound output), is the sound going to be reproduced by only one monitor or both? • Setting CATALINA_OPTS for tomcat6 on windows doesn’t work.

  (I've copied this from Stack Overflow here, after someone suggested I post the question here) Hi, I'm trying to setup Tomcat6 to work with JMX on Windows Vista 64. To do that I need to pass the parameters below to Tomcat6. What I do in command prompt. (that doesn't work) set CATALINA_OPTS="-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=9898 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false" tomcat6.exe What I do that does work (but causes other problems) java -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=9898 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false -jar bootstrap.jar It seems as if tomcat is just ignoring the environment variable CATALINA_OPTS. Am I doing something wrong? I've also tried to edit catalina.bat and define the variable CATALINA_OPTS there. No success. • Red 5, First setup "ssl_error_rx_record_too_long" error message

  I am using Windows 7 and I installed Red 5 0.9.1 just recently. After it installed I put 127.0.0.1 as the IP adress and 5080 as http port. After I start the service in windows I try to connect to the localhost in firefox (http://localhost:5080) and get this error An error occurred during a connection to localhost:5080. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) I checked my global flash settings and allowed localhost to pass along with the Red 5 folder in C/programfiles/red5. I currently have the up to date versions of JDK and JRE also. Any tips on what might be wrong?

Now the former switch send the later switch a 802.1Q-tagged Ethernet frame. What should the later switch do? Drop the frame? Forward the frame? Undefined behavior? • Kickstart installation: Unable to read package metadata

  I'm trying to install a CentOS OS with kickstart using HTTP as the installation source. The kickstart server and the installed server are both running on VMs on the same machine. after the anaconda system installer starts it fails with the following message: I tried installing two different versions of Centos(5.5 and 5.2), and they both pass a CDROM media test the manual installation provides. • How do I enable JPEG Support for PHP?

  My Configure Command doesn't say anything about jpg, nor gif/png, but I can see gif/png support in the output of phpinfo(). I built PHP with --with-gd, but only GIF Support and PNG Support are in the output of phpinfo(), how do I enable JPEG Support? UPDATE I got this problem when compiling : Sorry, I cannot run apxs. Possible reasons follow: 1. Perl is not installed 2. apxs was not found. Try to pass the path using --with-apxs2=/path/to/apxs 3. • Yahoo flagging mail as spam when using relay server

  I'm using Postfix to relay mail from my site to my mail server. Mail is received properly at my Gmail and Hotmail accounts - only Yahoo is the problem. The Yahoo mail headers state: Received-SPF: none (mta1133.mail.mud.yahoo.com: domain of [email protected] does not designate permitted sender hosts) In contrast, the Gmail headers state: Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of [email protected] designates 74.50.xxx.xxx as permitted sender) client-ip=74.50.xxx.xxx; Reverse DNS is set up correctly, as is my SPF record. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to solve the Yahoo problem (short of contacting Yahoo, as this is a brand new mail server)? FYI - domainkeys are on the origin server and are showing as passed. Thanks

I am confused about the function of the I2C_SLAVE ioctl.From what i read,this ioctl is used to set the slave address. But we pass the slave address again when performing read/write using ioctl I2C_RDWR via addr in the structure i2c_msg. • Need to make a scheduled task run as another user but keep the current user’s environment

  I need to backup users .pst files. The current method I am trying is making a shadow copy using Diskshadow. My script works great all but Diskshadow needs to be ran as administrator but also needs to retain the logged-on user's environment variables; specifically, the %USERNAME% and %HOMESHARE% variables so the right user’s files get copied up to the right network location. I have for the most part got this to work), but there’s no straightforward (or secure, at least) way to pass the password. If I set up a scheduled task to run the script as a domain user with local admin privs, the environment variables get lost. I need to run this script automagically so that there should be no user interaction. If I could figure out how to make a scheduled task run as another user but keep the current user’s environment, I think this would work, but I’ve been beating my head against that for a while now, without any luck.

  Hi to the Linux community. I'm coming from a Windows Server background so have mercy. I'm attempting to whitelist some domains and although I know this isn't the best way of doing so its just a one off for a couple of domains so I thought it would be the quickest way of doing so. Current setup: Amavis is used to pass emails off the ClamAV and SpamAssasin, currently I make changes in /etc/amavis/conf.d/50-user, as this will overide other settings. Have created a whitelist file that looks like this: .domaintowhitelist.com .domain2towhitelist.com In the 50-user config file: Have tried variants like this: read_hash(\%whitelist_sender, '/etc/amavis/whitelist'); read_hash(\%virus_lovers, '/etc/amavis/whitelist'); And restarting amavis after making those changes. Am I going about this the wrong way? Any help is appreciated.

  I am using DNSmasq, OpenDNS and DYNDNS. DYNDNS is for my FTP site, and I am using OPEN DNS to filter porn from my kids itouch/ipad. However, I would like a few computers to have the capability to bypass openDNS, and pass through to a fast DNS server like google or similar. I would also like to fowrard all traffice from DYNDNS to my FTP server. Any ideas? This is what I have thus far.. strict-order dhcp-mac=filter,00:25:64:DB:A8:8A dhcp-option=net:filter,6,8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4 Its not working thus far, can someone help me accomplish what I want to do?

• How can Bonjour be setup to function over a VPN connection using Mac OS X — Mountain Lion Server?

  I purchased Mountain Lion Server for our office thinking that Bonjour would automatically enable any computers connected via VPN to see all computers and applications (such as Bento) running on the office network. The hope was that those of us working at home would feel just like we were in the office, with all network services working transparently over the VPN connection. However, I see that Bonjour (aka mDNS) is not enabled to work over the VPN by default. Can I configure Mountain Lion Server to automatically pass Bonjour traffic over the VPN? Is there any reason not to do this?

  Hi guys, I have a default route configured. 192.168.1.0/24 dev eth1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.1 I'd like to add a static route to pass traffic destined for 192.168.1.51 via a load balancer's redundant virtual interface at 192.168.1.2. ip route add 192.168.1.51 mask 255.255.255.255 via 192.168.1.2 When I try to add the static route I get this error. Error: either "to" is duplicate or "default" is garbage." It doesn't want to add the static route because it's in conflict with the default route. Is there a way around this? Regards Ossan

• How do I get a hold of the Reply-To header and remunge it in postfix

  I have a legacy application that emails via php. 5% of the emails aren't going through. The solution is to route all email through a fancy verified mail server like Amazon's SES. I am having some trouble implementing this functionality. It seems this guy had a similar problem. My question is where in postfix can I set a filter that will take as input the the message headers, so that I can manually set the From field and the Reply-To field to [email protected] and [email protected], respectively. Where whatever_php_wants is dictated by the php program and the users registration email. I know where to set the noreply portion, but I don't know the exact place in postfix's configuration files where I can intercept complete emails and pass them to a script. Edit So I want emails to look like: FROM: [email protected] REPLY-TO: the_users_address@their_email_service.com

• Transfer VLAN tagged packets over WLAN?

  I have the following composition of devices: [selfmade router] - ethernet - [WLAN router 1] ----- wlan ------ [WLAN router 2] WLAN router 2 has 5 ethernet ports, each as an own VLAN, so 5 VLANs. I want to manage the routing and firewalling between those VLANs at selfmade router. What technique would I use to pass the tagged vlan packets from WLAN router 2 to selfmade router? Could I use a bridge from WLAN router 2 to WLAN router 1 which itself has a bridge from WLAN router 1 to selfmade router or do I have a wrong understanding of a bridge?   Does anyone know if there are any USB network adapters out there that have both wired and wireless networking capability? Far-fetched, I know, but thought I'd ask. Background: Some of our users have locked down laptops that we also include unlocked virtual machines running on VMware Player. Sometimes the users have a need for network connectivity with their VMs where NAT and bridged networking from the host won't work. To supplement this, we want to supply them with adapters that they can use VMware USB pass through capabilities to provide appropriate connectivity. They will need both wired and wireless capability. Rather than carrying around 2 adapters, was hoping we could get a combination unit so that we can reduce it to 1. Thanks

  I'm running a few php sites off apache and want to start rails dev. I've installed rvm/nginx and can get my ruby site by going to websiteroot.com:8000... How do I pass ruby.websiteroot.com to websiteroot.com:8000? What's the best way for me to route a subdomain for ruby dev?? I'd switch to nginx completely if it weren't for all my php sites--seems like it's easier to just proxy for ruby. Advice?   From an answer I gave to another question: There are comment filtering services out there that can analyse comments in a manner similar to mail spam filters (all links to the client API page, organised from simplest API to most complex): Steve Kemp (again) has an xml-rpc-based comment filter: it's how Debian filters comments, and the code is free software, meaning you can run your own comment filtering server if you like; There's Akismet, which is from the WordPress universe; There's Mollom, which has an impressive list of users. It's closed source; it might say "not sure" about comments, intended to suggest offering a captcha to check the user. For myself, I'm happy with offline by-hand filtering, but I suggested Kemp's service to someone who had an underwhelming experience with Mollom, and I'd like to pass on more reports from anyone who has tried these or other services.

  I've created a generic batch (or Windows Command) file that lets me loop through the contents of a directory and call a command for each item. I've tried pre-pending the directory variable onto the front, like %_COMMAND% %_DIR%\"%%f", but this leaves a quotation mark in the parameter I pass. For example, if I call my batch file exec_dir.bat, and call it with the following echo_test.bat, I see that all of the files have a quotation mark when echo_test.bat runs. echo %~dpn1.mp4 That batch script produces: > exec_dir.bat "C:\Users\User\Desktop\Test Folder" echo_test.bat *.txt C:\Users\User\Desktop\Test Folder\"Test File.txt C:\Users\User\Desktop\Test Folder\"Test2.txt My thought is that it has something to do with the \ as an escape character, but I can't seem to work around it.
